Great tutorial video thanks a lot. I would love to see how you manage the skipped pins when assembling the parts. Hard to figure out without seing the result 😊
I just came in from my garage after attempting to make a sample piece to see if my idea worked. It did not! As most guys I was thinking that the jig would be fairly straight forward. So what I did was draw a reference line across the top of the wood block, then I lined up two pieces of wood on each side thinking I could cut the tails then turn the jig and cut the pins and they would match up....they did not. I also noticed that you had the router bushing much closer to the top of the jig than I did. I'm not giving up I will figure it out.
The jig instructions should give you the exact size of the wood block the jig attaches to. The tightness of the tails are adjusted by that and the height of the bit. You will get it.
I dont have the instruction manual. How thick is the piece of wood you used for the jig? Mine measures out at approx. 2 inches thick @@ebenezerwoodworking3616Happy Thanksging
Thanks for sharing, I have a Keller Jig too. Never tried the router table with it, as it happens I have the same Veritas Router Table!~ Have you ever put stop blocks on the jigs to do repetitive cuts that don't need to be measured every time ...say for making multiple drawers? Thanks again.......
When you buy the jig it will come with a dovetail and straight bit. You can get replacements from some of the major bit manufacturers such as Amana and Whiteside.

I agree that I am not the most polished video maker out there. However, my intention was to show the advantage of using the jig on the router table. The basic jig instructions will show you how to sit the bit height. Have a blessed day.
Why you being so nasty? This good ole boy took the time to demonstrate how to use the jig on a router table. I also appreciate how he shows how you can skip a tail to make look more interesting. He obviously spends more time working with wood than video producing. Give the guy a break.
I like my Keller jig. I need to play around more with it and try a wide board like you did. That’s a good idea skipping some pins to add some more character to the joint. Thanks for the video.

He seems to skip some pins but left all the tails in. Maybe that's why we didn't see the finished joint.
The tails are sawn out afterwards to create the look.
I will saw out the extra parts to create the hand cut look.

Yes. I usually just draw a vertical line on the jig but blocks work good to.
