Hey everybody. Just a quick update on the bonnet/good jitters overseas owners have been reporting. After we filmed this video I held on to the car for a week and did a bit of highway driving and noticed the bonnet jittering at highway speeds (especially when it was windy).
Thanks Paul. This is a big reservation of mine and I don't expect Mitsi have sorted this issue yet. Dealers seem to have radio silence on this, or say the Aussie standards are better than U.S. therefore it shouldn't be a prob
I want eclipse cross review
Your annoying
Jk I love your vids
Good thing I read about this. I was almost about to to buy one this week. I will watch out for more details
Test drove it the other day and also noticed the bonnet fluttering above 80km/hr. I mentioned this to the salesperson who conveniently didn’t know what i was talking about. Still love the car though and put my order in. I hope they fix it before i get mine at the end of the year!
"G'day I'm Paul" that never gets old.
Phew!
Same as Doug DeMuro "THISSS is a 2022 Dodge...... LEGENDS Doug and Paul!
@@s.francis5434 same 😂 with his hands
Do you like Huey Lewis and the news?
@@paydirt_music Um, they're okay.
When I need a thorough review of any car I can always rely on you Paul. Awesome work consistently!
Congrats on your little one! I would like to see car seats in the reviews but love you see prams even more. They are such a big part of family life and knowing if you can fit pram and shopping is super important. Love the reviews even though we still haven’t decided on which 7 seater is for us 😊
Purchased base model 2 weeks ago, has most of the features mentioned and absolute pleasure to drive. Plenty of get up and go ,with heaps of space. Great review, thank you.
'plenty of get up and go'.. ha ha hahahaha 🤣 Goodness knows what you've been driving previously...
Is the base model have 4wd?
@@jackman2865 yes
@@howardwall8743 I hope it’s got more up and go than the previous generation model as that thing made my dad’s diesel 4x4 felt like a performance car in comparison lol
@@howardwall8743why be so judgemental with your comment considering that the base ES variant does offer a lot for a base model, particularly when it comes to safety features. Perhaps the person who commented did drive a much older vehicle and had to work very hard to save up the $$$$ for the base model. If you can afford to buy one of the more high end variants then good luck to you, but the most popular Outlander variants are the ES and LS. We almost went for an LS ourselves but after some friendly negotiating combined with EOY discounts, we're very excited as we wait for our Aspire. If we could only afford an ES variant, we'd be just as excited! Be nice. 😬
Have not been a fan of CVT transmissions but this car does look good makes me want to consider one! Can not wait for the review of the Xtrail. As always Paul and Igor amazing review!
Baby seat test could be a nice addition.
Yeah, good idea
Congratulations on your child's birth Paul!
Also, YES to including child seats in reviews!
My kids don't need seats anymore but when we were looking a car, it was something we overlooked.
Many times at the shops I would see people with rear facing baby seats that were squished right behind the front seats in little mazda 2's and other small cars.
Luckily the Suzuki SX4 sedan we bought had plenty of room for the rear facing seat as well as the pram in the boot.
Definitely worth mentioning it for new parents as they're choosing cars with the kids' safety in mind.
Love your honesty! Corrections made show integrity! Always a great segment. Thanks again.
Looks great... inside and out! We had the 2012 model and never had any issues with it... very reliable! It was a turbo diesel though! Had great torque! Gone for the new sorento now! Congrats on the new addition 👏
Been waiting for this review on the new outlander. And it looks great. Awesome review. Would like to see the baby seat segment soon.
This is the first time I've seen Paul NOT testing the third row seats.
I mean, by the looks of it, it is probably isn't something I would try as well either HAHA.
Good work you're putting out there mate.
I have had an MY17 Outlander for past 5 yrs and never had any major issue s with it,. I did have some low expectations of the new 2022 Outlander after watching your review,,, so I went and test drove one last weekend…and was absolutely blown away by the engines power behind its acceleration and outstanding handling and minimal roll around corners. Was so impressed by the new Outlander MY22, that I brought one 👍🏻
Thanks for another terrific review, and though I have no need for baby seats, I think that they'd still be a great inclusion in your excellent reviews. This review has over 100k views which seems rather spectacular to me. I saw an ooly-dooly version of this in the Westfield Shopping centre in Mernda, and thought that not only did it look better in "person", it also looked quite compact. Loved the interior, but would choose not to buy on your mention that it wasn't well-built inside. Kudos too, for calling-out third-row seats when they are poorly-done - I've often seen you force yourself into them, and see you perched on your coccyx, which can't be good for any adult over a long drive, and I can't recall actually seeing a 7-seat with all seats occupied hurtling along the road. And congratulations on becoming a dad! Spoil your children every chance you get and savour every second you have with them.
I just got one last week and am loving it..a perfect family car and drives and feels amazing..
Great video as always Paul and team! As a soon to be new dad as well it would be great to see a segment on baby seats. And getting kids in and out. Cheers
Paul beats absolutely everyone and gets the best cars before they are released ! You always beat them all hahaha
This is freaking awesome. What a lovely car, priced well too
I watched a story about getting cars to review, apparantley if you criticise the vehicle you don't get any more to review. Hence if you call a pig a rose you are always first to review. Most reivews you see are like that.
@@henryzhang2804 I thought that the CX9 is the very best ! A solid 2.5 engine with turbo. What the hell went wrong? What kind of issues. Did they deny or will they fix it under warranty as they lawfully should.
Gets the best cars? are you serious? This Outlander with its old NA motor is rubbish and Paul was far too kind in his review.
@@TheFieldy107 I speak for myself when I say that I was awaiting the review on that SUV. So I was excited. Especially that it's not yet available on Carsales yet Paul secured the review 1st, as usual. The SUV in itself is disappointing, mainly due to lack of turbo. Also no ventilated seats ! So I'm.papmpered with the Skoda Kodiaq RS when ot is available in Australia, or the Sorento. Can't afford a more expensive SUV. As if 75 K wasn't already too high lol
@@henryzhang2804 welp at least you're safe when riding them, the last IIHS test (that was updated) was only passed with good by the cx5 (they were all midsized suvs)
Hi Paul, firstly congrats on becoming a dad. Best feeling ever! As for a child seat segment, it's a yes from me. I know I'm constantly trying to look at that when looking at car reviews because as a parent it does play a major part in the decision-making process considering you'll have a child seat for quite a number of years. No doubt you'll find yourself looking at that more and more without necessarily noticing, so might as well include that research in your videos. :) Oh, and perhaps also how a car performs on boot space once you have a pram in the back. It's a pain to take all that along when trying out a car, so seeing this in a review is handy when trying to just shortlist a few options in the initial stages.
I have an Honda HRV and as an example I find it to be a pain with the child seat. Installation was pretty easy, but getting a child in and out is rather tricky as the roof drops down towards the rear of the car. Because of that I always need to make sure I don't hit our daughter's head on the doorway roof, so I always end up in some weird angle just to get her in and out. I can't lean in with her because my face will smash into the doorway roof, so it's like I need to aim for the seat and dangle her into it.
Granted we bought the car before having kids, but just pointing it out as those some examples of what I've experienced and what I'll look out for when viewing a new car. Ease of getting a child in and out, boot space (with pram / accessories), rear vent and USB for charging a tablet (to keep kids entertained on those longer drives) - probably the main considerations.
Damn. The Outlander looks awesome. The chrome and red works really well. Amazing review!
Agree! It really pops in the red. The Exceed Tourer gets a black roof as well.
Looks like a Range Rover
Thanks Paul, I finally went and had a look for myself at the dealer and signed up for the Tourer. Should arrive in 10 months but at least the deal is locked in. We need a new category for large medium suv. It seems pretty big to me. It certainly appears to be good value. I may be wrong but the 10 year warranty and capped price servicing seems to better Kia which everyone raves about. Sure it requires dealer servicing but can you blame them. It’s optional and you can take a more standard 5 years if you trust your own mechanic. Each to their own which also applies to the styling - hard to do much to make a big box standout yet that front end certainly does. As for the drivetrain I’m no boy racer so not worried. Comfort seemed fine on the test drive. I’d suggest your viewers go and check it out for themselves.
Great review. I bought one here in Cali and I love it. We got it 3 weeks ago with only 7miles and it now has just over 3000 on it.
Love the idea about the baby seat but also the pram. We just purchased a new car because the pram didn’t fit in the boot of our old car and trying to find reviews out there of prams in all these cars was extremely difficult as it would have helped narrow our search so much quicker.
I love it actually, well done Mitsubishi for showing their talent
Hey Paul, great video as per usual, would love to see a segment of family cars with rear facing baby seats and in particular the leg room in the front passenger seat due to the rear facing seat.
Thanks for the review Paul. I found your review very thorough and detailed. I ordered my outlander exceed in Feb this year hopefully it will be here in December 22. I currently have a 2016 outlander exceed. Looking forward to driving the new one.
Love your reviews Paul. They’re engaging from start to finish. Good job on the dad jokes- keep ‘em coming :-)
Exceed tourer already ordered for Dec delivery. The new shape is bangin'. Can't wait! Thanks for the great review once again.
You are going to regret. Unless of course you are into underpowered engines and overly soft suspension. I owned a previous model Outlander which was rubbish and it seems the new one is mainly just a cosmetic facelift.
@@TheFieldy107 You're full of shit, I've driven it and it's fine. Tell me why you need a well powered engine if you're driving on typical congested metropolitan roads? So you can exceed the average trip speed of around 45km? 🤣
I was waiting for this review, glad to see an honest wrap. It would be great to see a comparison video between the Outlander, Tuscon, Rav4 and Sportage when they are all available
The ASX competes with those vehicles you listed, not the Outlander
@@TheFieldy107 Actually the Eclipse Cross would be a closer comparasion
Those were the 4 cars I compared and test drove. Test drove the new outlander last week finally. Picking up my 2022 outlander in 2 days. Loved it!
@@unicornarmy999 whats the wait time ? Thanks.
Ur reviews are always relevant. Thanks Paul
Thanks mate!
Amazing reviews love the channel ! Please definitely add car seats and pram scenes I would definitely be interested in seeing that on your car videos. I’m sure a lot of others would too 😊
Another great review again.Always enjoy.Thanks a lot.
Top review, Paul, as always. Thanks mate.
I love your reviews!
This car is THE one!
CVT... well, it is what it is, life goes on. It is still awesome!!
Love your reviews...I like Aussie car reviews since it's so much "closer" to where I am(South East Asia).Climate closer to what we get here too. Also, I've been to Australia, well Perth,so I'm somewhat familiar with the roads there so I can relate to the driving impression you give on the cars.Keep up the good work mate! 😃
How dis you get this !! Oh well done ! Finally it's here ! Cant wait to watch , ok I'm watching now !!!
Magic!
Yes Paul! Love to see a baby seat segment! Congrats, I am about to be a new dad as well 🙂.
Checked with dealer…unlike most rivals in the category.Models from Aspire and above offer “Heads up” Display. Top of the spec is Exceed Tourer which offers Massage seats and exterior dual tone with no extra cost for metallic colours in addition to what exceed offers.Nice review…very useful!!
Great review Paul as always. Don’t change the routine. So it’s a very strong no vote from for baby seat segment - or at the very least include it at the very very end of the review
Always waiting for your new videos update mate. 👍
Great idea to put in a section about the babyseats in cars.
I love this car!
Hey mate been watching all your reviews over the years having kids and all. Now having a 3rd in couple months and struggling to find any reviews on vehicles that can actually fit 3 baby seats in with ease.
Be good to see all reviews incorporate how many seats can fit and even rear facing and what leg room if any left in front seats 👍
Would love to see more on baby/child seats Paul. Particularly how functional it still is with more than one seat. So many cars have no room in the middle if there's two seats in the 2nd row or its impractical to get to the third row if a seat has to go there.
Comprehensive review thanks! Subscribed too 👍
Love your review Paul.
A baby seat install then you sitting in the front seat would be great. Both our Qashqai and Hilux have less than ideal legroom in the front once the newborn capsule is installed.
Also a pram in the boot is a good visual for boot space. My wife wants a hilux now that the little one is here and I got my new Lux..
Thanks for the reviews!
Never been a fan of Outlander’s design but I quite like this one. Looks more commanding and noticeable. It was much needed when there are 7 seaters like Santa Fe & Sorrento to compete with. Yes if you can show how a baby seat and a booster seat fits in that would help lot of families. Keep up the great work. Cheers 👍
Always love your reviews. Yes if you could show how much space for front passenger when you put the baby seat in rear facing....etc
front seat upper back pockets are fantastic ideas. great job.
Hi Paul, we are buying an outlander ES. Thanks for your effort for reviewing the outlander. I have been following you when I lived in NZ. Now living in Bendigo, Vic. 😊
hi im lookin at this car , are you happy with your purchase no buyers regret at all
Thanks for adding the baby seats’ portion.
This new Outlander is so beautiful! I cannot wait to see it come into my country. Hopefully it will. Haha! Im in love with it's new design with great interior design. The dynamic shield pattern on it is sweet!
Well done Paul nice review.
Great review @paulmaric :) thank you. I have a couple of feedback items:
1. For some cars there would be a decent likelihood that people will tow stuff .. trailer, caravan etc. Some commentary about towing capacity/performance could be useful.
2. Regarding the test of the cup holder, very useful. However doing this test with a reusable cup might be putting forward a better message :)
Keep the content coming - it's great!
Yup, because the only thing that persudes someone to buy a car is the cup holder...
Judging from the initial response to the PHEV version in Japan among Japanese reviewers, it could become a serious dark horse as well. Would love to see you review that when that becomes available
Congrats on bubs Paul!
The red paint suits that car really well i think i would certainly want that colour if i was to get that car!
yes especially in two-tone paint in black it looks nice
The red is great. You can get two-tone with the Exceed Tourer as well.
Great video as always Paul! I wonder if you could somehow show or talk briefly about the floor carpet in each car you review. It’s always overlooked by 99% of journos but is an important part of the interior of a car. And carpet quality can vary hugely. I’m a car Detailer and it never ceases to amaze me how poor the quality of carpet is in premium cars and top spec models of cars, and it’s getting worse every year it seems. Just a thought mate, I wonder if you could somehow take a few seconds to include the carpet in each car you review
Hey, love the videos.
Just wondering if a video on the new Audi q5 is coming along soon.
The design is amazing and I would say presently the best looking car out there..
Good review mate think I might look at the new Nissan Pathfinder
I actually saw you driving this car! I was very confused until the video
Was very excited about this vehicle. I tested today: My driving experience was 6/10. Steering wheel was not smooth at all. Middle of front hood vibrate without noise. Car seems struggling and fuel average was 13L/100km.
Yup, gutless wonder and that front end... No thanks. Try a Ford Escape, I think you'll be pleasantly suprised...
As always great review! Looking forward to Subaru Forester 2022 review…
A great report Paul. The machine finish on the wheels was well described, another description for the wheel finish could be the brushed-nickel appearance, ofcourse works well with the black.
The Mitsubishi/Nissan/Renault alliance has given Mitsubishi a less of a hold on the hardware these cars are made with. This new Outlander, having Nissan frame, Nissan engine and Nissan infotainment system, Nissan/Mitsubishi body design and just a Mitsubishi badge!
The side profile looks great, the front not so, in my opinion. Also completely agree with you about rear indicator bulbs. This bothered me on the last Outlander too!
Thx Paul, I have one on order arriving later this month, VRX model in NZ, its the top spec here whihc I think is same as Aus Exeed model, I decided to ditch getting the Haval H6 for this, it blows the H6 away for a little more. My outdated 2020 Xtrail traded in for this beast, cant wait!!!
I have purchased a PHEV ÀWD OUTLANDER and it is an excellent vehicle offering a very peaceful drive supported by great instrumentation and new technology. Value for money in every respect.
I just bought an LS in red. Awaiting its arrival next month.
Wanted an Aspire but that meant an extra 3 month wait.
Will fork out for aftermarket leather trim and 20” wheels I guess.
Thank you for showing the vehicle and how you would use the car in real life. love the trail of car seats
Thanks for the great review!!
I'm interested in getting this model for my family of 6 (four young children). I'd love to see how this car deals with 4 baby seats, or alternatively 3 baby seats and a booster seat.
Hi Paul, would love to see your review of the 2022 Outlander PHEV! I wonder if that will be punchier…
Also yes would appreciate a car seat & pram in the boot section showing how much space, how easy to put in and whether multiple car seats fit practically.
Cheers and keep up your great work!
Hoping to get our hands on one soon!
Be great to see how three child seats fit in the middle row. Great review. Cheers
Really like the look of the new design..
I have the 2019 4wd.. 2.4Lt.. outlander..
It’s a very capable vehicle.. great on dirt tracks aswell. (never tried mud)
so no doubt newer model is an upgrade.:
But I like/need my large glove box and have much more space in the centre console..
Think I’ll wait before upgrading.. or might look at competitors
Great review BTW..
158k subscribers!! Should be way more
Great review.
This is really good looking outlander...loved it! Great review as always Pavl 🤘🏻
Really great detail. Some presenters are really biased but you carried the goods and the bads well. I've have 2 outlanders (2018 and 2020) and just bought the MY22 Aspire (I wanted that 12" digital dash. I've seen a bit in the clips that I'll look forward to checking out when mine arrives. Did you mention the paddle shifters or did I miss that point ? Defiantly more fancy that the previous shape, but the also a bigger cost. 10/10 for the review.
This looks the best out of all of them. Looks like a proper mitsu. I lov Mitsubishi and toyota and lexus.
Finally. Wait is over
Looks good, I like the typical Mitsubishi ‘rough around the edges’ look at the front of the car. Paul do you know if any of the other variants have the digital dash or is it just the top spec model?
Bought Aspire Variant S-AWC. Its so, nice to drive. Enough power for my need and plenty of features for the price. Going for awd rather than fwd was best decision, considering how wet the roads has been for past couple of days here in sydney. Best awd system compared to other Suv’s from similar price category.
G'day legend! I'd be keen to see how easy a baby seat fits etc. we have a 4 month old and are looking to upgrade to the Outlander
Awesome vehicle, I think that Mitsubishi works pretty well on the interior and the exterior design in the street looks like differently from any car, for me, remember an exclusive and futuristic car.
Awesome if you mean for Addams Family car.
FINALLY AN OUTLANDER
Great reviews thankyou 👏👏👏👏🙋♀️
Thnx mate great review
One of my favourite reviewers. In terms of baby seats: the outlander had this annoying inflexible middle buckle that protruded in previous models. It did not allow you to add a middle baby seat. Looks like that is gone. What I like to see is if it fits baby seats in all seats (not simultaneously necessarily) and where the tethers are (roof or back of seat). Cheers
I regret trading off my 2017 Outlander GT. Decent mileage, plenty of cargo room, 6 speed transmission, paddle shifters, would tow 3500, 5 year BTB and 10 year driver train warranty, and the best AWD system I've ever seen. In the Winter when no one was around, I tried in the snow to get it to slide around corners and couldn't. They don't hold value well and after 2.5 years, decided to trade it while it still retained some.
Please include baby seats into your segments, would love to see how it fits, the access and space you get as well!
A good review again ,,👍.... anything on the cabin noise?
Another great review Paul. How about the new subaru forester?
Great video. Would buy
G'day Paul,
Great review as usual. To your question about kids seats, what would be great to know is:
1. How difficult are they to put in, you always end up swapping them around a bit
2. Can you fit 3 car seats and does it work? ie 3 across or 2 in centre row and 1 in 3rd row and still have access
3. ISO or top tether, and which seats include that - can you put iso or top tether in 3rd row.
These modern SUVs take the place of family wagons from 15-20 years ago, and these days with a legal requirement that kids be in kids seats until they're 7, it's getting difficult to carry 3 kids without going to something as big and unwieldy as a Kia Carnival. Nothing like trying to park something that is the same external dimensions as a standard parking space, doesn't leave much slack!
Thanks!
Agree on all of this.
The manufacturers also like to trick you… Santa Fe has no 3rd row top feathers, but Sorento does. Neither has 3rd row airbags. This sort of stuff is important to me.
Shout out to babydrive who do cover a lot of this, but I wish all the reviewers were doing it.
Excellent review Paul. AND CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING A FATHER.
Congratulations daddy! PS good review too :)
Seen one the other day, had to look twice to see what car is was. Really nice looking car especially at night with the lights design etc
Nice vid! Plus I'm the 1000th like
We have a baby on the way and love your reviews. My wife and I both watch your reviews together. Would love to know if a pram fits in the boot and how car seats goes in the second row.
We used to have the previous model and the boot was huge. Pram fitted perfectly 👍
Hi Paul
Would be great if you can show the booth space with a pram , I always look up for bigger space having two kids
The screen isn't laggy. Its just the input detection latency that's high.
Lag happens when you have frame drops
Great video as always, but being a dad of two, I always wonder if the back role/ middle role of a family car/ suv will fit 2 child seats plus a grandma/grandad. Would be great if you could cover that in future episodes. Cheers!
Should be able to, just put the child seats in the 3rd row, as adult passenger room back there will be a squeeze
