Lots of people hate it, but honestly i love the rebuild and the whole reality loop thing. Its not a reboot , its the result of shinji trying to put reality back together after End of Evangelion. The sheer off the walls nature of the combat is also incredible, and 3d doesn't always detract, sometimes it helps the animators do thing that would otherwise be hell to fully realize, a good example being rebuild ramiel.
I think people mostly dislike it because it has become so different. Obviously, a rebuild wouldn't be the same, but I feel like it got more.. cartoony, if that makes sense? Floating mega-ships built from the body of an eva, mech-soldiers, and more. I enjoyed it, definitely, but I don't know why they went down that route. Also, the fan service, I fucking hate fan service, the excuse of a 'curse' that kept Asuka looking like a child? Gross as hell.

I love that the 44A references to the sniper that shinji used to destroy Ramiel back in 1.0 but just heavily upgraded and made to be mobile instead of stationary. Super cool designs.
A lot of work went into this. It is of high quality and exceeding mechanical beauty. I am too sober at the moment to truly enjoy it the way it deserves.
I am so glad the creators have been focusing on the fight scenes. There was so much work put into this. I've been a fan since the TV show came out in the 90s. Anime now a days is so weird and not much to it. Evagelion is still great to this day ❤❤

Very good sfx, although I have a little note. The sparks that size(considering how big evas are) probably sound more like dozens of lightning strike or thunder all at once. Physically speaking.
I may be completely wrong, but with the energies involved the positron gun would probably sound like a nuclear war being sprayed out of a flame thrower, my understanding is this is a gamma radiation laser (its probably even worse if it fires positrons) capable of superheating steel to melting point instantly and for every 100 meters it travels it dumps half its energy into the air turning it into plasma, the electricity jumping to the gun is gonna be the same level of sound too... I don't think a sane person would expect someone to actually try to make that sound
This is really damn good, the volume swinging in and out to indicate distance is a great touch The only criticism I’d have is that the scale is lost somewhat when the long shots are used, but a simple delay would account for that, depending on if the angle is in the air or on the ground for different frequency ranges. but other than that it’s damn solid

In the Rebuild timeline, there are multiple NERV facilities scattered throughout the world that manufacture parts. They likely salvaged what they could from said facilities that weren't under Gendo’s control.
This looks and feels out of touch with reality. More dreamy than the original which was brutally “realistic” in essence. However, this isn’t bad but completely estranged from the originals.

i honestly think it was a miss oportinity for the script writers of 3.0+1.0 to make mark 08B use the belts from the gatling gun as whips as a form of shadowing for 08Y plasma whip

Every part of this is spectacular, I especially love the sounds for thr EVA just moving / turning, makes it feel very weighty and mechanical. Ive always really wanted to get into sound design like this myself but I have no idea where to start, what kinda programs do you use? Only audio related things ive experimented with are things like Ableton but I dont know what to pair with it to make anything on this level.
Nerv is evil now and created fake ass eva/angels to create the 4th impact so Ghendo can re unite with Yui and the pink eva is a new chick named Mari who is working with Misato and Ritsuko and Asuka to to stop Ghendo and Shinji. Later on Shinji and Rei leave to a village with Asuka after a huge fight and meet Tohji and Kensuke then Rei kills herself, only for shinji to fight his father. basically sum it up kinda

You ain’t the only one. We started out as teens climbing inside giant mechs fighting these angels type monsters and keeping them from getting at something deep underground to cause some kind of apocalypse.
