What a monster! I bough one of these with a friend from a car auction when I was a teenager for 5 pounds. The auction commission was 12 pounds, more than double what the car cost us. All the nuts and bolts are russian sizes so we couldnt even fix anything on it without Russian spanners We sold it for 15 pounds
Yes, this is siren " Presston 7512 " from " Elektris Hungary Company "! In 1983 was begining the modification from Martinshorn to Presston "WAIL". This siren was in all cars of VoPo, Ambulance an Firetrucks. The next generation of the "Presston 7512" is " Eriston 150" with 3 sounds Wail, HiLo and yilp.
Seit wann gab es im FStW. Wartburg 353 5-Gang Getriebe? 5-Gang gab es meines Wissens nur von Melkus, im RS 1000 und von König für die Rally-Fahrzeuge. Die vom AWE hatten in ihren WR´s auch 5-Gang-Getriebe. Aber die VP .... nee, die hatten nur Serie.
This can absolutely be. I was not for a long time any more in Hungary. In the GDR it was introduced the Eriston 150 in 1986 / in 1987 in the cities introduced only at the police and the Ambulance (SMH). The fire brigade kept the "Martinshorn" and the Presston in 7512.
There your friend has been wrong. The "Volkspolizei" drove Wartburg only with original 4-way gears. The 5-way gears built in the GDR were driven exclusively for the motor sport on Wartburg which also disposed of more achievement. Example: Melkus RS 1000 in the racing version with more than 110 HP or Wartburg WR with up to 130 HP of achievement. There a higher speed was also reached.
It is not really a monster. The car also has no Russian screws, although in Russia also the metrical system is valid. It is a German car with german screws, were used so to German Institute for Standardization ( DIN ) or TGL. Long live the metrical system. God protects us against zoll and Inches!;-)
So weit ich weiss gab es auch mal eine Ausführung mit 5Gang und größeren Tank ... aber die wurden von einer anderen Behörde benutzt und waren meist Kombis... aber ich bin mir nicht sicher.
lol ich hatte so ein Teil als *ferngesteuertes Auto* mit Kabel an der Fernbedienung...das war ungefähr nen Meter lang...Hupe und Sirene gab´s auch-voll genial, hatte ich einen Spaß beim Hinterdackeln.verfickt geilooooo
Das was Du meinst, klingt wie das Schießen in "Krieg der Sterne". Das ist Ton 2 der "Eriston 150" . Zu bedeuten hatte das wohl nichts, wahrscheinl. ist dieser nervende Ton wohl besser wahrnehmbar.
@asupersoul .... es wird wohl dem Umstand geschuldet gewesen sein, daß solche Kleingeister wie Du dort im Westen, von der Weltgeschichte nicht viel beigebracht bekommen haben. Sonst würdest Du dir diese Frage selbst beantworten können. Lag und liegt sehr wahrscheinl. am Bildungssystem, denn das ist ja heute immer noch große Kacke. Sei nicht traurig darüber, solche unwissenden Leute wie Dich muß es aber auch geben, sonst funzt das System nicht. In diesem Sinne ....

Yeah! And normally the Hungarian Ambulances and Firetrucks still use this Eriston 150 right?
