The Kentucky Wildcats beat the Missouri Tigers, 35-28, in the first SEC game of the 2021 college football season. Kentucky RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. ran for a career-high 207 YDS & 3 TD in addition to another score through the air.

I'm a alabama fan and all can say is that was a game that what I like to see in the SEC shout out to Kentucky is there time to 🌠

@@shawnkurtz4424 Seems like they were just getting moved off the ball, and getting fooled by those RPO's. Central Michigan gave them problems too. The pass rush is solid, but the run defense needs serious work.

@@williamtitan well UK ran away from Trajan Jeffcoat which was smart. Then no one else could get the edges set, not to mention Mizzou's best LB is a liability in the run game. To top it off they have a back like Rodriguez who is probably one of their best players, so they are going to feed him the ball. Historically Kentucky has been a 3 yard and a cloud of dust team, so they probably already went in with that mindset and still got dominated. Don't get me wrong Kentucky is a very talented team.
If CRod can hold onto the ball and our defense can make open field tackles this team is scary
I could see both Kentucky and Arkansas going to a New Year's day bowl this season.

I know the score made the game look close at the end. UK should have been up 28-7 at halftime if Rodriguez held onto the ball. Kentucky always lets their opponent come back in a game. I don’t know if that’s a coaching problem or lack of concentration.

I agree. Georgia has a foot hold on the east but if they are 2 teams that could beat them in the east it would be Kentucky and Florida. Kentucky if stoops gets the defense back to top of the SEC like it has been then they are a true contender for sure.

I was at the game and on one play a Kentucky Wildcat player, #14 went down around the fourth quarter, Mizzou band started to say "CPR, CPR, CPR" Then the Mizzou Tigers fans started to say it as well. ( I was a Kentucky Wildcat Fan ). Then everyone started to boo at the Mizzou fans and, the banded. And I was close to the and, I saw on a person give the finger to the band and fans. Then we started to do "Blue, White, Blue, White, Blue, White" them later another person went down and they did not do what they did to the other person because he was not really giving any pressure on one of his leg.
And even if a person is down, Don't start to say unkind things to the person even if you think it was not really that bad of an injury or if there not injured. So even if they are down don't say something stupid to the person.

This was an underrated game last weekend. Kentucky has a chance at 10-2 assuming Fla and Georgia are losses. LSU could go either way and rest of the schedule is rather easy.
Mizz run D is horrendous
It may not have been his best game, but I think Rodriguez is one of the most underrated and underappreciated running back in the SEC.
He led the SEC in yards per rush last season. The man doesn't go down easy. They can build around him with the passing game and get their D together and they will be a legitimate threat this year for sure.

Could have easily been 49-21 Kentucky. If C-Rod doesn't fumble at the goal line, the cats would have had a 28-7 lead and all of the momentum going into the half. Probably wouldn't have given up that end of the half TD. Score on the first drive of 2nd half, puts them up 35-7 and then they trade TDs the rest of the way. But I'm glad Kentucky beat a GOOD Mizzou team. That was probably the third-best team on the schedule for Kentucky.

Tennessee has been a struggle but I'm pretty sure KY has made it past that hump after they smashed them last year. Without a pass game lol. This team can be just as good if not better than the 10-3 team in 2018. If stoops can get his defense playing like they been for the past few years they can beat anybody in the SEC. And man the SEC is stacked this year with good teams. Arkansas, Missouri is gonna be 3rd In the east, Ole miss, Florida, AnM man all those teams could beat either Georgia or Bama on any given day. Gonna be a very difficult year for bama and GA. We may have a new SEC champ this season who knows.
