    Francisco my friend you should tell people after EGR Actuator replacement, we need to do little bit of computer work , " EGR Actuator need to be programed " overall you are good man !

    Buenas noches francisco me podria dar una segerencia mi camion tiene el codigo spn3058 fmi 9 ya le cambiaron el egr actuator ya le cambie el delta sensor y el manifold sensor pero todabia tengo el codigo prendido tendre que cambiar el harness por igual o seria necesario actualisar el ecm antemano gracias

    You must retrain the egr valve after replacement. A sweep test must be preformed also. Only done Detroit Diagnostics. You can physically watch to see if it sweeps when you turn the key but a manual sweep test and recalibrations is needed in the software.

    Is it necessary to replace the egr actuator on a 2010 cascadia that has been deleted. If so, does the actuator have to be calibered? When replaced? The old actuator has a leak.

    My egr linkage seems to move when it wants to. But I am experiencing the problems that you point out in your video about the Delta sensor and carbon build up. Would you suggest replacing the Delta sensor first? And checking the pipe to see if it is clear before replacing EGR Actuator?

    Que tal Francisco. Seguido miro sus vídeos. Muy buenos yo tengo un problema. Con mi truck es 2012. Con Cummins isx 2013 tengo como mes y medio que le pusieron ese motor. Pero desde que lo pusieron me falla en las subidas. Como que se le corta la fuerza pos segundos y empieza de nuevo. Me ase como unas 6 veces solo en la subida no me da engine light y los mecánicos. No le Allan. Me podría ayudar

    Holla Francisco, I have a 2015 freightliner cascadia with a dd15. My code is 3058/9 and the software is telling me to replace the ECM. How is that making any sense? What do you think I should do? I replace the delta pressure sensor already n nothing.

    Hi Francisco,
    Just need some insight on a very stupid problem with my 2012 cascadia with dd15.
    Code is Spn 2791 fail 14
    Changed Egr actuator
    Changed engine harness
    The code still comes up when I start the engine and start rolling. But then goes away. It happens if shut off engine and start rolling, if i wait a little bit before rolling then no code.
    Can you suggest something what to look everytime mechanic hooks to the computer there are no active codes. Computer says happened only once when I started rolling and then no repetitions. Any suggestions please.

      I had the same issue three days ago, truck was park for two days, the third day I started few seconds later two check engine lights came on with the spn 2791 fmi18 Emmission system will derete 25%. I reset the power five minutes and then started again no code, I’m driving the third day no code, what’s your thoughts please Thnks

      They don't make the older actuator anymore for those motors.. so you need the new kit for 1300

    Hey Francisco thank you for putting this video together because I found it to be really helpful. No I have a question because I replace the EGR valve actuator just like how you show in the video by the computer keeps flashing a code for the valve actuator motor fail safe and it won’t go away. It seems to me like it’s not detecting the new EGR actuator. Any ideas what to do?

      That will depend on the amount of coolant it is leaking.
      If it is a lot, I recommend you to replace it.

    @Francisco- I have a 2014 Cascadia with a DD15. It has the delete installed. It has exhaust in the coolant (I did a test). It is losing coolant someplace. Could the O-ring in the EGR valve body cause the exhaust to enter the coolant? Would I see coolant when removing the hose in the manifold from the EGR? I see no antifreeze there now. Dry as a bone. I don't see any external leaks from the EGR either.
    What do you think? Could it be blown head gasket?

    maestro, what are symptoms are bad EGR actuator? does it give you engine light or noises, or what? in what basis you decided to replace that part? or what's the lifetime for that egr actuator?

      Yes, it does turn the CEL on and sometimes it leaks coolant.
      Around 600k miles.

    I got 2011 cascadia dd15
    I got the same code and we did change the egr actuator.
    Now i still got same code with both check engine comes on.the one with chek in it is dissapeiring after a few moment and yellow engine light stay son .after the both go off. And come back again...when I check the code it's still 2791 fm14 .
    Do you have any other idea can cause this?

      Ive got the same thing happening. Lights come on, truck loses power, lights go off and the truck runs fine again. I was wondering if i should replace the actuator or not

    I have replaced, the EGR valve actuator, wiring harness, ECM and new filters
    I am still getting fault for "egr valve actuator no failsafe mode"
    I have gotten my truck's ECM updated and I don't know what else to look for. Can you please help

      Check the harness plug but sometimes the EGR actuator comes defective from factory.

      maurtice logan need to have your Nox sensor checked for bias sensor.. If you have the diagnostic link you can unplug the Def doser electrical connection and run a low temp ATD and make sure that the sensors are within 50ppm of each other.. usually you have replace the outlet Nox sensor. Other issues has been def build up around the def doser you could also fix this issue by burning off excessive def with it also unplug.. but you will have to figure out why it’s using so much def or issue will come back.. good luck

    Francisco,I noticed black in my coolant reservoir,and noticed pinkish (coolant color) around the egr actuator,plus coolant is being pushed out out of the reservoir thru the top cap...Would replacing this stop the blackness in the reservoir? I thinks is exhaust fumes.

      The most common cause of the black material in the coolant tank is the oil cooler seals.
      The coolant leak in the EGR actuator is a bad EGR actuator

      @@franciscoamayaYT I ll have it looked at by the tech,the egr stopped leaking,but the coolant is going into the reservoir overflow part of the tank,but the coolant level is at normal level,and coolant is still being pushed out thru the reservoir cap...too much pressure I guess.

      @@franciscoamayaYT Prior to this,I had the oil cooler replaced,bc I had lots of oil in the coolant/reservoir,but I never had temperature issues,I flushed it out until it was clean,replaced the reservoir and coolant as well.
      Then the reservoir got darker,but that could be bc as much as I flushed it out it,there must be oil residue left in the cooling system,enough to darken the reservoir.
      But what worries me is the coolant going into the overflow and out thru the reservoir's cap...could it be back pressure? but there are no overheat or abnormal temp issues.

    Francisco , I have a 2013 freight liner cascadia DD15 starting losing power off and on fault codes injectors 1,2,3 so we had injectors rebuilt still same issue soon as we drove it about 30 miles check engine light on again and lost power we replaced outside harness and inside engine wires. Engine light Will go away if we shut truck off wait 5-10 min and will run fine until 20-30 miles and will lose power again and check engine light on. Still have injector 1,2,3 fault codes. Not sure what to do now. Any ideas what else it can be?

      Ben Gonzalez when they rebuilt or replaced injectors did they replace the injector harness for those injectors.. usually if you pull the first injector harness connection you see oil inside I would bet the harness is bad.

      Once you finish the replacement you'll have to dive into dd and preform recalibration. This driver waited to long a regen was needed. Remember regens are only supposed to be for diagnostics if they are completed in a manual mode. All others like passive the truck does it for soot removal.

    THANK U BRO. Is it worth to buy this cascadia DD15, DT12 with 320K miles that it had these issues and fixed already with:engine head gasket oil leak, flywheel housing gasket oil leak, front cover gasket oil leak, high pressure fuel pump leak from mounting O RING, rear oil galley plug leak, coolant leaks from DEF header coolant line pfp, coolant leaks at DEF tank area...would this truck be reliable for the future? If the head gasket blown out caused some other compenents to messed up and it will have problems in the future...any true answer I will appreciated

      What is the year of the Cascadia?
      No, DT12 automatic transmission is not reliable. I will recommend me you a conventional Eaton Fuller manual transmission to prevent problems.

      I think the same for all automatic transmission, they are nice when the are new but used truck with AT is not very reliable. Anyway, it is up to you to decide. If you really want a truck with AT, I recommend you to get the service history of the transmission so you can know if the transmission was serviced in the past.

      Around $1400, just the EGR actuator kit cost around $1000 but if you need to replace it on the future the EGR actuator itself cost around $600

      Take the clamp off and look into the egr or connecting pipes near. If you see a buildup replece it. They have kits to clean it but it doesn't work.

      $2800 dlls is the answer to you question, for replace EGR valve so you can do it and save a lot money parts is 1400 dlls

      No, it is not necessary, you need to reset the self learning data but it is not mandatory.

      Francisco Amaya reset self learning data? How is that accomplished? I recently changed my actuator and I'm still getting this code intermittently- eng calib 128 411 13. I'm thinking I need to clean the delta P or have the ECM reset.

      You need to replace the EGR delta pressure sensor and perform a calibration with the DDDL software.

      Francisco Amaya thank you for the reply! I removed the delta P sensor and the port holes were completely clogged with soot. After cleaning those out the truck runs completely normal now and no more codes.

      The codes means: no def air pressure from supply.
      This could be a problem with the def air limiting valve

      You need to do a scr air test with the DDDL software but with some luck it will go away once you start the engine for 5 minutes and then turn it off for 2 minutes and then turn it back on.

      It will give a fault code or it will leak coolant.

      I had a truck that was building excessive soot in venture pipe and it was closing delta p sensors holes. After 3 months of headaches I found that stupid actuator is faulty. I had no codes. So what needs to do. Remove big pipe that goes to one box. Start previously warmed engine and let it idle 10-20 seconds. push down accelerator pedal and monitor the exhaust smoke that comes out from pipe. the smoke will be size of foot ball. it just comes out and stop. if you see more then that, then actuator is performing slowly and needs to be changed. if you see smoke is coming continuously again actuator is bad.

    These trucks are trash. Same things wrong wit all Cascadias. It's an apparent design flaw.

      By all means, tell us which truck manufacturer makes one that lasts forever. Did you think you could run any truck for even 10k miles and not have maintenance issues? It's no wonder you didn't put your name there.

      Marcus Jones, more than a maintenance issue. I'm guessing you don't own one, and if you do, I can tell you exactly what you've replaced already, or going to replace in the near future. If the same thing breaks across multiple units, then it's a design flaw. Plenty of people can attest to that fact. Sure, every truck needs repairs on a regular basis, but when the egr actuator fails on at least 80% of Cascadias, then it becomes very apparent what the problem is. And what the fuck does my name have to do with anything?

      just a note to Marcus Jones my NEW EGR actuator failed after 2 years I didn't want to believe it, cleaned my filter, EGR valve ports but still engine lite finally changed the actuator so my point even new part fails per mechanic its the electric part that failed, first time on my old style the coolant leaked it is sad Mr. CROWN ROYAL because these parts cost $500 and dealer wants $900-1100 cant even last 5+ years
