The grave of Brigadier Mohammad Usman, the highest ranking official to be killed in action during the first India-Pakistan war in 1947-48, has been damaged, allegedly by miscreants. in Delhi’s Batla House Qabristan near Jamia Millia Islamia. This is shamefull for us. He was true patriot and son of this brave land.
To understand how great this man was, consider this:
- He never married. He was only commited to his duty for the nation throughout his life.
- He used to donate a large part of his salary for educating poor children and looking after them.
- As mentioned here, he refused an invitation to become one of the highest ranking military officers in the Pakistan army. He chose to fight for India despite tremendous pressure.
- After losing Jhangar once, he pledged to sleep on the floor and not sleep in any kind of comfort until he recaptured it from the Pakistanis.
- He did exactly what he had pledged and captured Jhangar, and also managed to kill a very large number of Pakistani soldiers all by himself.
- His last words were " I am dying but let not the territory we were fighting for fall for the enemy".
Why would anyone even want to vandalise this legendary man's grave is simply beyond my understanding.

The government should renovate the grave as soon as possible.
What a disgrace for us as citizens of India. The Ministry of defence should immediately talk the control of his burial ground and develop it as a monument for the fallen Hero...

Sher of Naushera for a reason. By the way Indian Army renovated the grave of Brig Usman after the incident quoted in the video

Its absolutely condemnable. Government and Indian army should take care of his memorial. He rejected Pakistan's offer and served for India. Brig Usman was the one who used Jai Hind to greet his soldiers, he also asked his soldiers to use Hindi Language for press conferences and communication. Salute to the Sher of Naushera Brig. This must have been a peaceful site when he was buried there. Now there is a metro station right next to it, drawing drunkards into the place, i guess time just doesn't care about anyone, even heroes.
