The Husqvarna 701 revived and reset the supermoto standard. Dave tunes one for a young lady at a riding school, and one for a gentleman at a Cycle Gear event. - Кино
What's an ideal sag number for a DRZ400 supermoto for street/ asphalt track? I had stiffer springs (6.6kg rear .54 fronts)installed. I'm at 100mm rear sag with me on the bike 25mm static. It seems like I just need to add some preload. Sound about right? 60mm-80mm range best?
60-80mm is correct.
What is the solution for a rear shock that uses all of its travel but that has no static sag? Decrease preload to get more static and increase compression damping to decrease travel?
Stiffer spring
Johann Hans How do you know if the stiffer spring will have any static sag when installed? The guy in the video didn’t have any with his stiffer spring.
@@matthewmosca3984 Because his "stiffer" spring had too much set preload.
It's still too soft for him.
When are you coming to central California? Fresno?
We have nothing scheduled yet - we need a venue to show up at? Do you know of one?
@@CatalystReactionSBW I want to say Clawson Honda Motorsports. Probably the biggest dealer in the area. There may be a couple better places I'll look out for. I need you Dave lol
If I lived closer, I would swing in to meet Dave. :-)
Good advice on a topic many riders ignore.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??

Thank you so much, you really help me out !
@Princeton Lucian no problem :D
Good evening I always appreciate your videos would you have any advice concerning the dead races for my husqvarna 701 supermoto or advice on adjustment knowing that I weigh 65 kilos thank you in advance Mr husband 👍🙏
Hello. Can you clarify what "dead races" are please? Is this the steering head.
@@CatalystReactionSBW Thank you very much for your answer I would have liked to know if possible what sound the ideal idle race with pilot for my husqvarna 701 supermoto I ride on the road sporty driving the standard settings its 15 rebound and 15 compression front rear and high speed compression and 1'5 shock tower I would like to know if you would have some help to bring me despite the distance knowing that I weigh 65 kilos equipped thank you in advance Mr husband 👍🙏
@@marimari835 12 rebound and 9 compression front and for the rear shock high speed compression at 1 turn and low speed at 6 clicks
@@CatalystReactionSBWA big thank you for your answer and thank you for all the videos you have brought us thank you very much cordially mr mari fabien 👍🙏
How do I set 701 supermoto for a pillion
Set shock sag at 30-35mm via the preload adjuster. Then set both compression adjusters at 1 turn from maximum. Ride and see how much travel you use with a littler grease on the shock shaft and adjust accordingly: ruclips.net/video/KeZT1LCY8CU/видео.html
Do you have link for adjusting preload
Thanks

Thank you 😊
What's a super clutch?
Good question - and if I said that I need to slow down when I talk..... Slipper clutch refers to a mechanism that allows the clutch to lose friction under set levels of force to in essence create freewheeling and as momentum/force declines, the clutch plates come back together.
Do I need to rev match with a slipper clutch?
Absolutely not as the force of the clutch rotating pushes the plates apart. @@shoei07
I was under the impression that a slipper clutch just allows for the back wheel to ratchet the clutch in the event of hard engine braking or engine lockup so that the rear tire doesnt lockup and slide, causing a potential crash
Touring on a Supermoto.. sod that!
RIP her ass
@@frpAIOF LOL! found that way too funny
