The name Belay Teklu reminds me of my childhood. it used to one of my dad's favorite place to take us after Saturday's shirshir. Oh! How I miss my childhood it was simple and happy. Good job Tesfa Lidet for opening the bakery, Dallas Ethiopians are lucky. I wish he named it Belay Teklu though.
Ato Tesfalidet, I enjoyed your story and as well as the story of your legendary father. Every kid who grew up in Addis knows Belay Teklu pastry very well. The entrepreneurial spirit of the family is amazing and I hope your dad's book would give hope and inspiration to the Ethiopian youth! Thank you!
I am one of the follower of your show ( life in America ) on EBC almost every weekend on line over two years , I can say since you interviewed that homeless Ethiopian guy from DC and I have big admiration & respect to your show content of real & neutral from any political group our country this is what makes us united or ready for re-consultation . 2nd I saw the interview which hold on may 14/2015 with the son of legend Ethiopian business man Balay Teklu , I have unforgettable memory of that building and pastry ( cake beat) I born & raised around that area they called Amanyele sefer , I had the first test of quality cake under that building Balay Teklu biscuit bate almost 1/2 a century ago . Now this building is national heritage Ethiopian not only the son or family of Belay Teklu responsibility to keep this historical building , it is the responsibility of all Ethiopian people who love Ethiopia particularly ruling government , opposition and activist and mass media to keep and pass this national heritage to our future generation . Hey keep your good work .
