Finally, a calm, sensible, easy to follow guide. It's lovely having a person seem like they're speaking to you and not at you. I felt as if I were in an actual class with a teacher that I would benefit from. Thank you!
I spent hours searching through videos of clicker training to embed into my report for a class for college on dog training, this one is by far the best.
You all prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Nicolas Eugene Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Its useful for training and once your dog gets used to listening you may not even need it anymore. Some dogs will need that extra step so you may have to carry it around for a few days
My border collie is aggressive towards other dogs, as she wasn't introduced to other dogs as a puppy. She is 7 years old, and I got her in september. She's as good as gold when other dogs aren't around. I've just purchased a clicker, and am wondering if it can help me, help her. I don't like to see her like that. I don't know what to do! Help, please???? 🙁😕
you first need to make her associate the click with good behavior, then if she sees a dog and stays chill just click and give her a reward. If she keeps being chill keep rewarding. The most important thing is for you to stay calm the whole process, if she feels you are also stressed, it will feed that behavior.
@@driss409 ive tried associating the clicker when giving her treats. She won't eat her treats now, because she's expecting the clicker. Even if she can't see the clicker. She anticipating it now. She's hard work!
I have trained animals for the majority of my life, this is the first time ive ever heard of click training. Honestly i think id rather have my pets respond to voice commands its more of a natural solution for bother you and your pet! Lmfao how are you gonna stop your animal responding to every click and pop that occurs in the environment? Sounds more like a gimmick lol
The click doesn't replace commands. It only serves as a clear marker for developing the desired behaviour. There is now forty years of science documenting how and why clicker training (scientifically called operant conditioning) works. Look up Karen Pryor and her books Don't Shoot The Dog and Reaching The Animal Mind, either of which explain the discovery and development of clicker training. It's a game changer for training any animal.
