      In Mexico my school held a piñata competition every year before Christmas holidays.
      Each classroom would have to come up with a cool design/idea and we would make it using the balloon method.
      It was tons of fun, because the day of the contest the entire building of the school was decorated with the piñatas we made.
      Those were the days...

    I don't know what that poor pinata lady is going through, but she looks like she's going to jump off a bridge the second the camera crew leaves. This is made all the worse with all those warped, horrifying disney characters surrounding her from all sides in the background, staring off into space nearly as vacantly as she is. I weep for her. Life continually beats her down, and all that falls out.... is candy.

    Pinatas were brought to Spain by the Italians. Originally called a Pignata, made from clay pots, and meant for adults. They filled them with booze. The Italians took the tradition to Spain, who decided that it was debaucherous to have an item like that (booze filled) and changed the way they were used, adding candy and trinkets for the children. The missionaries decided to add Christianity to it, but the creators most certainly NEVER intended it to be a way to convert anyone, it was a drunken game by a bunch of Italians. Now Mexicans use it for Jedi training😂😂😂
    I am both Mexican and Italian, and ACTUALLY wrote a paper on the origin of the pinata in college.

To this day i literally can't stand to even watch kids whack at that thing 🤣

  • @3xfaster
    @3xfaster 2 года назад +1

    Huh, the clay pot method seems time consuming, I’m sure the final blow is really satisfying tho. The balloon method has a lot of wiff when striking it, you might end up with a kick getting overzealous in their swing. But then, that’s why you have the kids standing far away from the action

    • @AyuNico
      @AyuNico 11 месяцев назад

      Balloon pinatas are a lot more flare because on top of the piñatas being able to be moved way faster and swinging farther, kids can now all jump in to get candy when it's finally broken. Clay piñatas are a bit dangerous if you jump right when they are broken because the pieces can be a bit sharp for the children.
