    Dave is pretty much on point, I have the same setup, fh3 + utws3 and I couldn't be happier.

    Very nice review. Laid back and not too technical. Easy to understand. Keep safe. BTW nice backdrop.

    The balanced tips are the black ones, the white and red tips are the vocal tips and the dark grey and red tips are the bass tips. Personally i prefer to use SpinFit cp145 tips with these. Adds more weight to the sound and gives better seal.

      Excellent addition, K. Thanks so much. I am, however, slightly embarrassed that I thought the "vocal" tips gave me more bass. I blame Ella. 😁

    FH3 is a very good iem. Fantastic package. A bit of a metallic sound but it does have a shimmer. Excellent tuning, a bit of all all arounder but not a slow sound. It has energy but never fatiguing. I have more than a dozen Chifi IEMs and this is the third Best. Only bested by my $700 monarch and $700 clairvoyance. It's my daily driver connected to R3 pro Sabre.

      Cool, but, ummm... I don't know what "shimmer" is, nor "metallic sound". :-)

    Did they ever better the FH3 ? For me still the best in my small collection.

    New subscriber here! Just waiting mine to arrive from China didn't wait for a 9.9 sale to come. Was binge watching all videos about this fh3 here on RUclips and all have positive reviews 😀
    Can you recommend any usb dongle to drive this? Or I better wait for mine to arrive and test? My phone is redmi note 10 pro which hi-res certification

    I've never used an IEM before abd I'm really curious to know how do these compare to a pair of wireless earbuds such as Jabra or sony in terms of sound quality. thanks

    Hello sir. Just stumbled upon your video as I was looking for some reviews before I decided to buy a new iem. May I ask which of these two would you recommend based on sound quality/presentation alone - this FiiO FH3 or the Audio-Technica E50? My initial choices include the Final Audio A4000 and the Sennheiser IE40 Pro as well since they are pretty much in the same price range. I would buy them all if I could but I can only settle on one, so I would like to really think these through before I end up regretting my choice.

      U could try fiio amps

  • @mcjonner
    @mcjonner 3 года назад +1

    Hi, when using these on a phone even though they are so sensitive, would you recommend using a dongle dac amp for better sound? Would the extra power make it sound better along with the better dac? When using Spotify would these or a high end dongle dac be overkill for probably 320kps quality.
    Thanks!

    • @AskDaveTaylor

      My experience is that a good external DAC definitely improves the audio, but it isn't a requirement with decent gear like these FiiO earphones. Since it's an easy add-on, I suggest you get your earbuds / IEM / headphones and try them for a week or two, then if you're feeling that there's something missing, acquire the DAC too.

      Sure and I'm surprised you found it that bright. Did you check the EQ on your source device and try different size eartips?

      @@RT7 Do you still have the same opinion? I've been reading every review I can on them and I've never seen them described as unbalanced until now.

    Will they be comfortable if I wear glasses?

    • @AskDaveTaylor
      @AskDaveTaylor  Год назад

      I don't wear glasses so didn't test that, but generally I would guess that these are not the style of earbuds you want if you do wear glasses, since the arm of your glasses will end up sitting on the wire that's wrapped around your ear.

    Dave says the utws3 bluetooth adapters cost about 80 dollars. I saw them for 580 dollars. Where do you get them for 80.

    • @AskDaveTaylor

      There are a few, yes. I wish they all still did, but the most popular smartphones on the market generally do not, as I stated in the video.
