I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TUTORIAL! I've painted it 3 times today for practice and it's gorgeous. thank you so much Diane for sharing your beautiful art with the rest of us. I can't tell you how much learning from you means to me. I have found something I truly love.
Dear Diane, I can't believe I have found you having watched literally countless different watercolour channels. You are an inspiration and your work is so easy on the eye and I actually feel I can do this !! Thank you for your time and your wonderful artwork. I lost my mum last year then I found and fell in love with watercolour. I will be looking in on your lovely artwork on a regular basis. Love that you are an animal lover . Me too X
Hi Susan, thanks so much for your lovely message, and so sorry to hear about your mum. I’m glad to that you found me, it’s always tricky for a new channel to be found, no matter what we do! RUclips does a good job of hiding us! However never mind you’re here now! Look forward to hearing from you and getting your reaction to the different videos that we put up, as that’s how we learn. I don’t know where I would be without my animals! I have to be surrounded by them, and usually am! Have fun painting these birdies! 😍
Dear Susan, I am sorry for your loss too. Dealing with raw nerves and anxiety myself along with losing loved ones, this has been so relaxing to me too and I feel encouraged by the style and lovely conversation style and tips. Sending warm and healing thoughts … and art hugs 🤗
This is just the theme for me today! I’ve been down with the flu and was watching some hummingbirds right outside my porch and I will attest they do indeed perch! I love how loose these birds are! Thank you so so much for all you do for us! I’ll be doing this one once I can get out of this sick bed- so annoying being ill!
@@DianeAntoneStudio thank you Diane! Your good wishes must have helped! I’ve got birds on my agenda today! I loved your short on those dat fluffy birds that you did awhile back! So cute and fun! I’d love to see those in some kind of a Autumnal setting!
My 147 th. All your birds are a great opportunity to play with paint ,brushstrokes and water. Thanks. The nice time of colorful autumn changed this year very quick into too much grey clouds and almost constant rain. It is too wet to gardening. I didn't gardening for over a month or so😢. But... my pumpkins , parsnips and beetroots are in stock, so plenty to kook with. Have a dry and hopefully a bit sunshiny day 😊wim
Sorry to hear you have the same awful weather as we do! It feels as if it hasn’t stopped raining for months. Sun did come out this afternoon for a few minutes, but soon ran away again!😩🫣🙄
Let’s relax and enjoy playing with colours and brushes and paint these easy cute birds together! Perfect for beginners and more advanced art fans alike! And ideal for your water brushes too, like the other little birds I did a few weeks ago.
Diane, thank you so much for using cellulose paper. You are a myth buster and I really appreciate that so much. You truly think of our budget which makes a difference for lots of people. I honestly wish I had known you at the start of my journey. You are the best. Better to find you now instead of not at all. You make me want to paint more and that makes me better!
I hate waste and it's not necessary for a beginner to use top grade paper for practising on. It's certainly making the manufacturers of Arches paper happy though. Or maybe not. I have a strange feeling that some of the paper that is being sold on Amazon as Arches might not be genuine. Arches is in France, and it's a small paper mill in the middle of no-where and I'm surprised that they can produce the volume of paper that must be available on Amazon to satisfy all the hordes of people who are buying it to learn to paint! These days you never know what is really going on! Anyway, thanks again for your super comments and wonderful support Ann, you are really helping the channel grow and I appreciate it more than you can know. xxx
Thank you for this. I need to paint more for practice. I procrastinate and don’t know why. That you paint every day AND share it, is phenomenal. I completely understand your “what to paint” dilemma. But you are a good example of not letting it stop you.
Thanks very much for your thoughtful message. For myself, I've always needed a pressing reason to paint. I've never been able to just paint for the heck of it. Reasons have included: joining an art club to make friends, recuperating from a serious illness, needing to feel useful when unemployed, starting an art club in a new country, trying to earn some money by selling paintings, and now - all of those have come together through the RUclips project to prompt me to daily painting for the first time in my life! I now see it is truly the only way to make real progress. To devote yourself as completely as possible to one thing (apart from the animals, the cooking, cleaning and showering...!)
I've come to love all your paintings. Right now, also I am on about 215 day in Scoby book. It has been real helpful to see what painterly things you have done with the projects there. I am now putting inserts into the book from when I did it with you. Fun!
I love this painting of the bird's. I watched it on my TV so I could see it better but I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed it. For a long time I've wanted to compliment you on your picture. You look so pretty and I love your hat.
Our hummingbirds perch. They fly and hover from the flowers to the pear tree to perch. Sometimes they perch on the flowers too. Your birds are so cute!
Ah that's good to know! I was a bit worried I'd got that wrong, as we don't have them here. I used to have them when I lived in the Bahamas, but not in vast numbers. Thanks Kat!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Diane, I just purchased my first set of paints (Paul Rubins- 24 half pans), paint brushes (Mimik set), and a few paper blocks. Watching you, I'm building up my bravery to START. Oh Deirdre, how lucky you are to have weaverbirds in your garden! I read about them as a child and was fascinated by the idea that birds could weave a nest! Do you know which type of Weaverbird you have? I believe there are several types?
I've painted something every day since finding your channel. Your videos give me confidence to just be myself. One question, do you have a mushroom/toadstool video. I may have seen one on your channel but I haven't found it.
Thank you again for sharing your painting with us. I loved watching you paint and listening to your voice with the soft background music. So soothing! I'm sorry you had one of "those" weeks. Thank you for the paper recommendation. I'm going to get some. It's $40 for 50 sheets in the US. Still not bad! Will there be a sketch for this one?
Thanks for your message Renée, much appreciated! So glad you enjoyed the video, and the week could’ve been worse - at least we have Arthur for feline company!! Yes, there will be a sketch for the video!I will try to get it up tomorrow. Have a lovely evening!
Thank you for this beautiful lesson. Having trouble finding the paper on Amazon. I don't see the link in the description... Thank you. Maybe it is because I am in the US. :)
One of the good things about the Etival paper which I didn't mention is that if you really mess up you can chuck it in the sink and wash everything off. Let it dry and start over. And you can also paint on the back. And you can use it for gouache over top of the watercolour if all else fails! It's very durable paper. It is a bit dearer in the States but it is French! I paid $28 for mine over here. Oh, and there are smaller packs if you just wanted to try it. The bumper pack I use just because I know I'll get through it all fairly quickly.
That’s one of my oldest videos and we haven’t added music for nearly 2 years now. You can mute the sound if you don’t like the music, and there are lots of other videos, over 400 of them, without music!
