Brrr, no heat? Glad you had the electric blanket. You are my favourite young vanlifer because your videos are so real. They don’t feel highly edited nor do you try to spout a lot of wisdom. You are just real and believable. You are a very talented young woman as I am sure you work hard to produce such amazingly peaceful and enjoyable videos.

I think your experience with the man walking past your van is a good example of why a van is better than a trailer. In a van emergency, you can just drive away. What do you do if you're in a trailer?

Mariah, If the guitar that you bought is a Martin & Co, guitar (I can't read the name), I recommend that you get a good hard-shell sealed case for it. This is especially important if your environmental temperatures change radically as you move around, have the sliding door open a lot, etc. A guitar body will warp easily in extreme weather conditions.

The only thing that come to my mind is, envious. When it snows there's a silence about the great outdoors that's is awesome to experience and you're there in it. The season is changing and this being your last snow of the year just might be. I'm glad you're finding what I call, inner peace in your life. It can be difficult to find but if you balance those things that need to be done, you'll smile at the results, and you do have an amazing smile, use it often. Thanks for sharing this great snow scene and as always, take care, stay safe and pet Finn for me.

I think it's common for van life to be so difficult the first year or two, then it becomes the most adventurous lifestyle. However, there is always a balanced needed of traveling + recouping. I think having a trailer if you're interested in buying a piece of property would be best especially when you're trying to slow down traveling. With converted vans still being popular, you won't have any issues selling and moving on. I'll still be watching any adventures car, van, bus. You inspire me so much for this dreamy lifestyle.

Hi Mariah! I remember seeing your vlog about your first snowstorm of the season (#56) this past Dec. Now, here we are in the vlog of your last snowstorm of the season. Looks like you & Finn survived another winter just fine. So glad you have a good can opener for that Campbells Soup. The sign of a true survivalist if you own a dependable can opener.

After 3yrs camping I have come to enjoy longer term campsites, like up to two weeks at a time, especially on National Forest land. So a trailer is my choice so I can set up a semi permanent campsite and have a car to travel around and run errands. To me a van is best if you are moving constantly. Love your vids!

I miss the sound of snow falling. One of my best audio memories is of huge clumps of snow drifting down on a still day. It was a marvelous sounds that was unique in my life.

It can snow here in the higher elevations of New Mexico until May. The great thing about our spring snows are they melt by noon and the roads are clear. Where's the next NM adventure? Also - it's great to see you trying the music thing. I've got maybe a handful of regrets in life and learning to play music is one of them. But, hey - there is still time, right?!

After hearing you talk about 'Where the crawdads sing' I downloaded it (audio) and listed on my headphones while I work. I have really enjoyed it, and got to the point of wanting to work so I could listen to more. 'Motivated me' tips her hat to you. Gotta go get back to work ;-)

Mariah Alice: About 3 months ago you commented about getting a larger RV. Now that I'm retired, I've been thinking about getting a Motorhome, I took your thinking to heart. So, I looked at class B+, Class C, & A's that are no longer than 30ft. Some of these have all wheel drive, I want to go to remote places like you do. I want to pull in to State and National Parks. These parks don't except anything longer than 30 ft. Also, I want to be able to stealth park, if I need to. I found a C & A 30ft long, with a washer and dryer!!! For when I'm at a place that has hook ups. I feel I've done my time in laundry mats. But, with your video today, I realize I can do my laundry and clean the RV at the same time!
I don't want to pull a trailer. Many years ago, I parked my small Class C in a quiet spot when a car load of young guys pulled up next to me. I knew drinking going to happen. I was able to make a fast get away. I was so grateful I didn't have to get out of a trailer to get in the car and be forced to interact with these young guys. Plus, pulling a trailer and maneuvering to get in and out of places will be harder.
You have been doing this for some time, and in different vehicles. Any thoughts and suggestions?

I love it. I wish I were there. Northern New Mexico is one of my favorite places in Spring.. Taos is lovely - especially as it warms up in May. July is my favorite month in thee Sangre de Cristo mountains. They call it monsoon season. But in the right place you get a daily rainfall and then it warms up into the 70s every day. I just came across your channel today. I've sorta started to binge. ;-) I love your introspective observations. Look at you go! And... The Untethered Soul? I look forward to hear your thoughts. It reminds me of my own life looking back. Thank you for the video of those mountains. Makes me feel like I am there. At the moment, I can't travel for health reasons. It's helpful.

I think I'd always worry about a trailer in one way or another. On the one hand, it would be a pain to have to take it everywhere. Worrying about needing to back up, finding a place to park, etc.
But then, if you leave it somewhere while you drive into town--unless it's a bigger campground--you would have to worry about someone stealing it while you're away. Especially a little camper, because it's not super easy to just hook up to a 30-foot fifth wheel and drive off. Plus, it immediately says, "Hey, I'm camping here," which isn't great for parking lots and other stealthier situations.

Loved your video -- especially seeing your delight in the snow. ⛄
As for getting a trailer: think carefully. Stealth camping becomes harder, even impossible. Maneuvering a trailer into and out of tight spots isn't always easy, and it gets even harder in snowy or muddy conditions. It plus car take up more space than might be available. It makes a quick getaway harder -- you can't just jump into the cab and take off. And you might at some point take the car to do some grocery shopping or the laundry, then come back to find someone has driven off with your entire home, including all your belongings and Finn. Not saying don't get a van, just saying think it out thoroughly.
