Four years after she vanished, her purse was found in the evidence room of the Crockett County Sheriff's Office in Rizolli, about 300 miles west of Copperas Cove. Authorities believe that it was turned in shortly after she vanished, but they have no record of it. They hope that someone will remember turning it in in either 1988 or 1989 and have new information about the case. To this day, however, the case remains unsolved. If she is still alive, she would now be fifty years old. Her parents are now elderly and poor health, but they hope for a resolution in the case. Sometimes it’s when you can’t biologically have children that you appreciate it all the more when you can nurture someone. They chose to take kids in who had it bad, who had trauma and wanted to show them a loving family.
I can't believe a relative killed Sharon's kid!!!! I can't believe how positive she was after that and her crappy childhood. these reunion episodes always make me cry
That lost loves Sharon and the Zelinskis brought me to tears, oh my what a story. Such a tragedy a. The fostering system and b. That she couldn’t stay with them not to mention she was forced back into a child abusers home. Just sad all round but I’m so happy they found each other. Tears of rejoice
I'm not judging the Zelinskis but if I had been Bill I would have told her father, "If we hear from Sharon that you have been abusive in any way, then we will report you to the police." How wonderful that the school noticed her injuries and had him arrested. I'm so happy for the joyful reunion Sharon had with that wonderful couple.
I think they did threaten the father with that. Hence why they let her go home with him. I guess they had more faith in child abusers than we do. Nowadays we understand abuse more, but back then I guess people didn't truly get it.
Sharons story was the best I have ever seen...What a lovely young lady she grew into with a beautiful family...and the Foster Parents were a God send to her and absolute angels ...
As a former foster child who was adopted and welcomed in by a lovingly family. I am personally touched by the Rogers siblings and the Zelinski story. They are many children who are abused, abandoned and neglected daily. Though I was fortunate to have had some lovely caring and thoughtful people. Who helped and aided in raising me as an foster child, who transitioned into a teen and young adult. Upon being emancipated, I’m so sorry about what has happened to Sharon...💔 The pain certainly doesn’t go away, I still have many moments of deep sadness and feel the pain of the abandonment of my parents. My dad dying when I was sixteen, and my mom abandoning me and never trying to form a relationship with me I haven’t seen her since my late beloved biological paternal grandmother’s funeral. Almost four years ago. I have some tears typing this, sorry for the long and lengthy words. Though I’ve made it this far, I’m 32 and I still have the sadness and the emotional pain you never forget it. My heart often goes out to all foster care kids and teens, I turned out pretty great despite the circumstances I was born into. Never went back to my biological family it was not an option or best as no one could provide care, least of all my parents. Sharon should’ve never give back to her family. Assuming times were super different then, Especially with the cruel abuse of her biological family/father. He should be in jail, guess back then times were different the way he beat Sharon was absolutely horrifying 💔😢 sorry about her one other child being murdered such a sad story. Touched me personally once again you never forget, regardless of how your life turns out, and ends up. The foster care system is not perfect end certainly could be so much better. But in my case I was very fortunate though the road was not easy. I’ve had many great moments and people who’ve shown me love and have taught me lessons within the love and hurt even betrayal, but you never forget... 🕊🙇🏾🕊
You should never try to place rubber stack on Unsolved Mysteries once he was going in the shed she never tried with Dennis and that nobody could replace Robert Stack rest in peace buddy I miss you
If you got arrested for child abuse in the 80's you were really beating the sht out of your kids, because that was pretty normal for most of us growing up, getting the belt. But if you got arrested, you went above and beyond a belt whooping. Now a days, spank your kids, prison time.
That case was from 1956 so people must've been really naive in the 50s (just watching this I got pissed off how the Zelinski's took him at his word). I'm pleasantly surprised the school reported the abuse and didn't just brush it off
Steve Winter geez, now a days you tell your kids no in the supermarket, they go ballistic, you could get locked up *_without_* even touching them almost.
Nah the 80s was the decade where a lot of people made up stories of child abuse and satanic rituals. A lot of familys were torn apart because of social workers who didn't know how to talk kids. They questioned them until their stories matched what was already in the social worker's head from the beginning
Steve Winter We were NEVER hit or abused by our parents in the 60s and 70s. My folks were poor and did not have much education but they controlled themselves, behaved like adults, were consistent and loving. No screaming no put-downs, but expectations, rules and again, consistency. We all got college educations and are happy and normal.
Poor Elizabeth! If still alive, she'd be in her early 50s now, worn down, most likely emotionally destroyed, possibly an addict or homeless....her entire life stolen away from her, when it seemed so beautiful and promising. Things like this make me hate the corruption of so many men out there, how they sink their hooks into women and drain the life out of them like parasites...
And yet one of the saddest things is so many women out there are so mentally deranged that they actively go after men who are scum bags and abusers and are turned on by those kind of guys. I see it often.
That works both ways, you know. There are plenty of women who get their hooks into a guy and take him for every penny they can get. It's not only men who are evil and manipulative.
Always disappointed when there’s no update at the conclusion of the segment but I was really hoping Elizabeth had been found and ok. Too bad, she had her whole life ahead of her.
It's hard to see someone like Sharon grow up with an abusive family. The truth is that when parents do things that they shouldn't, their children will be like sponges and maybe do it too, or worse be scared. The scar Sharon was left with thanks to her father was terrible, but to see some people like the Zelinskis show her what true love and care is about, it was certainly one of the most aspirational moments that Unsolved Mysteries has ever shared. How Sharon never got to be with them after her father's arrest is beyond me, but to know that she was able to improve on her lifestyle and was able to locate the Zelinskis thanks to Unsolved Mysteries, it goes without saying that the reunion is without doubt one of the greatest segments in UM history
43:00 it's disappointing they removed the mini update about Elizabeth where they discovered someone had turned in her purse to a police station in Texas but had no record of who turned it in. :(
Oh poor kiddo. Sharon's story breaks my heart. 'Family reunification' is NOT what is always best for the kids. I had custody of 2 of my niece's for about a year. CPS was SO much more concerned with bringing the kids back into my sister's non-existent home, than they were for the health & well-being of the kids. One niece is now a high school dropout with no future plans or job, the other is missing in Texas. The other 2 kids have been adopted, and I've never even seen them. CPS is sure proud of themselves. My sister is still homeless on drugs somewhere. My own kid just graduated, has a job and a car, and is going to college or trade school (her choice) completely paid for. CPS's only goal was to get the kids back with my sister, not one shit was given for the kid's well-being. The Zelinskis are incredible humans, and Sharon never should have had to leave them.
That foster story with Sharon and the Zolinskis nearly brings tears to my eyes. Stories of this reuniting with loved ones after so long and hearing the tragic backstories is what really makes Unsolved Mysteries one of the best shows of all time
Man. Sharon’s story is crazy. I feel for her, and I understand COMPLETELY. My Parents beat me a lot when I was a kid. My Dad even strangled me. I’m almost 40 years old and my Mother went to jail last year in February for hitting my eye so bad that I was temporarily blind for a bit. She never knows when it’s time to stop. I ended up being a heavy drinker in my 20’s and 30’s, but I’m so much better now and I’m learning to forgive.
Based on the details from this segment, as well as a documentary HBO did on him years ago, I'm pretty convinced that Sonny Liston was murdered. That "overdose" death scene was so sloppily constructed.
Did the police check all possibilities including that the drugs were planted and Mr Liston was injected to make it look like suicide, I don't believe so.
That part pissed me off so much. I guess ppl were just more naive in the 50s. Like the scumbag dad just promised he wouldn't hit her again and they just took him at his word, wtf. Glad that her school reported the abuse though
me too, it sucks that they made her go back with him. Also sucks her second child lost their life due to abusive relative so sadly it ran in her family (though I don't really know how that behavior works). Didn't say the relation.
Becky Kaye I'd put money on it being her father, being they didn't say who it was. Guessing it might've been him in retaliation for being locked up. Strange how they left out what kind of punishment that family member received for the murder of her child.
I agree. It goes to show you that the courts and the child welfare system failed a lot of children like Sharon, especially back then. Just because that animal remarried doesn't mean that a court should decide that Sharon should go back to her alcoholic father and leave the loving couple that took her in and gave her love, unlike her so-called father. Didn't even hear of that looser going to therapy and rehab. It's a shame!
foster's have a lot more rights and decisions at their disposal than they did back then and now (at least in some situations) the needs of the child is what matters....... not always but sometimes it all works out.
@@pansysgarden Her dad got his justice in jail - they are not nice to people who harm children there! He had just married & left his new wife & kids to got to jail - he had everything! A family. I hope Sharon got the counseling she needed.
The communication with the family of the z’s is just wonderful she found her way they listened to her concerns how she felt ,angels from above , we need that understanding not just from family but for us people just listen for a person in need that’s all it takes be amazed on how you would make them feel ❤️
Most of these people that think they saw Elizabeth never saw the flyer until after the sighting. I’m just wondering why they didn’t get a tag number or call the police with a description of the car. It’s clear that everyone felt she was with the man against her will. I would rather call the cops and be wrong than sit back thinking “wow that was weird”.
I get what you're saying, but I worked in retail for years. If I'd called the cops every time I saw something that seemed a little off, I would have been calling them every day.
According to the Unsolved Mysteries wiki, four years after she disappeared her purse turned up in the evidence room of the Crockett County sheriffs office, 300 miles away. They have no record of it showing up and they're hoping that somebody will remember turning it in. Her father has since passed away and her mother is elderly and in poor health. The male convenience store worker who saw her passed away in 2009.
@@capacola262743 I think somebody offered her a ride and murdered her because she rejected his advances. I think the sightings are not elizabeth but just an overbearing asian boyfriend of a totally unrelated person. Caucasians aren't really good at identifying asian faces apart. I also think if she was still alive, she would have reached out by now. Unfortunately I think she is deceased.
God bless the Zelinskis! They’re amazing people. After watching this episode of unsolved mysteries and listening to Sharon Stevens story, I was very touched by it. I couldn’t help but cry. I empathize with Sharon Stevens situation. Im very happy for that woman to know that the Zelinski’s provided her with the compassion, care and love that she desperately needed to become emotionally stable, heal psychological wounds/scars, and to develop positively as a child by bringing out the best in her. Those people set an example on how environment makes a difference in one’s life. I truly believe that. We see how it impacts stuff like self-esteem, self-efficacy, confidence, etc. Those qualities that we need are necessary for sustainability, functionally and productivity. It goes to show how we are as adults results from our upbringing. The way we are as children carries over into our adulthood. *Bill Zelinski is right. That story had a purpose. I think they were meant to save this woman’s life. I just wish she could’ve went back into that foster home to live there again. I don’t understand why she wasn’t put back into that household? Sharon had a connection with that couple and what was working should’ve been kept that way. Regardless, perhaps the little time she spent there may have been sufficient for her? P.S. This is a great story of courage as well.
Last case: Too sad....Elizabeth Campbell woumd be 54 today if alive which is HIGHLY unlikely. If you see anything suspicious, call it out. It could save a life. And Elizabeth's parents....they seemed like such good people. I feel for them.
It's actually possible if the person who abducted her was gaslighting her into believing any lies he told. And especially if he cut her off from society. Anything is possible until they find proof otherwise.
I wish I could go back in time & put the same beating on Sharon's father, that he put on her. I believe the reason she couldn't go back with the Zelinskis after her father was locked up, might be because she ran to them & they didn't call her father. Not saying its the right call, but that's the justice system for ya, as unjust as possible.
@@karenlindsey5988 we don't know for sure, but they don't seem like the type to do that. Then again, they did try to convince her that he wouldn't beat her up when they got home, and that wasn't true.

They hope that someone will remember turning it in in either 1988 or 1989 and have new information about the case.
To this day, however, the case remains unsolved. If she is still alive, she would now be fifty years old. Her parents are now elderly and poor health, but they hope for a resolution in the case. Roger Anyon, the convenience store worker who witnessed her with her abductor, passed away in 2009 at the age of 86.
Thank You Vegeta Solo, your updates are really helpful!!!
Trace-Elementz13 Definitely.
Yes sir. Do not pay the ingrate trolls on here any mind. I always read every single one of your updates start to finish.
I hope that the purse was tested for DNA.
So sad. Human trafficking is so horrible. I'd rather be dead than to be taken, robbed of my hopeful future plans, everything I have, and used like that. I wish bad karma on that evil person that took her. I wish with all my heart for her freedom and piece.
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES had Robert Stack an A List legendary actor with high credibility. This show used Hollywood motion picture quality film and special effects... that is why it was So Great! That's Also Why it can Never be repeated...
It also can't be re-created because of all of the fame hunger and social media
Make sure y’all are watching these in order. Mr. Stack would prefer it that way.
"Some of you are watching these. Some maybe watching OUT of order. Perhaps... its you"

She had amazing foster parents. Just goes to show u don't have to be a biological parent to make a huge impact and love a child.
Love - it moves mountains!
Obviously 🙄
Sometimes it’s when you can’t biologically have children that you appreciate it all the more when you can nurture someone. They chose to take kids in who had it bad, who had trauma and wanted to show them a loving family.
Agreed ❤❤❤

I can't believe a relative killed Sharon's kid!!!! I can't believe how positive she was after that and her crappy childhood. these reunion episodes always make me cry
That lost loves Sharon and the Zelinskis brought me to tears, oh my what a story. Such a tragedy a. The fostering system and b. That she couldn’t stay with them not to mention she was forced back into a child abusers home. Just sad all round but I’m so happy they found each other. Tears of rejoice
I'm not judging the Zelinskis but if I had been Bill I would have told her father, "If we hear from Sharon that you have been abusive in any way, then we will report you to the police."
How wonderful that the school noticed her injuries and had him arrested. I'm so happy for the joyful reunion Sharon had with that wonderful couple.
I think they did threaten the father with that. Hence why they let her go home with him. I guess they had more faith in child abusers than we do. Nowadays we understand abuse more, but back then I guess people didn't truly get it.
Seeing Sharon reunite with the Zelinskis made my eyes water. It is so touching that this story had a happy ending
Sharons story was the best I have ever seen...What a lovely young lady she grew into with a beautiful family...and the Foster Parents were a God send to her and absolute angels ...
The way Mrs.Z is smiling at Sharon is so amazing.
That was a face just full of love and compassion. I’m so glad they found each other.
They were her true mom and dad.
best show ever to watch on a cold day love robert stack
Great show. Robert Stack is slick as hell 🌹
Definitely a smooth operator 😎

Blessings to You!

No Stackie No Watchie!!
I wholeheartedly agree he was one of a kind
You took the words right out of my mouth. For a parent to be arrested in that time, it would have to have been horrific.
Rest in Peace, Tom Campbell. If Elizabeth is deceased, they are finally together.
Speaking as a man, I agree with you. I wish there were more Zelinski's out there...
And yet one of the saddest things is so many women out there are so mentally deranged that they actively go after men who are scum bags and abusers and are turned on by those kind of guys. I see it often.
@@Alex-dc3xp r/niceguys
That works both ways, you know. There are plenty of women who get their hooks into a guy and take him for every penny they can get. It's not only men who are evil and manipulative.
Always disappointed when there’s no update at the conclusion of the segment but I was really hoping Elizabeth had been found and ok. Too bad, she had her whole life ahead of her.
People like the Zelinskis ♥️
Oh god. I just want to give Sharon the biggest hug. I remember seeing this when it first aired. Sharon💖💖
She looks great!
Seeing the family reunion made my eyes water. It is very touching
Man oh man, Unsolved Mysteries is a treasure trove of mullets and mom-jeans!! So nostalgic...😮
Especially the mullets 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The actor portraying Sonny Liston was real life boxer Ron Lyle who famously battled Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.
Keep fighting the good fight, brother. You’re breaking the generational cycle of trauma. Well done.
Based on the details from this segment, as well as a documentary HBO did on him years ago, I'm pretty convinced that Sonny Liston was murdered. That "overdose" death scene was so sloppily constructed.
I agree. I watched that HBO documentary, too.
That cop saying that it was obviously a drug overdose cuz of the drugs on the counter. What a simpleton. Is he being serious? 🤡
Did the police check all possibilities including that the drugs were planted and Mr Liston was injected to make it look like suicide, I don't believe so.
"Join us tonight for their touching and heartwarming reunion."

Sharon and the Zelinskys was a beautiful story. If there were more people like the Zelinskys the world would not be in the shape it is in.
Can you imagine if all foster parents were as amazing as those people?
The fact that they took her from the zellinkis and put her back with her abusive dad......
@I. Wynn Wynn didn't she?
That part pissed me off so much. I guess ppl were just more naive in the 50s. Like the scumbag dad just promised he wouldn't hit her again and they just took him at his word, wtf. Glad that her school reported the abuse though
I know, so sad!
me too, it sucks that they made her go back with him.
The Elizabeth Ann Campbell one gave me chills down to my spine idk why
It's that scary man who abducted her. That composite sketch. Shudder.
I think the Zelinski's should of been able to adopt Sharon instead of her having back to monster of a father she had.
It just dawned on me that the creepy song is the same one that is playing in the movie Halloween!😬
@@pansysgarden Her dad got his justice in jail - they are not nice to people who harm children there! He had just married & left his new wife & kids to got to jail - he had everything! A family. I hope Sharon got the counseling she needed.

“Strong armin’ to make a living,” also known as “robbery.”
Exactly! How do you see someone that looks like they are scared and being held against their will and not do anything.
I’m pretty sure that wasn’t her to begin with I think it was all assumptions
I wish there an update on the Elizabeth story.
UPDATE! she's been dead since the first night. either the boyfriend or some random criminal killed her. all the rest is pure bullshit.

I'm so glad that the Rogers children finally found each other!!
Elizabeth Campbell is gorgeous. Those cheekbones! The photos of her are so glamorous. Beautiful girl. Tragic story.
Stories like Sharon's are why I want to foster children in my home.

How do we know they didn’t call the father? Did they say that?
@@karenlindsey5988 we don't know for sure, but they don't seem like the type to do that. Then again, they did try to convince her that he wouldn't beat her up when they got home, and that wasn't true.
