15 Heartwarming Things Between Collei And Amber
Collei's very first friend was Amber.
She used to distrust and avoid people.
Collei admires Amber and tries to imitate her.
She wears Vision on the same side and position as Amber.
It was Amber who inspired Collei to use a slingshot and bow.
Collei's first and second Normal attacks are quite similar to Amber.
Collei learns and imitates Amber's greeting.

A combination of Collei and Amber's names.
She was a little shy when asked about it.
Collei and Amber's namecards both feature their dolls.
The way she throws it is also quite similar to Amber.
Collei's animation is more detailed and polished.
Collei imitated Amber and called herself the Gliding Champion of Sumeru.
Collei's favorite food is the one she got from Amber.
Collei admires Amber and believes Amber always does the right thing.
Collei just doesn't know that Amber has made a couple of mistakes like breaking the rules and having her license revoked.

Another wholesome bit about their dynamic, is that she and Amber have been writing letters to one another. Most of the time Tighnari is the one reading those letter for her, because of her illiteracy issues.
Lisa is the one who taugh Collei how to read and write. And on her voiceline, she still call her "Little Collei".
She is worried about teased by Kaeya. Showing that she harbors no grudge against him.
Collei likes reading Light Novels from Inazuma. But she also thinks their dialogue can be too cringey, which could be an roast about her younger self.
For that last one she's specifically calling out the idea of romanticizing when characters having some forbidden power sealed within them, because she knows firsthand that being in that situation actually sucks.
For f**king sake Genshin if a future sumeru update doesn't involve a reunion

i think colleis attacks are slower because of her illness. genshin really pays attention to details
You could see she stumbles a bit and is a bit clumsy when she throws her elemental skill too, makes her look cute but knowing the reason why is kind of sad

Not just slower but they feel a little bit more clunky and awkward, they really really know what they’re doing when it comes to details

Although it doesn't really factor into gameplay, she also mentions that she isn't good at climbing. That plus all the details mentioned here makes sense when you realize that one of the areas we see that Eleazar seems to affect most is the arms.
Their friendship is really wholesome!

Collei is very precious. And it occurred to me how the very first character we meet from each region is very wholesome and sweet.
Amber/Xingling/Thoma(Kazuha is from Inazuma but he is technically a wonderer so i didn't count him although he too is very sweet)/Collei

4:28 she broke her own rules just for collei to enjoy what is life, remember when we got the quest for gliding license, she said "no carrying people" or something i just forgot, while in the manga, she brings collei into some gliding ride.
While it was cute, Amber has actually lost her gliding licence multiple times because she has broken a variety of the gliding rules💀
In a darker setting, there are drawbacks in putting your role model on a pedestal like this. The moment the person she looks up to made a grave mistake, it will all come crashing down real hard.
The most fundamental basis for respect is acknowledging and working around said flaws, and it's not like Amber presented herself as being flawless either- In fact Collei found her as overbearing as I do to much of my more "sweet" friends yet she still respected Amber (and the people of Mondstadt) not for being sweet, but for accepting her in spite of her condition. And in gratitude, and improving herself not for the sake of becoming Amber but for the sake of what she thinks is right, now pursues the help of those that needs it, much like she was in the past
Cuilein-Anbar also sounds like "Calling Amber!" 💞💞

The update where you realize it was worth it to read the manga
i read manga (chapter 13) so much before 3.0 leaks and it helped alot to understand collei in game.
That first and second basic attack melts my heart cause it shows that how much Collei learned from amber
I heard somewhere that all Collei basic attack was based on Amber's but because Collei is sick she couldn't do the couple last basic attack properly

Collei first and second normal attack really resembles a slingshot. Putting down the bow where amber doesnt and closing her hand after second shot like readying for a second slingshot. Hoyo really know their stuff
Not really a detail but kind of a depressing coincidence is that Collei’s EN Voice Actress is also pretty sick with a disease of her own to the point of surgery. Doesn’t seem to keep her down too much though, she even cosplayed as her recently lol
Also, I don't think you mentioned it, but Collei's special dish description (which is technically written by the Traveller) acknowledge that it is a nod to Amber.
Like klee and yoimiya in inazuma festival, i wish one day they meet eachother in game and just run around mondstadt and tell eachother's stories. That would be fricking awesome

idk about that, i know Collei loves Amber but i always viewed it more as a sisterly or mother and adopted child thing where as Amber and Eula i view as a romantic thing. I think they would enjoy spending time together, it might take some getting used too but i think that the 3 of them, Lisa and my Lumine (and Paimon as long as she behaves) could have a girl's night out!!!

She kinda annoys me tbh. I know that her admiration for Amber and all the things she imitates from her come from a very dark back story since after all that suffering Amber was the first one to truly give her comfort, but it just comes off as REALLY excessive. It's like she can't live unless she's EXACTLY like her. She could have some ornaments that were alike to those Amber uses and imitates her attacks a little but goddamn it's essentially harder to find something about Collei that DOESN'T resemble Amber than to do the opposite.
