  • Audio recording from Kongsberg Jazz Festival 07.07.2018
    Svein Erik Martinsen Ånnestad, Guitar
    Anders Aarum, Keyboard
    Jens Fossum, Bass
    Magnus Sefaniassen Eide, Drums
As the only available recording from this amazing concert is audio only, I wanted to use that audio track and add short clips from Angelina's other performances of this song as some kind of chronological "growing up" story, but I had to give up ...
Since every performance of this song is different in tempo and phrasing it was just too difficult for me to get a decent video/audio sync and I ended up by using some footage from the Apollo 11 launch. After all, it's been claimed that Buzz Aldrin brought a recording of this song on the mission. I don't claim this to be true or anything, but it sounds likely. Anyway, I left some movie clips of Angelina from various performances in this video, and the audio track is the unaltered live performance as from Angelina's Official Channel • Angelina Jordan - LIVE...
I hope you all still like it :)

Angelina's voice is so beautiful and sweet-sounding and has such an incredibly soothing and peaceful effect that I could listen to her forever.

This is, by far, my favorite rendition of the song.

After reading your description i want to say that I think you achieved what you set out to do! When the Apollo scene was over it was stunning to see her and her many awesome performances of this tune. It is better I think that the clips cannot be sync''ed in the video because it is not the reality and it really gives the message a dreamy, nostalgic effect, much better than distracting attempts to match things up.. you could even run them in slight slow mo and it might be really cool.. thanks for doing this. This video is like a message of the music history that is already legacy.

Doing a slow mo sounds like a great idea, and yes ... I wanted to make it obvious that the video clips aren't from this actual performance, but still have them somewhat synced to the words ... I might rework this video later on with your suggestions :)

there are only 2 things I wish Angelina would do: revisit Gloomy Sunday and cover Killing me softly then I could die a happy man

I'd love to hear her sing "I Who Have Nothing" again. I bet she'd just massacre any other recording now when she's had ~5 years to mature her voice since the previous recording. And there are a lot of other songs on my wish list - too long to mention here.

Excellent way to handle not having a visual. Outstanding idea and execution. And I echo everything Brian Tang said, although the slo-mo may or may not work.
Fun fact: Listened to this during he 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, so the footage REALLY fit in.

Clever choice to include footage from the Apollo 11 launch as I can imagine its near impossible to sync different performances together, Love your videos, keep up the great work
