      NY started it, though... ever since hip hop moved out of the 5 boroughs, they dissed everyone that wasn't from New York who was just trying to rap and get their careers started... the East/West rivalry or tension existed before Pac and Biggie... they were just the first to put faces on it so that everybody could have a figure to ride with. Tim Dawg kicked it off, frfr back in '91... but the jealousy and contempt over NWA's success was present since '88 when they dropped.
