Hey giles. Thanks for the looksi. Looks like a great soaring trike. I was interested in what engine and hp. I really think that most folks dont realize that flying a soaring trike is probably the safest and most enjoyabe ways to fly. Slow take off and landing speeds ,great sink rates make good stretches into emerg lzs. Wings that can handle severe turb. Here in usa i fly my solairus single seat soaring trike from N wing. Pb looks great. My 2 place trike sink rate is so much worse in engine out. But as an aging hang x glider pilot and bad knees i get so much more airtime now. Dont have to rely on a driver or mt launch. So what i really like about the flylight pb is the detailed quality of the workmanship. Great demo vid thanks
Hi Whispering Eagle, I'm trying to keep the life in my knees. I did try a bit of soaring the other day, I just need to rig up my Vario to my headset to be bit more successful. I'm glad you like the video.
I'm in the same situation... I have 2 Pacific Airwave Mark IV's yet to maiden as I was working on my H2 rating a few years ago and now both my knees have been giving me fits.... the initial HG training killed my feet after 4 days of hill training as both feet have prior damage history's..... at the same time getting the hg's I bought a used Northwing ATF trike but yet to maiden it as well due to needing 2 place training especially for spin recovery type of training etc.... I am in MS and know of no one nearby that owns trikes or instructions? Nearest training is in Jasper, TN at Skycycles with Mike Theeke... pretty expensive though

Hi Bruno, I'll have a look. The reason kingpost is still on this design is to keep the wing weight down. Topless isn't always faster. I've flown alongside the Fox13TL wing (Topless) and there was virtually no speed difference in the cruise even though the other wing was meant to be faster. Just in case I can't find your machine, do you have a link?
I did have quite a bit of flap on my wing. I took it to Ben to have the mod (and a wing inspection - mine’s over three years old now!) which has fixed the flap. I want a hand throttle!
OOH! Lots of little mods to make to yours now... he he! The wheels look the mutts nuts - a very well sorted machine! But good to know that functionally still the same :)
Giles, I took my Adam back to Ben earlier this month for a check-over (following it being tipped in a gust of wind) and to fit a hand-throttle. On my first trip out back at Perranporth, when taxi-ing to the runway hold, I suddenly found myself hurtling along the tarmac. It took a few seconds before I realised that my sleeve had caught on the new hand throttle lever!! The Adam gets a lot of attention from aviator colleagues, so they might have been surprised to see an attempted downwind take-off from the taxi-way... Cheers John

Enjoyed the video and subscribed.... I am thinking about getting a paramotor that a friend told me was avail. as I too have a trike that I am yet to maiden but I need training for both. I am not sure of the brand and equipment with the ppg at the moment but my trike is a Northwing ATF that I bought used in 2016... the seller told me that I would just need about 5 minutes training... and once I contacted a trike instructor and told him what the seller said... and he asked was I planning on growing old? Lol... yeah I know you can get into some scary situations so yes I agree some training is definitely needed... the ppg is probably alot easier to fly though..... smooth skies my friend

It's good to see you are aiming to join the skies, I'm glad you are getting instruction but I think, unless I misunderstood your comment, the instructor has a negative image of trikes. I tried PPG trikes once, I preferred footlaunched as it was actually easier when the winds got up. I kind have become a little lazy now I fly the Peabee, I just point down the runway and go. I hope you enjoy the content and please keep me posted on your progress. It doesn't matter what you fly as long as you are having fun and enjoying it.

I was saying a friend's uncle has a older paraglider motorized foot launch kind he said for sell cheap... probably canopy wing is old too... probably older stuff to risky to buy used... New stuff is stupid expensive...powered paragliding just doesn't seem fun enough to invest over +10k usd for new equipment... just can't see how any tiny engine costs $2,800 USD I know a new Radial compact engine like on my trike is around that price... stupid expensive for just 26 hp... mine has a modified head larger cooling fins.... I seen a RUclips video of the original owner engine over heating "original factory head" and it quitting in flight and he dead sticked it into a farmers field unable to restart during flight... Herb Benton... he has a few 19 second cell phone videos of it being modded for ballistic parachute and electric starter and battery mod.... I have messaged him in the past telling him that I own his trike but he never acknowledged.... guessing he thinks I might sue him someday if something happens..lol
@@kennethjohnson6223 It does seem that the engines are expensive but they are reliable now. $2,800 seems to be the same in UK £ so even more expensive for us over the pond. A phrase that is very apt is as long as you are flying and you are enjoying it does it matter what you are flying. There are flexwing pilots in the UK that turn their noses up at the Peabee as its small, slow and exposed; I say they are missing out, but also their machines cost nearly 3 times as much.

Considerably faster, better at stopping too! As with all our mods they are priced accordingly, we do simple brackets to major conversions. The wheels are not on the market yet but will be one of our first for mods for sale

So, does this machine fit under your "Sub 70" rules? Does it weigh about the same as yours? Does this machine cruise at the same air speed as yours? I seem to recall that you had to do a hang point mod to bring the speed up. Also, have you had a chance to fly the Fox TL (strut braced) Aeros wing? I wonder how that comparison would do. I fly a Fox TL win, and mine seems to be a bit stiffer in role then yours. Great video, I love these comparisons. Thanks.
Yes, Mark's is the Sub70 machine, it weighs a little less and all the current wings come out of the factory with the hang point mod as standard. Speeds are identical. I've not flown the strutted so I can't compare. I will try and get my hands on one 😁.

Hello Anees, the controls are the same but the way that they are use in certain aspects of flight are different, especially on the ground, landing and when combined with power. You are probably best to seek advice from an instructor. I hope that helps.
It become quite a topic of discussion and we seem to be around 50/50 on sales. Some definitely won’t fly with out one and others ask what’s the point, I’m guessing it’s a personal choice based on background.
I think coming from a paramotor background it would feel weird to me not having one. But if coming from flex or 3 axis it would be more normal not to have one? I'm definitly having one though, plus, it buys a wee bit more fuel capacity so win win!
Sorry to be a pain but I have a chance of buying a container destined to be a hangar for a PeaBee (about to be ordered) I cannot get hold of Ben Ashman to get the length of the wing in the folded position on the trike. Hello Richard, it's 5.6meters folded. It would easily fit in a 20ft ISO container. Mine is in a 40ft and it's far too big. The road trailer etc all sits at the back.

Hi Harry, the Sub 70 is licence free, but the doesn't mean you shouldn't get training. I've left a link to an interview with Mark that covers this topic. Additionally, under the CAA exemption, you are required to have insurance. Size wise, I know a chap that puts his in the back of his car. They do fold down ( Wing on top of the car). I've thought about it, but it has so many I depth functions, I bearly scratch the surface. I use it as a moving map, FLARM, and flight instrumentation. What sort of things were you interested in?

I'm happy up to 12 mph and 9mph crosswind. It handles thermic conditions with less worry. It's not better than a paramotor just different.

Did you find the steering a bit twitchy just after touchdown? I've tightened up the front fork pivot bolt on mine to make it less twitchy.
Good spot, it was pilot error and I do agree that tightening the head bolt makes a huge difference.

Any plans on an in-depth review of the Oudie 5 Pro?
I've thought about it, but it has so many I depth functions, I bearly scratch the surface. I use it as a moving map, FLARM, and flight instrumentation. What sort of things were you interested in?
@@GolfFoxtrot22 Just a general review on how useful you find it for paramotor/trike flying (is it worth the high price). If you ever have the time it would be great to get some flight planning, flarm, fanet, and air space functionality examples.
@@cardcounter21 I do want to produce a bit of a detailed walk around what I have on my machine. The OUDIE does need a bit more of a solo video. I'll see what I can do.

Pee Bee flyable in rain??
Yes, but you still get just as wet. You just have to be careful near the stall as the stall speed will increase with the rain on the surface.
