Short circuit test of transformer is performed at primary circuit of transformer
By the Short circuit test we determine copper loss efficiency of transformer equivalent resistance inductance and leakage reactance etc
In this test a volt metre ammeter wattneter and auto transformer is used
By the help of auto transformer we supply 5 to 10 % voltage of its rated voltage
Short circuit test performs to determine copper loss or ( i²r loss )
While open circuit test is performs to determine iron loss or core loss .
Transformer is a static device which is used to convert high alternating current into low alternating current and low alternating current in high alternating current .
