- A judge in a small eastern Kentucky town was shot and killed in his chambers Thursday, and the local sheriff is under arrest. District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Kentucky State Police. Nobody else was injured. Trooper Matt Gayheart joins "Banfield" to discuss what happened. "We were able to clear the courthouse and make sure there were no additional threats," Gayheart said on "Banfield." "It's a tragic situation. It's not something that we ever want to deal with."

How is he so patient with these stupid questions? Ashley just can't comprehend that Officer Gayheart might have been busy doing his job. He told her that there was an overwhelming response of state and local authorities, extreme chaos, while still doing his job of securing the courthouse and making sure there were no additional threats... Ashley: "what was he wearing? Can't you tell me? Try. You did see him right? Did he look distraught?" He was surrounded by police. Uggh... I need to take patience lessons from Officer Gayheart.
He is the spokesperson for the department for this case. I saw him in other interviews and that's how they're titling him 😊

Ashley banfield is reporting she spoke to the clerk and there is video of the incident. The judge showed the sheriff something on his phone. Just sheriff got up off his chair and unloaded. Looked at the phone again and left the room.

The reason the state of Kentucky chose to have state police many decades ago rather than highway patrol. very few requirements to run for county sheriff, just need votes.
When judges refuse to sentence criminals sometimes even sheriffs have to take the law into their own hands.

Please tell me he is not the PIO for his department. He wouldn’t answer anything. Then why do any interview at all? I understand you cannot say much but he said NOTHING! “When asked if the sheriff was in uniform and he replied that he did not recall? Say you cannot divulge that but don’t lie and say you cannot recall. If you cannot recall that, you have no business being in LE because your ability to pay attention and notice details is non-existent and therefore you should find another job.
