This is not a small lake by any means and Hartwell Lake just up River that I live on is a 56,000 acre lake. Some of the spots on this lake are huge. What you were hearing at the beginning of this video was bluegill and sunfish popping on top of the water and eating bugs in the morning. This lake is less pressured than the one I’m from when it comes to boat traffic, recreation and tournaments because the one that I’m from right up river that I was speaking of in the beginning is been the home of seven or eight Bassmaster Classics… when they leave this lake, they go to Russell. You are on one of the best bass, fishing lakes in the upstate of Georgia, South Carolina and lower North Carolina..

Im still exploring the local large & small lakes/ fisheries. So far I haven't been very impressed with savannah river lakes for largemouth. Thier all getting bad with spots. All the spots are small, their not native species & were not stocked by GA or SC DNR & it's to late to get rid of them besides completely draining them & starting over. Clark's Hill isn't to terrible yet, it still has some decent largemouth 4-6 pounders, not many. Clark's Hill & Russell are good for big striper fishing. That's where I go when I wanna target striper. If I wanna go after big largemouth I need go to lake Murray, Marion or some of smaller lakes. Last summer i caught a few above 7 an 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 & my current PB an11.4 I like chasing big bite past few years. I've caught enough small fish,I just want the big girls. This my 10 year fishing heavily in a kayak. I was very surprised the first summer after moving down here. I don't see that many other kayak angler's? I saw waaay more up in Ohio? Opposite of what I expected? I do try going very hard to get places alot, I haul my PA12-360 in bed of my truck because a trailer really cuts down on areas I can get to plus I don't have to pay to park at big lakes sense I don't have a trailer. Good luck in your tournament

This my 3rd summer down here. I've literally ran into maybe 2 dozen other kayak angler's!? I do look for & try to hard to get places When I lived up in Cincinnati Ohio area I ran into multiple kayak angler's almost everywhere I went .

Are you on lake Russell on savannah river chain? Definitely not small, thousands of points & coves. I moved down to SC from Ohio. Been kayak fishing for 10 years now. Definitely lot of places to explore. Russell is full os spots & thier all small. They have definitely taken that lake over! Idk why people put spots in savannah river lakes? It was a horrible idea!
