For what it's worth I've had the LinkBuds S for about 2 weeks and very happy with them so far. Came from the WF-1000XM3s which, although they sounded great, were never that comfortable. So I wanted something smaller and lighter, which swayed me towards the LinkBuds over the XM4s. In terms of comfort they're light years ahead - can wear them for hours on end with no pain or fatigue at all. Having said that I wasn't exactly blown away by the sound quality at first. I always ran the XM3s with the EQ off as they just sounded right to me like that, and I did the same with the LinkBuds at first. They definitely sounded less 'alive'. But having played around with the EQ a bit I've got them to where they sound (at least to my ear) about 95% of the way there vs the XM3s, which is great. The only thing I have noticed is a weird and very pronounced cut in the high frequencies if I go above ~85% volume, but I almost never go that high, especially with ANC on, so it's fine for me. The ANC itself definitely isn't quite as strong as the XM3s, but it's good enough for commuting on a noisy bus/train/whatever. And the transparency mode I think is actually a bit better - more natural sounding. Haven't tried the mics yet and I suspect I won't be that impressed when I do, but that's not why I bought them, so no big deal for me.
I just purchased these last night. They are renewed. I decided to go with the renewed version instead of paying the full price for the new version. I had a pair of wf-1000xm3. I really liked them. Unfortunately, I lost one of my earbuds, so I decided to get the Sony LinkBuds S. Will see how these renew version does.
Comeing from you your the only person I trust on buying ear buds I bought my galaxy buds pro 2 years ago when I watched ur content I hope I make the right decision cuz I either want xm4 or buds s
People are more concerned with voice quality, Qi charging, transparency mode, if they’re good for workouts, etc. All except for how good they sound playing music. A lot of the companies are tuning down their bass and volume on a lot of their newer earbuds. Jabra , Sony and Beats are prime examples. Why are they doing that? Is it because the speaker they’re using can’t handle deep bass and lots of volume because they’ll begin to rattle? I’ve returned 4 earbuds because of this and I am still looking for a pair with enough bass and volume since 75t are no longer available new. The 2 sets of 75t I also returned because they were damaged even though they were sold as new. It’s a jungle in the world of earbuds.😖
I am in the position of finding new buds after my Jabra Elite 75T stopped charging and tried a lot of tips on youtube and internet but nothing seem to bring them back to life. Now that I have been spoiled with the deep bass on the Elite 75T, I am wondering which other headphones come close to that without compromising much on other sound. I feel like the Elite 75T had a rich bass (mind you I had to lower it a bit from EQ from default setting) but also an overall good sound, without compromising on mids and highs. Have you managed to compare Linkbuds S to the Elite 75T?

@@SuperJuvexxx they’re better in their own ways. Personally I would never buy the xm4s simply because the comfort has real issues. I love to hear that they pushed an upgrade to add multi point access. Have they pushed an update that improves the call quality too? That's the only thing that has me hesitant.
Design-wise, they look good. Based on your comments the sound quality is there, but that call quality seemed really bad. Based on that alone, I would pass on them.
So like, is the left one the one with volume controls, and the right one play/pause, skip/previous? Or is each one ACTUALLY fully independent. Companies like to say their earbuds are full independent, but you lose half the controls when you only wear one
Mostly is, wired earpods are making a return due to some weird trend but they're still overshadowed by the wireless earbuds overall. They still have some like in the consumer market and alot left in the professional one tho
Sony is going to need to do better with these buds. They need to have a better call quality. It is very disappointing to see a product by Sony to be so not up to par.
I want to use linkbuds s with my windows 7 laptop but someone told me I won't be able to pair them because they require A2DP technology which is not available in Windows 7 Is that correct??
I have fallen asleep with the original linkbuds. But I have lost them in the morning. Took me a while to find them twice.... Once I had to turn it up... The other time I could not hear it as it was not flat to anything to actually turn on. But they can be felt when on side

Anyone seeing this comment: please don't buy Sony Linkbuds S. I was thinking that they are the great earbuds, based on review, but I have to say it is a piece of crap. Eveyone is saying that micrphone/call quality is top-notch, but it is actually the worst part of the earbuds. Immediately after starting the call, they automatically turn on Sidetone (like an ambient mode) and you can barely hear the other side due to wind/white noise + ambient sound around it. Interestigly enough, there is no SINGLE WORD about that from the reviewer. That makes them unsable in any environment except its own quiet room. It is imppossible to use them in train / open office / coffee shops / running...so please stay away from them and buy way better earbuds in the same price range: Nothing Ear 2 or Anker Libert 4 (4 NC) or similar price range Jabra models...
Thanx David for the great review, i wonder why other youtubers got a better call sound in their reviews? is it possible that this unit is faulty by chance?

Nice review. I'm looking for an earbud that also works as noise reduction in a woodshop. Earbuds that market towards that market report a reduction in decibel rating of some amount. typically around 20 - 30 decibels. I haven't been able to find that for these. Do you know or know where I might be able to find that out. Thank You!
The dealbreaker is the wind noise during call that can't be turned off. I believe It might be deal breaker for many
LDAC is definitely a plus, but pointless if the tiny 5mm drivers are not capable of reproducing the fidelity. Probably great for fitness though.
7:50 As of November 22 they do have a multipoint connection to laptop and smartphone.
Yes, with 2.0.2 firmware
I love to hear that they pushed an upgrade to add multi point access. Have they pushed an update that improves the call quality too? That's the only thing that has me hesitant.
Multipoint should be a must at this price range.
Undecided to buy this..
I've owned xm4 1000 and they were Terrible kept falling out , ear pain withing 1hr use. I returned them
The big problem with Sony earbuds is you can't tweek the eq with ldac format. Only sbc. Should have mentioned that for us soundgeeks :)
Are you sure this is true? I have the EQ set on my WF-1000XM4's and my phone says it's playing via LDAC. Nothing indicates that it's not.
@@kylevanwagn3r Maybe they changed that with 4:s? The previos models had this issue
they look so niiiiiicceeeee and clean
The fit is great and quality is great indoors, but as soon as I use them outdoors the audio stutters 5-6 times per min. I checked if any of the settings in the Sony app could cause this but nothing helped.
I've used many buds and have never experienced this issue before. Not sure if I got a lemon or if it's a software issue 🤔
I really like these may have to get them for my Birthday.😅
Curious how they compare to the Samsung Buds Pro. I like the sound quality on the Buds Pro but the noise cancelling is not great.
Surely we're due a Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2. I bought mine at launch. They're perfect in everyway except for noise cancelling. I also have the Bose QC Earbuds and there's no comparison on noise cancelling, but the Samsung win ever other category.
just got the buds pro yesterday and for me they're giving me too much ear fatigue even with the proper ear tips. about to return mine. for me the noise cancelation is pretty good so surprised u think it's not. Sad about the pros becuz I also just returned my Buds2 last week because the x2 and x3 tap feature were a hit or miss when it came to its responsiveness. My Galaxy buds 1 are my best buds I've used to date. hoping these Sony ones will be better
@@jonathanasigri9487 Its looking like the Buds Pro 2 may be on deck for August, so will be interesting to see how the next gen turns out.
They're just great for music listening... Not so for calls
What would be for calls around same price?
For me ,is the big brother of C500 ,just because is so similar, their biggest brother is the xm4......
I thought linkbuds main focus is unmuffled ambient mode. Now, it's just a cheap wf-1000xm4.
in my country the xm4 are selling at the same price of the linkbuds s, are they better?
@@SuperJuvexxx they’re better in their own ways. Personally I would never buy the xm4s simply because the comfort has real issues. Like people kinda hate the large size and the foam eartips causing discomfort. Everyone cares about sound quality only but what I’ve found is that there’s no point in wearing earphones, regardless of sound quality that cause such discomfort. Because then you can’t listen to it.
They added multipoint support
I love to hear that they pushed an upgrade to add multi point access. Have they pushed an update that improves the call quality too? That's the only thing that has me hesitant.
The mic quality was aweful! Come on Sony.
Design-wise, they look good. Based on your comments the sound quality is there, but that call quality seemed really bad. Based on that alone, I would pass on them.
I agree. The call quality was really bad and for that I wouldn't buy them either especially at $200.
So like, is the left one the one with volume controls, and the right one play/pause, skip/previous? Or is each one ACTUALLY fully independent. Companies like to say their earbuds are full independent, but you lose half the controls when you only wear one
You can customize the controls through the Sony app, left can be volume control, Spotify control (change playlist) and a couple of other functions
Is there a vent?
These are 2 dollars?
How are they compared to the Soundcore Liberty 3 pros?
do you guys believe wired earbuds are dead? in consumers market??
Mostly is, wired earpods are making a return due to some weird trend but they're still overshadowed by the wireless earbuds overall. They still have some like in the consumer market and alot left in the professional one tho
Can these connect directly to the PS5?.
Sony is going to need to do better with these buds. They need to have a better call quality. It is very disappointing to see a product by Sony to be so not up to par.
I am thinking of buying xm4 though. But if i wait till wf 1000xm5 out, do you think xm4 will be cheaper?
Doubt it since the whXM3s are still as expensive even with the release of the XM4s and XM5s

gotta love this guy 😆
These or bose sport earbuds?
Fell short is an understatement. That mic is horrendous!
Sir is it not available in India?? Tell me please
Informative video. Just delete the very annoying background music next time
Price is high for what they can do. Call quality is poor. Size and look are great. Would have considered for around $100 to $150.
When to buy in Europa ?
I want to use linkbuds s with my windows 7 laptop but someone told me I won't be able to pair them because they require A2DP technology which is not available in Windows 7 Is that correct??
Nice! How much??
200$
Not worth it! I got some Chinese made knock off for $30 that work Great!
I'd surely consider to switch to this over my C500, seems more good looking one!
what are the most comfortable earbuds to sleep with?
probs bose sleepbuds
Don't sleep with earbuds
No earbuds, remove yourself from digital world and take your rest
It doesn't exists.
I have fallen asleep with the original linkbuds. But I have lost them in the morning. Took me a while to find them twice.... Once I had to turn it up... The other time I could not hear it as it was not flat to anything to actually turn on.
But they can be felt when on side
How are they compared to the XM3's?
I have to wonder based on other reviews of this did you guys get a bad unit when it comes to voice calls?
They pushed an upgrade to add multi point access. Have they pushed an update that improves the call quality too? That's the only thing that has me hesitant.
Wow! You had me until the phone call. Absolutely horrible. NEXT!
How is the bass effect
I think I'll stick with my SoundPeats TruAir2.
Why do they even call them link buds ? Maybe wf s810 or something would be better
Well they are literally unusable for me with call quality being that bad.
These buds should've been priced around one hundred dollars. Two hundred is too high.
Thanks. Great video. I seem to understand that the original open ear ring drive is better for office life use.. I always want to able hear around
Do these sound better than the AirPods 2 I am looking to upgrade ? :)
Here in canada the linkbuds s and wf1000xm4 are the same price
Not true. 299 vs 399
@@Max.527 umm no both are 299 where i am in canada 299 on Amazon reg 320 so only 20 dollar difference.
Thanx David for the great review, i wonder why other youtubers got a better call sound in their reviews?
is it possible that this unit is faulty by chance?
This was a real torture test with a lot of background noise. Possible they didn’t make calls in such conditions. I’m sure they’d be quite decent in less noisy environments.

Does anyone know if these are compatible with PS5 & dualsense controllers?
WF-1000XM4 is better, so it is more expensive, but WF-LS900N is 25%off of its price these few days in Australia, so I bought ls900n,
Black! Please.
Just bought these and they my MacBook Pro won't recognize them to Bluetooth. Iphone is ok, but Not for the MacBook.
What 200$ and i cant use one at a time left or right ?
I'll stick with soundcore 100$ cheaper and i can use one at time right or left ?
Taking the Sony back and getting Skullcandy 180$ cheaper but i can use one at time right or left ? Now why cant 200$ give me that ?
You actually can use one or the other, you have to turn off your Google Assistant or Alexa assistant for it to work.
Wen it ll be lanuch in India
That voice call was terrible. I'm happy with my galaxy buds 1st edition.
