How do you grow your nails?!? There so beautiful I’m trying to grow mine out but they are like a 1/4 of that length 😂
It takes time for sure! Here’s what has helped me consistently:
- Using a gentle file, 189 grit or higher or a glass file, don’t clip or use a cheap abrasive file that shreds your nails
Gloves every single time you’re doing dishes or cleaning
- Always wear polish or gel, bc it’s like armor for your nails
- Round nail shape, square shape tends to break on corners because it’s a stress point!
- Put on cuticle oil + lotion at night before bed, more cuticle oil during the day if you can

I started doing my nails, and it was such a nice experience. I had a me moment, and I was always confident I had perfect hands. But suddenly I developed an allergy. I let my hands heal for a few months, but I finally found something artistic that I loved, I just couldn't ler it go. After months, I found a hema free line produced by my country! Only 8-10€ for a polish! I saved and saved the money, and finally I can do my nails again. Since I can buy very few colors, sometimes I use stickers too, to spice things up. I feel finally good again❤
I can't even afford a haircut, i have been taking care of my nails doing my manicures myself (learned on RUclips) and they are improving now im trying nailart, thanks to your videos, wish me luck! If i can do this maybe i can save some money and inroll in an academy to get certified as a nail technician. Best wishes to you all too.❤

I never had nice nails and I still don't😞 They tend to bend and peel easy even with nail hardener and I have tried a few old wives tale remedies that didn't seem to work as well so I have to keep them short.

It's really great to take care of our nails on our own cause tbh nail salons charge way too much so this is more healthier and definitely cheaper option!
Getting your nails done by someone else is definitely a luxury expense and not everyone can afford that, so yeah I wanted to have them done because it makes me feel nice so I started doing them myself 🥰
My daughter and I do our nails together now. She enjoys picking polish and I enjoy the fact it costs less than 5 dollars to do our nails lol

I got you! It honestly is just a lot of practice with teaching yourself to be semi ambidextrous. I also lay both my arms in the table and go very slowly, sort of pressing the brush into the nail. Lmk if this helps! 💙
It also helps to sort of move your hand/finger on your right, instead of trying to do all the work with your left, if that makes sense

I have small and chubby fingers and I had the habit of biting nails so you can imagine how my hands looked. I was really insecure about them and wanted pretty hands so I decided to grow my nails. I failed a couple of times but now I have long healthy nails and you won't believe how just having longer nails increased my confidence. My hands no longer look chubby. They are quite feminine and I love them

@@TheCoookingStudio first you should cut your cuticles or just push it back if you are a beginner. It will make the nails look cleaner. And for the biting habit. I do that when I'm nervous so it's like really hard to change the habit. It was just failing and trying again for me.

Same!! Chronic nail biter all the way till I was 27. Then out of the blue I wanted that to change. I wanted beautiful nails. So I fought and grew them out for one month. Immediately went to the nail salon and let them put false nails. Then I grew them. Rn they're LONG underneath the false nails. About her nail length in the video. Tuesday 1st I'm gonna go take of these false ones off and for the first time in my LIFE do my own natural long nails. I am so excited and proud of myself.

Same. I did piano all my life so there wasn’t any point to doing my nails which needed to be cut very often and also ruined by the piano. The expense always felt exorbitant cuz I never did them so in college when I stopped piano I finally realized I could do them and did them at home haha

I used to be a nail biter and nail art became my way of redirecting my bad habit + expressing my creativity. I felt like it was genuinely good for my mental health even when people judged me for being too vain. When the pandemic started and my mental health plummeted my biting habits came back and I lost all my progress. What you said in this video really resonated with me, I feel like for me my nails represent my mental health as silly as it sounds. Thank you for this! You are so talented 🥰

I also love nail art and painting my nails, but have a nail and cuticle biting/picking habit and I've tried growing them out and painting them as a way to make me stop, but there's times where I fail for some reason and lose my progress, latley they've been long foe a while tho! So hopefully it works out!

My nails grow pretty fast, and I’ve been trying to grow them out. But they always end up chipping and are SO brittle and weak. I’ve been trying to grow out my nails, but I always pick them off, I don’t bite, but I pick. I’ve been doing it since like age 8 and it’s whenever I’m scared or stressed, since that’s 24/7, I have no nails.
Habits are really hard to break 🥲 I chewed mine ever since I was little but stopped recently. I’m an anxious person and what helped me is finding other things to mess with, like a ring, instead of picking at my nails - and also making sure any ragged skin/nails are clipped and filed so there’s nothing to pick. I hope this helps 🥹🙏🏻

Coming from an immigrant family(not in US),my parents want to me have the same things as my classmates, so one day my mom took me to get my nails done. I already have good nail, and I got a cute design and it costed €30, and that’s a lot.
So, for Christmas I asked for a LED lamp and it was 25€ and got 6 semi gel from Amazon for 8€. 7 years later, I still do my own nails, still use the same lamp.

Your nail beds are so long and thin, I love them 😩 mine are wide and kinda short, and my nails are flat 😂 my right middle nail grows down/in a curve when it gets longer , it's the only nail that does it 🤦♀️
Mine definitely looked wider when they were shorter - as nails grow out they tend to curl in and look narrower, and sometimes you can file them into an optical illusion of looking straighter? I hope this helps 🥹

Okay so I’m not allowed to have long nails because I play the violin, but I’m so sad because my nails look ugly all the time. I want to start wearing nail polish too but the outside of my nails still peel, get damaged, and get covered in the polish. I also have naturally long nail beds so I think that’s good. Does anyone have any tips?
I think I can help! If your nails are peeling from the tips, it’s probably because your file is too rough. I would switch to a 180 grit or gentler file to help the ends of your nails not peel and/or chip:) also cuticle oil every day will help your polish last longer!

I think it’s partly genetics but also partly I’ve been working on them for years and finally have them looking nice. I used to have just nubs of nails and they were thing and damaged so it took a long time to grow them out. Where are your nails at now? - maybe I can help!
