Well, I guess I could call you MY ELMER :) I know you might think your videos are old and maybe outdated, but to us who are just starting or getting back into the hobby, watching these videos really put the spark in things. Thanks for the info and .pdf, I too am off to the store to get some parts ;) Thanks
I see you found some videos from my buddy David. Funny just how small the world is sometimes.
Omg yea. Searching for some 6 meter 2 meter and 79cm antennas. Thus guy has his poo together :) instructions are magnificent.
99% of the videos out there are for more permanent antennas. I, like him need quick mobile types that do not take up much room. He has just what I was looking for. Bug Out Bag ....
+Robert Alan Carter (W0QFW) Check on Dave Tadlock's page for his vertical 2m/70cm dipole. my first build and it works great. very small footprint and easy to put together. Let me know if you need help with it, I am hitting a repeater that is about 15 miles as the crow flies from my house on 5 watts with a 5 9 9 report on the repeater.
I was very impressed with your center feed point idea. Using PVC like you did was very creative. I liked the idea that you took into consideration of added a short extension on the top so you could include 2 meters.
Great job !
Barry, KU3X
That is a nice compliment!
It would be quicker and less expensive for you to get two heavy duty whips and a Versa-Tee with coax feed from BuddiPole.
Unfortunately I have no time to build these for folks . . . I am already behind on my own list of things to do!
I did post a PDF instructional manual if you do want to press on to build your own. I added the link to the notes above.
73!
hey doc i just want to let you know how you could better that antenna i took your plans and upgrated some parts to it and got alot more rooms for maybe two antenn setup like your arrow and a diple would love to share my idea with
the cloud that you up loade the pdf i got pay for sub and i cant get it if i dont so maybe you might want to look other ways for people to get that pdf who dont want to pay for something they not going to use just to get a pdf
David,
Another excellent video (as usual!).
You’ve inspired me to build your antenna and take a closer look at 6 meters.
All the best,
73
John/W5CYF
U Rawk Doc! Thanks for sharing. You're a great inspiration and your enthusiasm is contagious. Best wishes from KI6AQV Thanks for your service; 73, brother.
Great update on this antenna David, going to build my own and try it out on my military mast at 48'. Keep up the great ham radio videos, hope to catch you on the magic band.
73!
Great info David, I've got the Ham bug now and will be taking my test later this month, looking forward to some more videos. Thanks for sharing
My compliments, looks a great antenna.
Wonder what the overall length is?
Hey Doc thanks for the video of a closer look at the antenna and details about it. Looking forward to the PDF.

Thanks for the video. Cheers from Hillsboro.
+Thumbpicker FPV - Thank you!!
great job on some awesome creativity. so now off to the hardware store for parts
slick build, love the secret missions
@WE0H - good thought . . . not sure how well that would work with the chrome plating . . .
Excellent video about a 6 Meter antenna
+Tony Ridlen - Thank you 🙏 73
Thanks for the build info. New to antenna building so I found it quite interesting and quite useful. Great stuff! Could you show a diagram, hardware list and model of antenna of how you attached the extra 2m antenna. 73's! Dave N3XWG
I once did that fix but instead of using a center punch (didn’t have one available) I used a tubing cutter and ran it around being careful not to cut through but shrinking the metal .
Do you have a video that shows this being built?
The goat guy (WG0AT) and Randy, I like them too. That's a nice build. 73

Looking forward to the PDF. What interests me most, in addition to being able to use the BP whips, should be the ability to substitute wire for a wire dipole on other HF bands. Is there a on-line reference to the bushings from G0AT?
Very nice job and great documentation.
I got the pdf that time. Now for to get the parts. Thanks again

@flashMXdesigner - working on it . . . stay tuned!
Could this be adapted to a 2m, 70cm dipole
yes it can if u get the longer whip antennas from buddy pole they should be long enough to make a 2m dipole not sure about the 70cm i would think that it would. And you could easly adapt the design for a jpole configuration as well
Great Video Doc!!!! Giving me more ideas....
Does the iron pipe mast that you use causes interference? I thought a non-conductive material is recommended
Excellent vid, David. Aloha, J.
Nice video!
Could that threaded insert in the whip be sweat soldered?
Mike
USNERDOC - Question, how much did it cost you in 2011 and how much would it cost today?
Followup Question: Would you be able to put a kit together and ship to my QTH in Sweden? Of course I would pay in advance. Reason being I can't seem to find parts here.
Link did not work here.
KF7ETX - A nice video.... & I hope you don't just keep yourself at the tech level, I highly recommend you bump up your license level as soon as you can.... Doug, K5DHL
Duracoat the crome parts and make it a stealth antenna
I too am interested in building this, is there a link somewhere here to the pdf? 73 - David
Can this antenna be made for 10 meters.......
Going to build this antenna for 10 meters.........
Send on the PDF!
You could sell this thing
+John Henry - No, but they are fun and easy to build 👊🏻
Could you use this as a possible
Scanner Antana?
+Chris Walport , if you want a good scanner type of receive only antenna do a search on wide band discone or split discone antennas. Those work great for scanners, but you will need to get them up about 30' in the air to see them really shine. This specific antenna build is for the 6m amateur radio band. The element lengths will be different for the type of radio waves you are trying to catch with your scanner.
cool! Thanks!
+dr_wx - Thank you 🙏 for watching!
thanks for sharing!
Can this 6m Dipole connect to a BaoFeng handheld?
I don't think BaoFeng makes a 6m transceiver, only 2m and 70 cm (at least that I'm aware of)
tried to access the pdf but would open.

The file is a PDF with a bill of materials and photos of the assembly process.
Can you make me this Antenna???
+Roger Fethkenher - I unfortunately don’t have spare time available to make this antenna for sale. Fortunately it is a very easy build. 73
PS: Paint it exactly the same color as the side of your house so the neighbors will not know what it is
