I really like that first one, with the tool bar flipped back and a single shank. Since you've shown us your "new" D2 I've been wondering how that would look in action. Thanks for sharing man
,, Sort of hard to tell because they're moving, but looks like street pads tracks,, Watching on my small phone screen it's hard to tell if there's any grouser bar on them at all,
Not surprised that field was so hard, it's been getting compacted for years. And that's a 'new' road between the weigh house and the tractor display area, isn't it? Thanks for the vid!
That’s very interesting. My uncle has a 6G 30 and an R-4. The head on the 6G cracked and he had it fixed by the metal lock method. I always wondered if the 6G block could be converted to diesel.
Feel and sound. By just the sounds of the cutting edge, one can feather a nice crown into the roadbed. I don’t wear much hearing protection on my cat 12 for that reason.
What model pull grader is that. My family had one. That was my jungle gym in the 60s. Used to pull it with the twenty. Mom driving the twenty and my older brother on the grader Spoked wheels with pneumatic tires. A neighbor has the grader restored in his front yard behind locked gates and behind trees on lockwood valley road in ventura county ca.
All of this makes me want to put my No. 11 Adams Leaning Wheel grader in operating condition. Unfortunately there are a few things in the queue ahead of it.
Just out of curiousity. After that's done do they go back over that field with a multi disc tiller ? It is nice to see an old workhorse in the field after all these years. There's almost no chance modern farm equipment will be after the same time span.
I noticed the No.11 grader has a newer tire paired with an old bald one on the right drive wheels. Won't the difference in diameter be a little hard on the drive chain between them? The bald tire does look a bit taller though so maybe it's okay.
At 4:20 I had to rewind, my phone had dropped down to 480p and at that resolution it looked like the tracks on the cat pulling the grader were not moving!
Just a general question, with the new low sulfur diesel lacking a lot of the extra lubricants in the fuel, do you add some to these beautiful classics with the modern fuels?
Yee haw Squanchy Poo. Old iron is the best iron! Did y'all tease the guy with the Cletrack to much? Is that why he don't come and help on maintenance days? Ha ha just joken. That field looks better than it did. Cut a crop of pumpkin back into it and I do believe you could grow what ever you can dream up. Without fertilizer that is. Corn knee high by the 4 July! Without anhydrous ammonia
Not knowing the options on that RD4 with the Ripper, I assume you can actually run multiple rippers. Is just 1 normal or is it because the ground was just that hard?
Thanks for the reply. I had thought so but with all the different upgrades Cat was coming out with at this time I thought it could have been some sort of rare option hahahaha
The Cat no12 sounded fantastic, but the Patrol looked a bugger to steer!
Thank you squatch……happy Halloween
So good to see those machines actually doing what they were built to do. Still doing a beautiful job as well.
Some nice old machines there👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
We need a walk around on that tail seat RD-6. I’m going to be buying a 4U Tail seat D2 pretty soon. Such cool looking machines.
Listen to that 3 cylinder D6600 😂
thump ,,,,,, thump …..thump
Where's jaypaydirt when you need him...🤣🤣. Great work!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
awesome video it's nice to see the old caterpillar equipment out working them old slow turning diesel engines sure have a beautiful rhythm to them
I would be surprised if the new “emissions” equipment is still running in 10 to 20 lol
2:25 Them goddamn rocks strike again! 🪨🪨🪨
Good to see that old iron at work....
love those three cylinder Cats
7:14 a picture to frame. Old Iron doing work just as good as it did when it was young. Nice.
Oldy but a Goody's big tools 💕💕😊😀to watch brings back old memories
Great video 👌 the sights and sounds of yesteryear doing what they were made for 💪👍
I really like that first one, with the tool bar flipped back and a single shank. Since you've shown us your "new" D2 I've been wondering how that would look in action. Thanks for sharing man
Those old tracks squeaking and groaning sound like me when I get up in the morning 😂😅
Thanks for taking use here to show us how cats set up the fields and roads.
Now that a very nice Cable cat with a grader.
,, Sort of hard to tell because they're moving, but looks like street pads tracks,,
Watching on my small phone screen it's hard to tell if there's any grouser bar on them at all,
It was great seeing and hearing the old iron work and squeak! Thank you for sharing
Nice to see the old iron getting the job done.
Wow. looks so much different when empty!
Dang. I didn't know a 7U had an Overdrive. That thing was ripping it. Literally.
The RD-6 driver looks familiar... I wonder who it is.
Not surprised that field was so hard, it's been getting compacted for years. And that's a 'new' road between the weigh house and the tractor display area, isn't it? Thanks for the vid!
Thanks, great to see the old stuff out and working!
Looks like fun was had by all !!!!
Thanks Squatch
D7 trying to lug down like an RD6 lol
That’s some dry hard dirt, enjoyed the video as always!
Man great video and machines! I definitely enjoyed every minute of it! Love them old cats!👌😎👍
That's awesome, Also pretty neat that there is a town called Nowthen in MN. Almost like Northern....but not. Thanks for sharing.
Neat stuff. Nice old D4 with the rear seat (tail seat orchard). Guessing a 7J ? Thanks for giving us the tour.
That’s very interesting. My uncle has a 6G 30 and an R-4. The head on the 6G cracked and he had it fixed by the metal lock method. I always wondered if the 6G block could be converted to diesel.
Great video squatch253! They guys done a great job. Thanks for the video. Cheers
I've been there many times as it's not far from where I live!
Like the tool bar. I have a D2 with the tool bar dozer.
It seems to me it takes a good deal of skill to run a grader.
It's easy to learn hard to master. 👌
Feel and sound. By just the sounds of the cutting edge, one can feather a nice crown into the roadbed. I don’t wear much hearing protection on my cat 12 for that reason.
@@johndowe7003 That sounds about right.
Yes
Lots of guys can run an AutoPatrol. Damn few can run one well.
Those new machines don't have anything on those old units....except a warranty,,🎃😂😂😂
Boy do I like that cat 12! I’m going to have to fine one for myself some day. Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks bud for the video and your time. Hallow Happy Ween 🎃 🕷 🕸 👻
Good gosh where do you find these dinosaurs....Impressive that they still work.....😃

Wow these old machines are working great. I doubt if today's machines will be running in 50 or 60 years.
In 20,25 years
Good Video
Seems to me, the one on the pull behind blade is first in line for lunch, or the rest buy his lunch.
A ripping good time.
Nice change of pace from cutting firewood isn't it?

friggin givver sum wooooo

You can add two stroke oil to the diesel or some atf works great for these old machines
And "work day" and "play day wearing out the dirt with our cool old machines" are totally different because...?
That sounds like a wife. LOL

Have you ever seen anyone use a grader to pull an implement?
Did Cat make a self propelled roller in the era of this equipment??
Not knowing the options on that RD4 with the Ripper, I assume you can actually run multiple rippers. Is just 1 normal or is it because the ground was just that hard?
@@squatch253 Thanks Squatch.
Squatch why was the ripper tool bar at an angle side to side?
Thanks for the reply. I had thought so but with all the different upgrades Cat was coming out with at this time I thought it could have been some sort of rare option hahahaha
Why is the tool bar off level of the D4? Deliberate for a reason I do not understand or is it age?
I'm starting to think these vehicles have lead paint and lead parts in them along with other vehicles that are in other vids that you uploaded
When I see and hear old iron I think of my Granpa Green. Awesome, video thank you
Are you still working at the Ford garage?
✋🏼🇦🇺👍🏼
😊😊😊👍🌎🌞🎃👹🖐
