A short clip caught from a BRITISH PATE' movie about the work in the radio room on the Ocean Liner "ORCADES" at the time of Transatalantic voyages on board Liner ships.
I used one of those Vibraplex "bugs", but actually preferred to use the standard PO morse key. I worked "Orcades" and sisters, on HF, from Awaruaradio/ZLB, New Zealand. Great memories, it's been 3 decades since ZLB shut down, but I can still send and receive morse.

visited the radio station now a museum..I worked Coastal when BCL took over from Telecom.....
Noticed the washers on the pendulum arm of the Vibroplex. Slowed it down.
Me too.
I've never understood why bugs did not come with more weight(s)
Hi! Someone put more weight(s) themselves. In the clip above it seems the Operator put maybe some magnets...
