- THE FUN OF CASTING THE PERMANENT MAGNET ROTOR MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR IS HERE.
WE LEARN DISK PREPARATION, MAGNET POLARITY MADE FUN AND SIMPLE, MAGNET SAFETY, MAGNET HANDLING, HOW TO USE THE MAGNET TEMPLATE, PLACING THE MAGNETS, FORMING THE CASTING MOLD WITH ALUMINUM FOIL TAPE, MIXING THE RESIN / HARDENER, POURING THE RESIN, AND A FEW THINGS ABOUT THAT, WHY NOT TO POUR THE RESIN LEVEL ABOVE THE MAGNETS. WHY WE STILL LEAVE A COATING ON THEMAGNETS, AND FINALY.... THE FINISHED MAGNET ROTOR CASTING.
THIS OPERATION RAN SO SMOOTH THAT THE ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD WAS, THE CAMERA RAN OUT OF MEMORY. THIS MAGNET ROTOR IS SWEET. I HOPE YA'LL ENJOT IT AS MUCH AS I DID.
GOD BLESS YA'LL.

good idea
Many many thanks
You sound like people are honored to be around you
SCOTT,You made a great video ,you explain it so well every step of the way.. I am an old welder 72 and love learning something new about every day..PLEASE keep going ..I hope some young guys / girl learn from you ..you teach well man even how to stick that tape 🙏💚💚💚
Thanks 👍
about 7 min into this video and I was like yeah, I like this guy. subbed
Love your since of humor! Its the kind that makes me want to learn and continue watching your videos😁. Great job Scott.
The world needs more dudes like the mud man, cheers
Very good job
TNX bro. My pleasure.
Wery great idea.😃
Keeping the magnets cool is a great idea. I never knew that they got hot. Thanks for the video.
The friction of magnetic flux gets them warm to hot depending on the speed and the duration. Plus outside weather. When they get hot they have the risk of demagnetizing and then you just have pieces of metal. So keeping cool is a means of optimizing your flux.
@Marty Mcmannis
- Under high loads, the stator coils generate a lot of heat.
Smart and funny video.. very good!!!
Muddy, I really like all of your videos. I think people like you that educate us out in RUclips land are providing a valuable service to humanity as a whole. I must say. I'm a rather unconventional man and I find myself not willing to conform to the ways of others. With that said, I'd like to ask a few questions of you. I have already acquired 56 of the same magnets that you have, giving me enough for 28 sets of magnets. With my unconventional and nonconformist ways,I'm doin things different
I cant wait to see it run the first time on a windy day! That is going to be so epic!
I once saw a talk about an old windmill producer who's windmills were the best in their day. The person giving the talk said that the blades were designed to slow down in a hurricane. I don't know exactly how it worked, but I do know that the when I looked up the company they did in fact exist and were highly praised and that many of them are still up and fuctional today and are sometimes sold for a lot of money. I wish I could remember the name.
Gets all the oil off, stresses the importance of cleaning up minute amounts of oil from skin then grabs the magnet and gets oil all over it before installing it. What a genius!!!!
Im looking at the right of my screen and all those beautiful video,s are all right there step by step to a better futur and a whole lot of fun ; )
Green winds here we all come!!!
Mr.Scott Brown,
GOD Bless you.You are really nicest from the New York.

Great work 🌹
I love it!
Thank You Sir!! I throughly appreciated and enjoyed this video even though I have no intention of making, using or helping build one of these beautiful pieces of art...

I know im asking randomly but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Bode Amir instablaster =)
@Darian Ahmed i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Darian Ahmed it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account !
You're hilarious!!! These are so much fun to watch. Thank you!
I like that fly zapper, classy.
Life is like a story. Important not in how long, but in how well.
This is quite interesting, I saw a video series a while ago where a guy was showing everyone how to convert a ford truck alternator into a mini wind turbine. he also used stock PVC parts to make the blades and case.
Well muddy im glad you got a video of the product thats gonna become the first of many demos that make heating some of the house a reality .
Or Doctor Mcgovern has some great plans too he,s an engineer him ,yup make it good on the first try cause some are comming behind.lol
That's one nice looking rotar!

Great to see this good work. May be advisable to add a mechanical attachment, a dome allen screw or three so as there is thermal expansion & contraction between the GRP resin & magnet & cast steel brake disc, so the disc does not shed the whole set up affer a heavy frost or a very hot day. Or may be some light twine, threaded through the vanes of the disc & across the resin.....dacron or may be dental floss and finish of with a coat of super glue, to fix the knots.
You're a purty handy guy, Muddy.
Love this.. All around :)
Thank you so much sir 🙏🙏🙏
good job scott this is real professional keep up the good work.joe
Good job
Thanks
good job my friend.
U r a scientist...Love you ,,from India.
Making a magnet rotor (out of a brake rotor) to fit on a standard hub is FRIGGIN' GENIUS!
It may have been Hugh Piggot, who had this original idea in 1993 ...
Another question Muddy...Like I said, I have 56 of the magnets (28 sets) I'd like to base my PMG on Markp0177's generator. Although, it wont be exactly like his. Rather than have a single magnet per coil like his does, I think the opposing magnet idea is a better one. His has 28 magnets and 28 coils, yet is 2 phase. I'd like mine to be 2 or 3 phase (preferably 3 phase) Have a look at his design and let me know what you think. Be prepared to answer a few more questions.
I know you don't need another compliment but I have to say excellent work and thanks for sharing.
Hi, Scott where did you buy the magnets from, and what did they cost you? thanks.
Use steel rotor as mold to cast an aluminum rotor to cut weight?
Interesting. Lot of powerful magnets, should make a ton of power efficiently.
Thank you Muddy
I started building this turbine. Got the stator done and decided not to finish it because I determined that I would need a 100 ft. Tower. I live in the middle of the woods. Now I have 24 epoxy coated 1”x2”x.5” magnets for sale so if ya know any body that needs some magnets and a stator.
Hi Muddy Man,
Sure you got this axial motor video a great tutorial for everyone who would like to try like me.
Can you be so kind to give us info on magnets you used and where we can buy them.
thanks and more power and hope to see new designs youve been cooking
Continued...I plan on, rather than making a flat stator, one that is a ring with the coils standing on edge. The magnets will be on opposing sides of this ring, standing on edge. Now I have to ask you. Should I make 28 coils? If so, how far apart should these magnets be? Meaning that with 28 magnets standing on end there would be 1 inch between the north and south ones around the circumference of this ring. With that config. how big should the coils be in relation to the magnet size?
haha! ha, very good Muddy!
Hey Scott
I really enjoy your videos. Especially the great ideas you showcase.
You just made a magnetic wall clock modern art!
I ask myselfs, when short the coils outputs, can you still turn the magnet disk? normally this get's very heavy to do but now without metal in it how it does then. I had a idea to make one, but a vertcal one, nee a good design for that so I get efficienty as high as possible. Some do use a oil drum other bike wheels, Maybe you now a good one.
Infomatic
Thank you
GOD BLESS YOU TOO
Same to you!
Thanks Scott. You have your shit together my friend! If I knew where you are, I would take you for a beer.
My old friend Billy Bawlbuster. I am glad to hear from you bro. I accept the brew. I have been known to drink one every now and then. To see you in person would be celbration enough for one.
I noticed the comment about advertising, You will be glad to know,... I have taken any add that is longer than 15 second off the list. That dropped the operating funds down quite a bit, But it also made me take time away from the projects to recuperate. But I promise not to re-initiate any longer ones. Such torture would be cruel and unusually enduring pain to my viewers. lol.
BTW, I know where the moonshine is.
MUDDy
Thanks
Really late comment since it took this long to find you. Where did you get the magnets?
"I'm Scott Brown with Greenwind & other home energies".
I dont know if its just the way you say it or the way its written out. But that is one catchy title.
And I love neodimium magnets. The problem is they dont like me. And I got the bite marks to prove it. But anyways, someday I'm going to figure out how to utilize these magnets along with other natural forces and laws of physics and create a low intake - high output energy scource.
Anyways, this looks very cool and I'm gonna shadap now so I can finish watching it 👍.
Thanks for the compliments oh great one. :)
May your thinking drive you a successful solution for those magnets. Give it time and desire, and watch it form.

@@muddymuddymuddmann
Fortunately, the neodimiums i have are out of harddrives and such. Nothing in "dismember" size yet. Remember the really old 5 megabyt hard drives? 1/2 the size of a shoe box, twice the memory I retain. Now THOSE had some magnets (n56?) I got two of them stuck together. 3 people took turns trying to get them apart. Chisels finally did it, but not before a bunch of pinched fingers. Lol.
T/c mud. Great video 👍
Your magnets are familiar to me, because I produce these magnets. The coating, package are all the same. LOL
Thanks Sir. This is great to meet one that actually makes the magnets. I used to be a goldsmith. I could cast and repair just about anything, and custom make, or fabricate as well. I noticed on the magnets, that they are copper electroplated first, then plated with the nickel. That leads me to beleive that neodymium doesnt accept the nickel without the copper first. It is nice to meet you Sir.
Is there any chance I could Buy magnets cheaper through you? Thank You very much.
Stay safe and blessed in all things.
MUDDy
***** Yes. you can buy magnets from me and we can produce Nickel-Copper-Nickel, three layer coating. Please contact me Skypr: zheng.sophia3 Email: magnet06@winchoice.cn
+郑望菲 Will you ship through Cheaper and reliable Shipping Company like China Mail Post? Do not tell me china post do not accept magnet because majority of Aliexpress Sellers ship magnets through Chinapost, Singapore Post, Flyexpress etc. Answer my question.
Send your email and PIC of the magnet
This guy has a genius I.Q....isn’t it obvious?
Well done ... You made it look easy ....well thought out. Good on ya !
That is pretty. :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks
Isn't that a 2 way street? It seems to me that using a heavy rotor will smooth out the lack of consistency with the wind by continuing on it's own inertia, but it will also take much longer to get up to speed. BTW... Thanks for posting these videos. I enjoy them.
I think you will find that slow cure epoxy resin is a lot stronger than polyester, does not shrink, has a lot higher bond strength, and higher temperature capability than polyester. Adding mineral filler (talc, glass microballoons, fine sand) improves all those except bond strength. It also gives you a lot longer working time.
That is great info, and i agree with the slow cure as well. slow cure doesn't heat up and expand, then contract or shrink. I didn't know about the less bonding strength with fillers. Thank you for this as well.
Knowledge is free to give and very precious.
MUDDy
I'm still wondering if you are The Guitarman (the trucker). He used to sing a song called "Walkin' & Talkin', Talkin' & Walkin' on channel 19 of course, up through West Virginia & East Tennessee.
what difference in power would it make if I use 3/4 inch thick magnets instead of 1/2 keeping the same design and same size coil? It says 1/2 inch has around 85 lbs pull and 3/4 121 lbs. How big would my wing span would have to be?
you make it so simple to understand
Follow up questin mudd: the magnets ur using is expensive, is it possible to use cheaper magnets and stack them ontop of eachother?
rue American inginity!!! AWESME!!!!
I used a plexiglas wheel to hold my magnets, but i like yr style better.
¡Muy bueno, boy!
Congratulations!
God bless you!
You can get rid of the air bubbles by heating the epoxy with a Propane Torch... Like a Bunz-o-matic burner... Add less hardener as the heat will make it setup faster... The edges will be smoother too, as the heated epoxy will level out... It becomes water like and will flow downward and level out completely...
I would like to see a diagram of the magnet showing the N/S poles.... I get the impression the poles are not at the ends -like a bar magnet- rather they are on the two largest sides.... but not sure..
Thats actually a pretty good idea. I've seen one here on YT like that, but the man never posted the results.
nice video .
but i think there s something u dont know about magnets.
the magnets are magnetic because the flux wants to go treu a material as easyest and fast as possible.
Hence it pulls on metal.(fero) because it lets the flux go true eassy.
but when u put a magnet on a metal plate the fluxfield collapses because it found a way to go eassyer true metal then true air (permeability)
lets give the field size of a magnet u hold in your hand a number lets say 10
then when u put that magnet on a metal plate the size of the fluxfield wil shrink allot maybe by half because the fluxfield wants to go true the eassyest material to go treu. then it wil be like size 5.
if you want to build a windmill to produce electricity you should have magnets mounted in a ertalon or other strong plastic disk that way the fluxfield wil be mutch bigger making a bigger difference in the coil making a higher voltage and bigger amps.
Voltage and amps it creates depends on ....
- the strengt of the magnet N value (example N43 )
- The speed of the change going from N to S the faster the change the bigger the induction
- the size of the fluxfield covering your coils (to big coils or to small magnets wil get you low V and A) coils shhould be made depending on the size of the magnets.
-The ammount of windings and gage in your coils.(more windings more volts bigger gage bigger amps you can draw if there s enough wind to keep it spinning offcourse ) the more u draw power the more resistance it wil have on the magnets making then stop eventually making your proppeller stop.
Second you should try to have all components in your windmil made out of NON electric guidng materials (except your coils offcours) because they create dragg.
a magnet has no effect on copper of aluminium when static (not moving)
but when u move a magnets fast over aluminium or copper plate u wil feel it resists the movement like its braking.
so if you make around the stator a aluminium frame or tube it wil dragg out your windmil making it run slower.
Olso the axle of your windmill should be a NOn ferro mettal like aluminium because if its ferro it wil pull on the flux field of the magnets making them smaller.
last but not least its always best to use ass much as possible plastic in the whole design of the generator then it wil not cause dragg and it wil not pull on the fluxfield of your magnets.
I have not made a windmill with all these things in mind but its allot of stuff to keep in mind to make it as efficient as possible.
There s allot more to keep in mind but this is a beginning of a efficient windmill..
cheers and goodluck.
you give me some great ideas how to build my generator. thanks man. you're awesome.
Thanks for making such detailed videos, awesome. Still have the rest to watch, but I was thinking of doing a serpentine style rotor. A neighbor does scrapping and he has a bunch of multi stand wound wire where it looks as if it would be equivalent to 14 gauge. then wind it to 3 phase set up. I was also thinking of using a 8-5/8 stainless steel plates 1/8" thick, where the corner of magnets would be about 1/4 apart. Watching your videos I am now wondering if this would work. this set up would fit into a squirrel cage (10-3/4"H X 11-7/8"D weighing maybe 2 pounds) I was going to use for a VAWT design to go on top of my travel trailer. Not being an electrician, and my lack of 100% understanding in this, suggests that what I was going to do would have been a waste of material. Any suggestions or ideas on this. Again thanks for the great in-depth videos.

Awesome video series. Hope you don't mind that I shared on my facebook. Quick question... where are you finding your magnets? I've been looking for them in bulk and I'm worried that the ones I am finding online aren't strong enough to do much more than hold a crayon drawing to the fridge. Pointers please and thank you?
friend excuse me, i have one qestion, where aye you buy magnet type...
ok north pole tdc then either side would be south pole correct....oppsite plate if you build one would be south pole tdc correct ...do ou have a video of windings
Can you tell me where you purchased the magnets? What type and about how much did they cost? How many did you purchase? Thanks. JF
Hi scott,
I really like your pragmatic approach on your project and also the sound of the wind blowing at the background ;-)
Can you give me some info about the power you want to create with your setup?
I an thinking of making a diesel engine powered generator ( not enough wind here...) and would like to learn how to calculate things like windings, rpms magnet field strength etc etc.
Regards
Paul
The voltage is a parameter that can change with rpms. so using an engine will allow you to achieve the voltage desired so long as the magnets dont fly off on high rpms. The current is limited to the size of the wire in the coils. less resistance in fat wire, but less turns per coils as well, with lower volts out.
as it sits right now, i hope to generate 750 watts. at 12 volts that would take 62 amps, a nice feat for two strands of 14 gage wire. two strands of 14 gage wire approximates 9 gage wire. I say two strands because two phases of coils are producing at any given time. I hope this helps.
rpms dictates voltage, tourque dictates amperage.
Thanks
MUDDy
+muddymuddymuddmann Hi M. (typing shorter :-) ) Thanks for answering!, Starting to build a miniature generator I try to understand the magnet/coils positioning according to the right fases. Did your generator succeeded in delivering 750 watts?
What was your output amps and Voltage on this wind turbine?? I’m planning to build one, but need to ensure it is strong enough to charge my 48 volt batteries.
That turned out Good! Good Job! Looks Great!
HI MUDD IS POSSIBLE YOU GIVE SOME IDEIA ON DIMENSIONS FOR MY COILS,I HAVE N42 GRADE 1/4 SWEP ARC NDFEB MAGNETS 1.57" at the wide end, 0.78" at the narrow end, 2" long, 0.25" thick,I NEED TO DO THE FIXTURE FOR THE COILS BUT I DONT KNOW THE DIMENSIONS FOR THIS COILS.THANK YOU.
I guess it is a good generator design after all.
Resin for glue always has filler powder as a thicker or fiberglass cloth both will ease any cracking. I have never had cracking except once when using epoxy. Epoxy is harder than polyester and prone to cracking when used without filler or cloth. Polyester is forgiving more hardener generally won’t harm anything and there are hardening accelerators as well. Epoxy and Polyester isn’t meant to be used without cloth or filler powder. Later MUDDY
hello my friend can tell me what is it Magnatic model and size?
Sir, very good idea with the brake disc!, as you could use the axle bearing! Bravo!
But please tell me, as it is not very clear to me: Actually the north or south should not point up or down but from the end of the magnet. So it should be in 04:23 away from you OR towards you, am I right?,
The next thing: isn't the steel of the break disk completely disturbing the magnetic fields of the single magnets, building up a complex new summary of magnetic field???
Do you ken the field strength of them things
Where did you get your magnets, & the template, that is sick cool, hope you do a video of building a turbine with it
Hey Muddy can you suggest a cheap source for the magnets? the cheapest 1"x2"x1/2" I can find are $25.00 a magnet That's a bit out of my budget
Wish. com the magnets come from China
Metal surfaces heat sink and moisture condenses on the surface, especially sanded surfaces
@muddymuddymuddmann So an old mechanical voltage regulator of an old Gm would know the batteries are charged then when it switches off charging the batteries to the resistor thing can this be made without to much tech?ive seen small resistors for cars and bigger ones for computers but this thing would have to be big big but not so big to burn the coils am i right ?
Hey Scott Brown how is the wind turbine still working
Give me Link where you buy magnet.
pollyester and baby powder makes good glue
Sir what' is the size use magnet.
very nice but i have one question how can i get these powerful Magnet
i prefer an online shopping site because i'm not in US
thank you again
thank you so much, Sir.
i love all your videos
Makes sense to me! Thanks brother!
Any time Kevin. :)

Energy from the magnet can be obtained without any mechanical movement.
All we need is material capable of being converted from magnetic to
nonmagnetic when applying electrical impulses. This will simulate the
rotation of the armature in the generators.
Such a material was created for other purposes and there is technology.

Keep dreaming ...
I have had problems with Super Glue deteriorating over months.
It swells with moisture. There are epoxies that will last much longer.
I wondered about that also. i have found that super glue works great for about a month then it lets go.
