Winston Churchill said, “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
Churchill is right! But we STILL have gray-haired liberal professors on just about every college campus in America telling us that socialism is the best thing on earth.
    1. Socialism and Communism are the same ideology. Communism is but an extreme form of socialism. From the ideological standpoint, there is no substantial difference between the two. In fact, the communist Soviet Union (USSR) called itself the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (1922-1991) and communist China, Cuba, and Vietnam define themselves as socialist nations. Vladimir Lenin even said, “The goal of socialism is communism.”
    2. Socialism violates personal freedom. Socialism seeks to eliminate “injustice” by transferring rights and responsibilities from individuals and families to the State. In the process, socialism actually creates injustice. It destroys true liberty, the freedom to decide all matters that lie within our own competence and to follow the course shown by our reason, within the laws of morality, including the dictates of justice and charity.
    3. Socialism violates human nature. Socialism is anti-natural. It destroys personal initiative-a fruit of our intellect and free will-and replaces it with State control. It tends to favor totalitarianism, with its government and police repression, wherever it is implemented.
    4. Socialism violates private property. Socialism calls for “redistributing the wealth” by taking from the rich to give to the poor. It imposes taxes that punish those who have been able to take greater advantage of their productive talents, capacity to work or thrift. It uses taxation to promote economic and social egalitarianism, a goal that will be fully achieved, according to The Communist Manifesto, with the “abolition of private property.”
    5. Socialism opposes traditional marriage. Socialism sees no moral reason for people to restrict sex to marriage, that is, to an indissoluble union between a man and a woman. Furthermore, socialism undermines private property, which Friedrich Engels, founder of modern socialism and communism along with Karl Marx, saw as the foundation of traditional marriage.
    6. Socialism opposes parental rights in education. Socialism has the State, and not parents, control the education of children. Almost from birth, children are to be handed over to public institutions, where they will be taught what the State wants, regardless of parental views. For example, explicit sex-ed is promoted everywhere. Evolution MUST be taught as Dogma. School prayer MUST be completely forbidden.
    7. Socialism promotes radical equality. A supposed absolute equality among men is the fundamental assumption of socialism. Therefore, it sees any inequality as unjust in itself. Private employers are quickly portrayed as “exploiters” whose profits really belong to their employees. As a consequence, they rule out the system of wage earning.
    8. Socialism promotes atheism. Belief in God, who unlike us is infinite, omnipotent and omniscient, clashes head-on with the principle of absolute equality. Socialism therefore rejects the spiritual, claiming that only concrete matter exists. God, the soul, and the next life are illusions according to socialism.
    9. Socialism promotes relativism. For socialism there are no absolute truths or revealed morals that establish standards of conduct that apply to everyone, everywhere, and always. Everything evolves, including right and wrong, good and evil. There is no place for the Ten Commandments, neither in the private mind nor in the public square.
    10. Socialism mocks religion. According to Karl Marx, religion is “the opium of the people.” Lenin, founder of the Soviet Union, agreed: “Religion is opium for the people. Religion is a sort of spiritual booze in which the slaves of capital drown their human image, their demand for a life more or less worthy of man.”
Socialism is really a form of slavery. It banishes God, it starves the soul, it stifles initiative and free enterprise, it dismantles the family, and it shipwrecked entire nations.
May God protect America from socialism.

There are certain things that socialism is better at. It is probably not a good idea to allow corporations to run the fire and police departments. Some American states have allowed them to run for-profit prisons which have led to kickbacks going to judges and D.A.s in order to maximize revenue such as with the kids for cash scandal.

Capitalism values profits over human life and dignity. In contrast, socialism opposes capitalism and a world where profits are prioritized over human life and dignity. To restore an ethical and moral framework in factories and mines, socialism promotes worker-owned factories and mines.
Do not conflate itsy-bitsy, teenie-weenie pseudo-ideologies like socialism and communism and totalitarian ideologies like Leninism, Marxism, Maoism, and Stalinism

Socialism also denies the nature of man: that's man's agency is true, valid and worthwhile. Adults do not need other adults to tell them what the need, like, or enjoy. Socialism presumes that they do. It denies the locus of human existence is the individual (in free community). Not the dictatorial group. When dictatorial groups rise to prominence, societies are crushed and fail to thrive. Free people inevitably seek to create value for others. Unfree people seek to eek out survival.

The earliest followers of Jesus did not build a socialist community.
In Acts 2 scripture records that Jesus’ first followers quote, “…had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all as any had need.”
Later in Acts 4, we read that, “…no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they held everything in common..”
Some believe these scriptures show that early Christians were socialists and if those who actually walked with Jesus were socialists that means Jesus must have been a socialist himself.
Though Jesus’ first followers did demonstrate radical generosity there is no evidence they shared in the means of production that they abolished private property or that anyone was coerced into giving what they had.
In fact, when Ananias and Sapphira lied about what they had given to the community they were not condemned for refusing to give everything they had, they were condemned for lying about what they had done.
In Acts 5:4 Peter rebuked them saying, “While it remained, was it not yours? And after it was sold, was it not in your power?”
Those are not the words of someone who believes the poor have a RIGHT to the property of the rich.
Later in Acts, we read of churches gathering in homes owned by members. They still owned their own property. Holding everything in common was an expression of love that people had for each other. Not a mandate on early Christians. The fact is neither Jesus’ words or the behavior of the early church support the idea that Jesus was a socialist.
In fact, scripture consistently calls to contentment regardless of our situation, generosity out of love and not compulsion, and urges us to put our faith in God, and not our government.

Sure wanting to improve yourself is good . But how and why? Improve what?
While service is a Good thing . But depends on who you're serving.. yourself, good people, bad people, rich evil people
Some people that are Rich never help others .and the people at the bottom suffer under the weight of that pyramid.. the money doesn't always roll down...
There are poor everywhere... No matter what . Jesus talked about the poor alot .
There will always be poor people...
    Why?
Sharing is caring is an important life lesson.
We NEED be taught to share. . MORE SO THAN WE ARE NOW. THE RICH NEED TO SHARE MORE THAN THEY DO NOW. Is this taught in school? I haven't seen it. Have you

  • @dragonsigner

Remember if everyone is Rich. No one is
This a world with limited resources. No one can own everything. If one person owns everything no one else does..
If we didn't have money would the world be a better place? Yes and no
Greedy people will keep their mountain of stuff and not share. They could KEEP on getting stuff . because it's free
Not everyone can be on top of the mountain.
Money is a limited resource to trade for other goods and services..
To say things have value is a vague term .. people can determine value. Out of the blue. Some can say it's worth noting, while the next one can say $100000..
If someone printed more money it makes that money worth less...that's economics..
Look at inflation. .means things go up in Price? Why? Hard to come by resources..
Simply put . Capitalism is not perfect not better than. Socialism/communism either. All have flaws..
Now what if that capitalism/socialism/ communism is ran by a Christian. By Jesus Christ himself .it would not fail.
Why because of the law of sharing.
It's like a boat .if everyone is rowing in the same direction. The boat moves forward. And if the captain is doing his job. And everyone follows the captain.
But if one person rows differently the boat doesn't go anywhere but I. Circles.
Sure capitalism HAS WORKED SO FAR. BUT IT WILL FAIL .all things die. Breakdown.
The mountains will always fall .what goes up must come down
Just because socialism and communism have not worked. Yet doesn't mean. That it's a bad idea. Or won't work in the future

I agree, but market conditions often don’t work for those with low incomes. For example, if daycare workers are paid according to their valuable work, protecting and guarding those under five years old, then people with low incomes cannot afford daycare. If you are 62 and have a significant medical condition, you cannot get health insurance or the cost is prohibitive for a person with a low income. As Jesus says in Matthew 25, we must attend to the needs of the poor and sick that often is not present in the free-market system without significant regulation.

Less one sided political takes with no nuance or examination of flaws in ones own side, please. We already mix socialism and capitalism. No one actually wants any society where only one is the option. They're all wrong.

    1. Socialism does NOT deny Private Property. It simply points out that the majority have very little private property, sometimes less than required to keep body and SOUL together.
    2. Socialism has little to say about security other than the fact that want (lack of resources) drives crime, a historic truth ignored by capitalism.
    3. Socialism depends on Free Enterprise to produce a surplus that creates revenue that can be used to improve society (infrastructure) AND reduce the disparity between those who have little (typically one third of the population even in an advanced nation) and those who own most... the 1%.
    4. Socialism does NOT remove competition. The point of equality is to provide a level playing field, from the beginning, that allows EVERY individual to achieve a greater proportion of their potential. The point is not to REDUCE everyone to the same level, but to raise the poorest to a level where they can contribute. This stimulates innovation and quality. Equality is the FIRST statement of the Declaration of Independence and the least adhered to.
    5. At what point does Self Interest translate into greed? How can an individual born into poverty and ignorance provide effective Service?
    6. Invisible Hand... what? Of God? This is the greatest top-down situation of all time!
    7. Free Rider Problem. Some people do NOT have the mental capacity to contribute consciously (IQ below 83... known fact). Some people do NOT have the physical capacity to contribute 100%: young children, people born with physical disabilities, people who suffer life-changing injuries. IF the capitalist economy is not working well enough to provide some form of employment for every able-bodied person, what are people to do to survive? A question ignored by capitalism.
    8. Ripple Effect. Since a state cannot function without revenue, taxation is inevitable. What is capitalism's problem with the people with the most resources making a proportional contribution to taxation? The wealthiest pay, proportionally, the least tax.
    9. Supply & Demand. In what universe is entertainment more important than education? Well... ours, actually... but is that reasonable? In reality, excellent teachers are just as scarce as excellent quarterbacks, but the requirement for numbers for all those school classes is so great that quantities of incompetents are accepted for the job, just as in the lower football leagues almost anyone can play the part of quarterback as long as they know the basic rules.
This whole video is a carefully crafted piece of disinformation based on a false concept of socialism. IF you want to know what effective socialism looks like, rather than this pantomime of propaganda, look at Scandinavia.

This should be removed from the channel. The scripture should not be used to back up any economic model. Why are we focusing on the things of the world? Why give the unbeliever more “evidence” that believers are only focused on money?

    • @chloemartel9927
      @chloemartel9927 4 месяца назад +3

Why do you think this is about money? It is about good and evil, and the effects both have on society. Scripture addresses a great many things as we have to live in this world. And God uses His people to carry out His plans on this earth. We would be foolish to isolate ourselves as Christians from this world. Seems that is how these messes usually begin by people being too lazy to address issues until they are out of control because evil never rests.

People and the gov fight over taxes. Alot. On how much or how little. Who gets what taxes. Who does what with taxes. Who pays taxes. And how much. Some people (some rich don't pay enough. They get to pay less, for some reason)

I think I’m missing what you’re pointing at. The goal of the video isn’t to say the system is perfect nor would any man made system be perfect as for as I can see. Every man made system will have trade offs. The danger is thinking you can fix anything without having a trade off that would be far worse than the original problem.
