What about Twente? Relegated 6 years ago, almost relegated in 2020 with the Eredivisie season abandoned, lost in the Conference League playoffs twice - last season against finalists Fiorentina and this season against quarterfinalists Fenerbahçe, to now qualifying for the Champions League 3QR.
Actually really glad that you pointed out FC Twente 😄, at least this year a European group stage (EL) is already secured. Had some bad luck in the draws last seasons, let’s hope we can compete this season. CL qualifications it is 🥳

i’m not a fan of the new format, but i don’t get how it prevents underdog stories?
It won’t fully prevent them, it’ll just make it more difficult for them to continue to the knockout round. In the current format, you play 3 game, which decide your placing; however, in the new format, there will be I believe ten games before the knockouts, making it more unlikely for a small, underdog team to go through

When u realise Leverkusen was never a small club. They are playing in champions league almost every year( so top 4 in Bundesliga). They even reached a champions League final.

Stuttgart isn't a small club either. They are 4th in the all time Bundesliga table. They just had a bad decade of mismanagement. Before that they constantly played internationally and even won a championship.

The best part of the next season is since Girona got a UCL spot, it means 115 FC won't be playing in UCL since they have the same owner as Girona which is not allowed in UEFA's law. In case some people are wondering why Leipzig and Salzburg gets to play at the same time is because Red Bull is just a sponsorship for Leipzig while they technically own Salzburg.

What about Egnatia in Albania. After winning the third division in 2016-17 they had a rough time in the second division until shockingly finishing first in their group. They shockingly beat the sleeping giants Dinamo Tirana to win the second division in 2021. After two decent seasons in the Kategoria Superiore, They secured Conference League football ater finishing third. After losing to Ararat-Armenia in the first round they were finished first and then they beat Partizani,the defending champions to win the league and to bring Champions League football to Rrogozhine, a city with a population of 20k.
