My alltime favourite Baggies shirt, two of the best teams in europe of that era. Looking at the way Robson, Cantello and co competed against that tremendous Liverpool Engine room of Souness, Case, Kennedy and McDermot shows just how good that Baggies side was.
thanks for this great video...i was there first time on the kop, electric atmosphere, right behind that stansion at the start....great win, great crowd, gates locked early, fight on the road end, perfect day
IF only Laurie Cunningham has crossed that ball to Ali Brown towards the end of the game instead of trying to score we wouldve equalized!! Still you cant take it away from Lpool what a team!!! They deserved to win!! I actually travelled by coach to Anfield, but arrive too late to get in, as the gates were closed!! So when i found out i cudnt get in i had to run for my life from several thugs looking for a fight!!
Was at this game - As good (very good) as Liverpool were throughout the mid seventies into the 80's, when they were bad they were non league standard - as clearly illustrated here!
BU££SHIT! Liverpool were NEVER any less that 70% even at their worse, if you can be that bad at your worse and win that much silverware your're not doing to badly at all. I'm a hugely proud Baggies fan, and feel that the difference between these sides was Kenny Dalglish.
The fire at 9m10s they mention is the remains of a flare Liverpool fans threw into the Albion section. It landed in the hood of a guy’s coat set fire to the coat and then the Albion fans threw it back towards the Liverpool fans. Lots of trouble around the ground after
The pitch "only just passed an early inspection". Liverpool's first goal by Dalglish- the Albion defender slipped. Would not have happened on a normal playing field.
I went to this game, i didnt get in, they shut the gates, there must av been a 1000 albion locked out, so we got the bus back to the town, we got run everywer, i was only 16, horrible place in them days

But then because of the camera angle had not ruled out offside.
Alot of west Brom at this match loads in the Anfield Road end

...and they'd have blamed us. Maybe they deserved that ban after all?🤔
@@user-sw2ob4iw1m Liverpool to be fair is overall the same as other big cities with bad and good people

A valid point, but Dalglish made the difference in that game. I'm so proud of that Baggies side though.

Oddly enough, I'm very fond of scousers, but there was so much violence and argy bargy back then.
