Being a Melbournian, it's very interesting to see the opening of the movie showing early 1950s Melbourne, although you might have thought they'd have iconic Flinders Street Station as the setting. Bing and Bob, what legends.

IF I remember correctly using the camera as a 3rd person was started with the Marx Brothers they used it quite often. Another one that used it often was Jerry Lewis it was also used by others. These types of movies are no longer made sadly made. It added a depth to the movies/shows as well as just a good comedic touch.

Frankly, I find this movie an insult to Bali. I spent quite a bit of time in Bali in the 1970s and 80s and found the people and the island mesmerising, interesting and kind. This film is a mockery and the acting is clumsy.
@@hqfidz You're right. Best way to deal with it is to laugh at it (not the characters but the misrepresentation). I'm sure the Balinese would have a laugh too. Here, she again suddenly appears, with an agenda. She tried to force me to sign up for Acting Master Class when I just want a weekend movie to watch while I rest. Sure, I am interested in acting classes. Just not right this second.
I hate wokery but this movie is the complete opposite. Why didn't they just call the movie The Road to Bongo land. At least it wouldn't be an insult to the Balinese.

What I love about these road movies is the character Bob Hope plays, basically a frustrated horn dog. I think many males today can relate.
If you didn't live in the 50's you missed a great time. Life was simple, we were at peace, and all was well in the world.

The old "Road to..." movies are classics. I love the saturated colors of technicolor. It is amusing that all the girls are White.
