    ❤ the track. Timeless recording. Becker and Fagen: The tyrants of studio nuance and perfection! Funk Bass line. Love everything about this track! Love everything about your interpretation of this track! Thank you.

      @watchbizmatik I think you will like it! Might not be top 5, but definitely will enjoy it. You seem to listen to music with an open mind, that's always good.

    As Ian Dury said in the the documentary of making this album : "Aja is music that lifts your heart up. I don´t wanna hear people moaning and I don´t wanna hear music that moans". Here comes Josie!
    Btw - "Aja" sounds noticeably asian and so looks the woman on the cover.

    Oh man, this was a great album, no filler, just great musicianship, great tunes! You won't hear stuff like this today at all, the way radio is. A blend of R&B, jazz, rock? Man, what a time to be alive, I miss the 70's music, the cross pollination. Now, it's all corporate radio, niche marketed with demographic research and cramming the same songs down your throat

    Hooters, lol. "Josie" predates the restaurant chain by twenty five years give or take. Think New Year's Eve party, with toy hats and noise makers. The music is super sophisticated. Josie was whomever you thought she was when you heard the song, a woman whose arrival was worth celebrating even if you didn't know her. "She's the best friend we never had". Sometimes songs are just stories told for fun filled with made up words without any deeper meaning. Tra la la and all that.

    • @BobGeogeo
      @BobGeogeo 26 дней назад +1

      Hooter means a car or motorcycle horn in Australia - I'm sure they meant it as a generic party noise maker 🙃

    Aja was definitely one the best from 1977. No bad songs on the whole album. Good guitar solo from Walter Becker.

    "Dirty Work" a smash hit single and a track off the 'Can't Buy a Thrill' debut album by Steely Dan released back in 1972 is a favorite of mine. The keyboards and saxophone emphasize the song with its smooth flow. 🎤🎸🎹🎷🥁🔊☮🎧 I may add, had to edit this comment. Just looked up your past reactions and noticed this was reacted to 2 years ago.😇 At any rate, I'm a relatively newer subscriber.😌

Besides, the suggestion might allure newer subscribers to his channel to look up Biz's past reaction to the song. Thanks anyhow. 😎🍻🥂

    In the 7 songs of the Aja album, there are 4 distinct women: the unnamed one of Black Cow plus Aja, Peg and Josie. I wonder how they'd get along, if Black Cow lady got over her stuff and came back as any of the other 3...

    Ha I'm dying over here listening to you talk about mispronouncing Aja. Back in the day I was the goofy white guy who couldn't pronounce Tupac (still can't and I don't even know what I'm doing wrong so don't feel bad my man lol).

  • @user-pi8mt3rq4x
    @user-pi8mt3rq4x 23 дня назад

    Don't worry about the pronunciation, and you do/did not look stupid or dumb! Truth be told, NOBODY knew how to pronounce the darn thing 'til they heard it in the song, so that may well be why nobody's commented (I assume?) on the "mispronunciation"! hahaha! You are not alone!!!
