@@Unders can you please point me to which record it's from with a timestamp for the break? The only James Brown version I know is the James Brown and the J.B.s version which doesn't have a clean break (or good sounding drums).
The only Hot Pants break I know comes from the B side of the Bobby Bryd Hot Pants single... ruclips.net/video/btx79bzbauU/видео.htmlsi=dNO5pFJDaMnD0rZa
@@evankiljoy Your right, i've named my files the wrong way round! Good spot! ima edit my original reply for context to anyone else 🙏 by the one played back in the video as you said is the Byrd version. But like an idiot i've named it JB.

Banger video, mate :) I know the breaks, I've got 'em all somewhere, but I super appreciate both putting them all in context for producers and also kindly making this pack available. Legend, doing the lord's work :)
@@Unders I despise it. I hate it. Every time its in a DnB track it feels mundane, overused and - as you even mention in the video, heard for a thousand times! I know not every artist can reinvent the wheel, doesn't have to - but it seems rather lazy to me to not at least cut the voice out of the loop.
@Damiaen. 😂 personally huge love for Dawn Wall where it’s there in every tune. I will agree it can be used badly. I heated my tune from like 15 years ago and winced 😂😂😂
@@Damiaen. Yea, but it's like Amen. It's transcended to the point that it can be used over and over, Think was the 2nd break after Amen to hit this point. In a few years to decades, hot pants or roachclip will hit this level, I feel like Appache is very, very close right now and will be the next, especially if the jungle reassurgence guys keep rinsing appache! It'll happen!
The Apache break comes from a song by The Incredible Bongo Band, and that's a clue about what percussion instrument you're hearing in it. (Hint: not toms.)
Hey man. Just tried messaging you on insta to save going through here but wont go through. Just thought I’d give u a shout and let u know that none of ur videos seem to be appearing in my subscriptions tab on RUclips. I have to wait for them to come up in my home feed days later. I’v tried unsubbing and subbing again and no luck. Been like it for last 3-4 uploads at least and thats just what I know of
So that Hot Pants sample is actually a version of Hot Pants by Bobby Byrd off a record named Hot Pants (bonus beats).
This man's CORRECT, i named the file wrong, Both are useable options but the one played isn't the one mentioned.

@@evankiljoyadded correction in the pinned comment too 🙏Thanks for pointing out the error, and forcing my hand to check too.
Great vid unders, for me personally the think break is king. Another one is the worm break, this break is very underrated
its iconic, even if overused
OH MY GOD THIS VIDEO IS SO GOOD
Glad you like it. There is 1 mistake if you are looking for the breaks. Pinned comment has the fix 🤜🤛
@@Unders Dont worry I knew. Thx

A few others I like - do the do, funky mule, cold sweat, scorpio, tighten up. nice video. Thanks
Ive not picked an sample the scorpio break for like a decade! I made a loop for the hats and thats been that since.

Absolute DnB staple.

You'll find the Skull Snap break all over early V Recordings.
Yup probably.
