      @@asecret900 Nope, just someone who appreciates clean technique. Prevents stress and unnecessary loss of visibility for the team. As the guy who usually runs the camera myself, I prefer lead divers with excellent anti-silt skills. I only replied due to A Secret commenting about “fine-tuned” skills and didn’t want new divers believing that.

    Beautiful video, but WTF does "500M" mean? I thought it was the depth, which is why I clicked, but given the gar, this dive never exceeds 40m. So please tell us what it means. Thanks

    I'm torn because I would love to explore deep underwater caves (with proper training of course), where few people in the history of our planet have been - but I can't imagine being 500 meters away from my natural safe environment. Do any of you cave divers ever felt this way before cave diving and the feeling just goes away after you go through the training and see how actually safe it is (when properly prepared and trained)? Or were you comfortable at the idea since the very beginning? Thanks!

    • @nickadkins5679
      @nickadkins5679 6 месяцев назад

      I can add a comment since I just saw this comment. For me, I wasn't really afraid of being far away from safety from the get-go. I went into the training already quite familiar with the concepts of cave diving, and to me it was a given that I would be x number of feet/meters away from an exit at any given time, and I couldn't just ascend. What makes cave divers feel ok with that idea is the fact of redundancy. We always carry 2+ tanks, we always dive with others who also are carrying 2+ tanks, we are very diligent with marking our lines and communicating with others to make sure we can find our way back out, and we have lots of other redundancy like multiple computers, 3+ lights, backup spools, line cutters, extensive dive planning, and more. We know that cave diving is not an inherently safe activity, but we mitigate the dangers by being as trained, prepared and equipped as possible.

    You do not look like you have anywhere near enough redundancy for a 500 meter dive. Are you sure you don’t mean 500 ft? Even then you seem light.

    • @andykitchen5225
      @andykitchen5225 2 года назад +1

      @@zimenoschosch6764 I know exactly what they are for, and I am telling you they are very under-equipped for a 500M dive. They have the gear for a 50M dive sure. But anything deeper, like 500 M they would have twin reBreathers, all kind of staged bail out gas as well as 4maybe 5 side mounts with all the different mixes needed to bail of a dive from their supposed depth.

      @@andykitchen5225 ah you mean deep in going down? His proclaimed 500m are horizontally into the cave not vertically. Nobody dives to 500m unless they are saturation diving

    • @andykitchen5225
      @andykitchen5225 2 года назад +3

      @@zimenoschosch6764 Saturation diving isn’t a function of depth, it’s more a statement of one’s condition, I.e. you’re sat’ diving if you ever get saturated at the pressure you’re at. I am at the moment, saturated at 1ATM. You could be Sat’ diving at 100ft, it’s a statement of when you’re full at ambient pressure.
      Now as for the matter of these guys doing a 500m dive. No I didn’t hear them say it was their penetration depth. I should have paid more attention. I have never heard of people qualifying a dive by anything but it’s depth. So they were trying to mislead, and congratulations to them, they misled me.
