Cool I plan on getting one in the future. When am done with high school and have the money to get one. I have been a fan of the DeLorean for a long time and it my favourite car. Have you had any trouble with it the first time you got it? and does it have the original engine if not what kind does it have?
John Hernandez It has some quirks... you have to watch out for leaks due to the doors, etc. They do have some weird things. Still, they are very fun and if you take care of it and drive it semi-regularly they're reliable. Mine is, and gives me no trouble. The engine is original but upgraded to DMC Houston's Stage II, with stainless steel exhaust. Everything on mine is original except interior lights, radio, speedometer, engine upgrades, springs, and shocks (to return it to originally designed ride height).
Close to mine :-) I have VIN 1255. Btw your info on the rear antenne on your car due to being a transition period car is not correct. You have the rear antenna because someone but it in later. A car from May 81 only had the windscreen antenna!
Interesting... I was never told it was added after. The antenna definitely looks original. I did wonder since my reception isn't good on the radio I have, if they accidentally plugged the windshield antenna in instead of the rear one.
Actually, if you watch any scene in bttf you should very obviously notice that the car is definitely not the American regulated raised suspension. When the movie cars were built they were also lowered to original spec. Also if you car was in fact built in May of 81, then your wheels are not original. They should be gray, not the later silver wheels. Hardly any, if any, cars were built with gas door hoods and silver wheels. Gray wheels were fitted til at least July of 81.
Awesome.
Very, very cool.
I've got an 83 with the motorized rear antenna. I never have it up, but when it is, I always think it looks like an R/C car.
mine is rarely up too. I have to admit, that's partially because I don't like how it looks with it up.
De de deloreannnnn
Amazing nice video Sedated2000 hope you have a amazing time with it :D and when did you get it?
Thanks! I love it. It was my dream car. I've had it for three months now.

Good idea to check what is plugged in. But no doubt its an original antenna...just fitted later by someone in the past.
your user name is program, isn't it. Great car though! Thanks for the video
turbine1974 I shortened it from my old gamer nickname I had as a kid, but it is also a Unix program. Thanks for checking it out!
