If you really want to play as pure (or almost pure) wizard, school of evocation is useless for you. Choose necromancer or abjuration instead, even enhancement is better. For damage (really big numbers) you need to multiclass in storm cleric(2) and sorcerer(8). For wizard class use divination. With opening of two twinned chain lightning (maximized - use amulet that gives you additional charge of channel divinity) on water surface most enemies will be electrocuted to death, and you even can use third if you use twin staffs with arcane battery.
i agree. My only frustration is the low wizard level which then causes less spell slots for learned wizard spells. It's not bad cuz you can always change prepared spells but it's a bit annoying on a controller
if you wanna build Fire wiz, better play Light Cleric Light Cleric share fire spell with wiz but have better spell Flame Strike/Radian of the Dawn and Destruction wave all of them deal good damage and good effect also you have Guardian spirit and can wear medium armor/shield On my Gale's Honour mode run I found Wiz have advantage from learn many spell and can prepare it on every situation, mean focus on single element is waste of feats Start with fighter aren't bad for Con Save but if you Main char is Wiz I recommend dips Cleric better, you can Guidance/Resistance/Thaumaturgy/Bless youself on Dialog check and can wear Medium armor + Shield when you Race don't have Proficiency if dip Tempest Cleric you can wear Heavy armor and Martial weapon, With 16 Dex you can deal damage with Heavy Crossbow/Rapier better than you Cantip on Early game
For the AC then. The harder it is to hit you, the deadlier you are right? Draconic Sorcerer is good but so is this Gish build. The more proficiencies the better Edit: just putting a disclaimer that I’m new so I may be wrong. Correct me if I am and I meant no disrespect
@@InnocentLock-er6et the major weakness of mages are being a glass cannon that easilly get interrupted if hit by something. Figther gives very high AC and constitituon proficiency for maintaining the concetration of your spells (sorcerer also gives). If you're not a human or half-elf, you can't even use shields if you pick sorcerer.
we took fighter or the defense? I mean cleric has that same heavy armour with more synergy with destructive wrath on lightning spell. Mage armor, amour of agathy's if you get sorc draconian, or warlock plus shield is kinda enough. Abjuration wizard still allows you to do the same spell damage but have one of the best defense i the game. Is there any other benefit to fighter at level 1?
And as cleric you also have a sanctuary as a bonus action. Cast concentration spell, cast sanctuary and wait for opportunity to unleash your power. Especially useful on the first walkthrough, when you dont know what to expect. Get ambushed? Cast Hast\mass control \ best buff -and then sanctuary
fighter has proficiency in constitution saving throws (good for keeping the concentration on spells) and +1AC, i prefer this than Tempest Cleric, because it's only a reaction that occasionally causes 2d8 damage (we already have shield, counterspell, Psionic Backlash and maybe Psionic Dominance). Heavy Armour in bg3 is cleary better than any other armour type in the game, just look at the effects in overall. Most of them have magical plate, resistance to damage and higher AC. You can only suppass the AC using Armour of Agility with 18 dex or more.
Yeah, definitely can. Wizard can do alot of stuff+ interesting and strategic. Check out my : dark urge assasin, wyll sorlock and karlach monk for really op solo builds

hey dude i didnt know you but your build works very fine for me =) and even the guide is very nicely shown =) thx good one
Love your builds. Love this game.
Shield is a reaction so it’s a good use of action economy I thought
Action economy - yes. Spell slot is not cool in my op
But you get a free +5 to AC which makes it one of the best defensive spells in the game imo
Um… fighter at lvl 1 is okay, but Sorc 1 is better. Then you could also take cleric 1. I think you don’t gain enough for 1 level of fighter dip
This guy always wants to use heavy armor on his casters for some reason. I’ve tried to convince him of sorc before but he hates the idea…
For the AC then. The harder it is to hit you, the deadlier you are right? Draconic Sorcerer is good but so is this Gish build. The more proficiencies the better

Amazing. Could you do a solo-run with this? If not, do you have any builds for solo honour mode?
