RIP Clarence "Tater" Tate & RIP Jimmy Campbell on the fiddles. Two of the finest that ever pulled a bow!!!!!!! Butch Robbins on banjo, Larry Perkins on bass, Ralph Stanley II & Grant Alexander on guitars, Jack Kincaid on mandolin, Joe Isaacs on guitar & lead vocals, RIP Dr. Ralph Stanley on tenor vocals. I never knew Ralph, but his mountain style of tenor singing & banjo playing left a lasting mark on bluegrass music, the likes of which will never be duplicated!!!!!!!
@@BonnieBlue1861 Also, the problem today is there's a new thing called "Olympic Music", where it's all about speed. I listen to a Country Gentlemen album and they fly through a tune or two for sure, but there's waltzes and a capella songs and ballads on those records, something for everyone, vs. just music for hopped up kids to jump up and down to at festivals.
@@Dan_Frechette_Songwriter I always tell my Dad, they’ve lost the melody. In my opinion, there’s no feeling, only notes on a page. I love the Country Gentleman also, it’s music that moves you. Somehow we’re missing that today. There isn’t any truth or authenticity. I’ll just keep listening to my favorites. When I first heard Tony Rice playing Church Street Blues, I felt I had heard the most beautiful, heartfelt, and humble thing I had ever heard. I still feel that way every time I hear it. It never gets old.
Ralph Was Is And Always Will Be The The Very Best Of Bluegrass Mountain Music. No One Will Ever Compare To Him. Thank You God For Blessing Us With His One Of A Kind Voice. And Thank You Ralph For Giving It To Us For So Long. R.I.P. Dr. Ralph.
I'll let you know I got to meet dr. Ralph Stanley here in Pott county Tennessee and Newport Tennessee a few years ago at the cocke county a&i fairgrounds
loadi2. Ralph would disagree with you. He would tell you he played and sang old time mountain music. He differentiated it from Bluegrass. The "Stanley sound" was certainly different than Bill Monroe's. With no disrespect to Ralph I'll agree with you, that's some fine Bluegrass right there.

This is real. No egos. No showoffs. Moves the soul. Thanks.
Wish I could like your comment 1000 times. These new guys act like they are Gods or something. They’ll never touch these gentlemen.
