make sure you listen to Steely Dan "Don't take me alive"
I always thought Josie was getting out of prison… she was for sure a good time.
lol are you saying shes a criminal
@@watchbizmatik WAS. She did her time. Now she's the pride of the neighborhood.
❤ the track. Timeless recording. Becker and Fagen: The tyrants of studio nuance and perfection! Funk Bass line. Love everything about this track! Love everything about your interpretation of this track! Thank you.
Look up the bass player. Legend himself!
Love Steely Dan! Thanks for another great review. ☮️❤️😎
You bet!
I remember when this song came out. I love this band SO much.
Hit Show Biz Kids. Love Steely Dan...😎😎
yesssirrrrr
This is a great album.
This song is a dancing around the kitchen song.
Very good reaction! Thanks for doing this song. 😊
Yeah I cant wait to hear the rest of it
@watchbizmatik I think you will like it! Might not be top 5, but definitely will enjoy it. You seem to listen to music with an open mind, that's always good.
Wut up Bizzy Biz !!! Steely in da house !!!!
As Ian Dury said in the the documentary of making this album : "Aja is music that lifts your heart up. I don´t wanna hear people moaning and I don´t wanna hear music that moans". Here comes Josie!
Btw - "Aja" sounds noticeably asian and so looks the woman on the cover.
Josie is funky and someone I'd like to meet.
also wild lol
That does feel good ❤
You can teleport right now to heaven or hell by listening to this whole album!😅
Oh man, this was a great album, no filler, just great musicianship, great tunes! You won't hear stuff like this today at all, the way radio is. A blend of R&B, jazz, rock? Man, what a time to be alive, I miss the 70's music, the cross pollination. Now, it's all corporate radio, niche marketed with demographic research and cramming the same songs down your throat
what a band !
You're the only reviewer I've ever seen read the lyrics! That was great! I've heard that song a million times and never realized how much of a bad ass Josie is! I agree I might stay in my house when she shows up though.
thanks
Easily one of the top 10 albums of the seventies!
Fretless bass is really good.
You GOTTA DO HOME AT LAST OFF THE AJA ALBUM !!
I always thought she's just a cool chic! Thanks for reacting! Try Time Out of Mind next.
It’s a great song another one of my favorites, thanks Biz.
amazing song
Green Earrings is so neglected and so so good. I'd recommend it to your attention!
Masterpiece
@@simplecarnivore I agree!
Hooters, lol. "Josie" predates the restaurant chain by twenty five years give or take. Think New Year's Eve party, with toy hats and noise makers. The music is super sophisticated. Josie was whomever you thought she was when you heard the song, a woman whose arrival was worth celebrating even if you didn't know her. "She's the best friend we never had". Sometimes songs are just stories told for fun filled with made up words without any deeper meaning. Tra la la and all that.
Hooter means a car or motorcycle horn in Australia - I'm sure they meant it as a generic party noise maker 🙃
lmao oh I thought he was talking about the restaurant
Aja was definitely one the best from 1977. No bad songs on the whole album. Good guitar solo from Walter Becker.
Fun reaction Biz Every Steely song is a good song! 🎉🎵 🎉 I had to stop myself from singing along cuz it's 1:30 in the morning and I don't want to wake my husband! Definitely a feel good song!🎵
someone send this man a aja steely dan t- shirt !
im waiting on you
"Dirty Work" a smash hit single and a track off the 'Can't Buy a Thrill' debut album by Steely Dan released back in 1972 is a favorite of mine. The keyboards and saxophone emphasize the song with its smooth flow. 🎤🎸🎹🎷🥁🔊☮🎧 I may add, had to edit this comment. Just looked up your past reactions and noticed this was reacted to 2 years ago.😇 At any rate, I'm a relatively newer subscriber.😌
He did it.
I did the whole first album
@@dt1064 Yes, I know Biz already reacted to it. If you read the rest of the comment, you would have seen I said that I found out that Biz reacted to it 2 years ago. Besides, the suggestion might allure newer subscribers to his channel to look up Biz's past reaction to the song. Thanks anyhow. 😎🍻🥂
Wow
The drumming is great. It's like Ringo Starr but with awesome deviations.
Jim Keltner, hits everything. Drums, garbage can, chair, wall, bandmate - whatever!
In the 7 songs of the Aja album, there are 4 distinct women: the unnamed one of Black Cow plus Aja, Peg and Josie. I wonder how they'd get along, if Black Cow lady got over her stuff and came back as any of the other 3...
🔥
I think any exciting big deal is a "Josie"
You might be right
This was the party album in my HS years!
Naked blues is my favorite but they are all good
I think you mean "Deacon Blues"
They deep fry their wings at Hooters but that's not the hooters he's talking about.
Ha I'm dying over here listening to you talk about mispronouncing Aja. Back in the day I was the goofy white guy who couldn't pronounce Tupac (still can't and I don't even know what I'm doing wrong so don't feel bad my man lol).
Don't worry about the pronunciation, and you do/did not look stupid or dumb! Truth be told, NOBODY knew how to pronounce the darn thing 'til they heard it in the song, so that may well be why nobody's commented (I assume?) on the "mispronunciation"! hahaha! You are not alone!!!
Island album….
Broasted chicken wings?
Yeah, roasted chicken i think lol
