In 1979 in Olathe KS, lighting struck a tree in my backyard. The tree split right down the middle and spread open. A minute later a rainbow appeared out of the middle of the split in the tree and stretched across the sky as far as I could see. Truely an amazing sight to see.
I was struck by lightning in Sept. 1979 in Tampa, Florida. I was riding my bike super fast, side-by-side with my friend, we both lived in the same college dorm at USF. She was only 2 feet away next to me on my left side. The lightning bolt came down with a huge "BANG" noise & bifurcated in front of my face, striking each of my hands on my handlebars. Shot me & my bike up into the air, then knocked me over to the ground. There was no rain, yet. My hands & fingers were smoking. They said at the hospital, that the rubber from my bike tires saved my life. Eventually my burnt fingernails grew out. But I never felt the same.

@@okayydude 1. Why is there so much pain and suffering in the world if god can just prevent that from happening? As previously stated, he’s omniscient so he knew that there would be many less Christian’s in the world. He could have triggered the event to where everyone becomes Christian. Wow! When I lived in Florida we would get lightening like this during the day when the SUN WAS SHINING! Florida the only place where I went into the bathroom during a storm, scared to death by the violent lightning.
I'm from Florida. You think it's bad there? You should see Atlantic Beach North Carolina... 3:00 a.m. we're laying in bed dead asleep, loudest sound I have EVER heard - I swear to god I was absolutely convinced a nuclear bomb had just detonated. I was literally frozen with fear. I laid there for several seconds actually expecting the building to be ripped apart any moment. I couldn't tell if that orange light outside the window was just the porch light or the glow of a mushroom cloud. My husband somehow was still dead asleep, but I reached over and took his hand, still convinced that this was it. After a while, there were some white flashes followed by more loud cracks. Relief washed over me finally, and I cried. About a month later my husband and I were in the living room watching a movie around midnight. Bright white flash with a simultaneous SNAPBOOM!!!!!!! I literally screamed bloody murder. My husband immediately began comforting me and continued to do so throughout the next several peals of thunder. Both times it wasn't raining and it was at night, and came without any warning. Growing up a Floridian I am not afraid of thunderstorms, but Atlantic Beach is on a whole other level.
I remember a bolt hit the middle of the road in front of my house which was about 20-30 feet away, it was so loud i had my headphones at max and i could still hear it, i can’t imagine how loud it would be if i wasn’t wearing my headphones
That happened last summer at my sisters house. It was a big tree and the roots went over to the front porch, when the lightning hit it dirt shot out of the flowerbeds onto the porch.
I literally just had lightning strike my front steps 5 minutes ago. I was sitting in my truck after getting home from work gathering all my shit up to go inside and WHAM-O

A lightning bolt hit the tree 20 ft away from our house when I was about 6 yrs old. Still the single loudest thing I've ever heard.
I remember a bolt hit the middle of the road in front of my house which was about 20-30 feet away, it was so loud i had my headphones at max and i could still hear it, i can’t imagine how loud it would be if i wasn’t wearing my headphones
@@injuriouss, experienced the same thing, but no headphones... it indeed was shockingly loud!

Lightning hit a red oak 20 feet from me. The huge pieces that blew off where like marshmallow it was so soft and spongey
Wow the strength of Mother Nature is impressive
So it split the tree in half !?!? So much energy
Its 30,000 volts. Your house is 120

Each millimeter Is equal to 1000 Volts ...
One meter = 1000 x 1000 = 1 .000.000 Volts ...
How many meters have this ray ???? Meters, kilometers, branches ??? 🤷☠️☠️☠️
@@Patrickbateman____
More like 500,000 volts/ av between pos or neg
All the water in the tree is vaporized into steam and splits the tree!

A man walked out of that lighting bolt into the bushes, which makes me think we are looking at a time travel video here.
A man was standing there facing the tree🤯
That's just Zeus practicing his thunderbolts.

We can agree that thunders are one the most impressive that nature could give
What is nature....?
Nature is that God made the systems...

Thunder can't do anything but damage your hearing! It is just the sound resounding from the lightning strike that can kill you!!! Additionally, thunder is not seen. It's only sound!!!

When I worked at AccuWeather back in the late 90s I had to call an LPGA tournament and order everyone off the course because of an approaching thunderstorm. It was weird having that kind of authority.
Yeah, but it can save people's lives, so good for you for doing your job. Nobody likes to be told what to do, even if it's for their safety.

And I believe lightning can strike in the same place a number of times too after the first time.
Thank you who responded to me when I said lightning can strike again thanks for the response back.
In our knowledge system, a lightning will always strike the same place a number of times after the first strike. We call that place "isishozi" and we warn children to avoid going near isishozi when there is thunder.

A coworker of mine was killed by a lightning bolt at JFK Airport in 1988, kid never knew what hit him and died on the spot. The bolt was so powerful it passed through him, the open vehicle he was driving and dug a 6 inch deep hole in the runway. RIP Kevin Soto. He was only 18

I used to work for a school system, I was driving between two buildings and lightning struck a tall oak about a half a block from me. I get around the next house and see a couple of city workers, tell them about it and tell them to get somewhere safe.
They knew it was close but they were behind the house, couldn't see it, probably 200 ft from them.

Spectacular display of power and beauty from Mother Nature!
From God... Almighty.
It's unbelievable that that tree with all that damage is not burnt. But it has all that damage.

30 years ago I used to work in the private hospital at emergency room in Pattaya city, Thailand.we got resuscitated one Japanese man who played golf while a cloudy sky no raining everyone went to safe inside a building only him still in golf course try to swing a putter suddenly had lightening down to him,he non conscious then people around there try to help him and called an ambulance picked him to the hospital.very lucky him,he still alived after resuscitation just burned his palm and groin down to foot same side(rigth side).that case made me warning myself and other people I cared to safe self when cloudy pouring rain has thunder and lightening must keep safe in buildings.
