Teacher can u please give me scripture and expound on how tongues are a sign of the Holy Spirit? Thank you
Great question 1 Corinthians 14:22 “Wherefore tongues are for a SIGN, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not…”
My point was to stress the many examples of signs in scripture and that signs are the not the purpose of a thing. Very similar to how you see a street sign telling you a city is coming in a few miles. The purpose of the city is not the street sign. It’s just proof the city exists and you’re headed in the right direction. Tongues are proof of Holy Spirit and sign for ppl to have faith in its existence. But the PURPOSE of the Holy Spirit is to comfort, guide and power us to be witnesses, etc.
It’s a rich topic and really deserves its own attention aside from this lesson.
