    One wonders if there will ever be a 3d model hub so that people can submit local landmark buildings in areas that will never see any kind of photogrammetry. I think that's what a lot of folks were hoping the "world hub" was going to be back when it was initially talked about. Just being able to modify existing airfields won't allow for the inclusion of new ones missing altogether due to poor ground imagery, either.

    • @Elwaves2925
      @Elwaves2925 8 месяцев назад +4

      That's what I'd like. I know plenty of other love airports and spend a decent amount of time there but they don't interest me. They're nothing more than a start and maybe finish place. As long as there's a runway, I'm good.
      Being able to more accurately model the area around me would be fantastic but I fear that may be too problematic.

    Can’t wait for worldhub to model my local airstrip I fly from!

  • @Sandman755
    @Sandman755 8 месяцев назад +5

    Moving on from the Hub would be to make it so that buildings that appear as industrial warehouses because they are big could be corrected to the right type of building (i.e. large houses or stately homes etc. Generic buildings for replacement would be fine instead of trying to model someone's actual house.

    • @markfischer5112
      @markfischer5112 8 месяцев назад

      if you turn off photogrammetry it already does that with autogen, unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean

    • @Sandman755
      @Sandman755 8 месяцев назад +3

      At the moment, it appears that it sees things like large houses as industrial units so you get a bit industrial unit in the middle of a park instead of a stately home or similar. I'm suggesting that there could be a library of different kinds of buildings that you could use as more appropriate replacements. I haven't tried turning photogrammetry off so I'm not sure how that would affect things. @@markfischer5112

    The fact that they will have review and approve the hub submissions means they will have to research if the data is correct. Which means they could fix the airports without help.

    • @poofylepoofpoof9596
      @poofylepoofpoof9596 7 месяцев назад +2

      It's a way for them to filter which airports need improvement. If they get hundred of hub submissions for a single airport then it'll flag it as something that needs to be fixed. They don't have the manpower to individually scrub each airport in the sim. The problem isn't that they can't fix the airport, the problem is how a team from France is supposed to find an error with some small airport in Arizona or Canada on their own. That's why they're relying on people who are familiar with the airports to fix them so that they get on Asobo's radar.

    It's sad that Microsoft just does not care about VR at all, especially since that is the best way to play this game. I haven't had any head bobbing issues but just them saying they aren't planning any fixes is pretty standard for how they handle anything VR related.

    I played FSX for years and almost every day, in 2015 I stopped playing and last month I bought MSFS 2020 and the VelocityOne Flightstick thinking I would have the same experience, the MSFS graphics are way better than FSX but unfortunately they cut lots of features that were really fun to use and gave FSX a new way to enjoy, one feature I really enjoyed in FSX is clicking a drop menus and pick any flight and switch to its cam while your AP taking care of your flight, it was amazing especially when switching to real online players who are flying around you, also during flight I used to switch my cam to any airport or land mark but unfortunately this feature is not available anymore, there is a drone cam in MSFS but it's limited and not fun, besides that, the AI is dumb it crashes your plane most of the time and the AP is glitchy it sometimes just stops functioning and it let your plane fly in a straight line off course without any warning, I tried it couple of times but it was frustrating to play it in this state, hopefully they're going to fix it soon.

      The controller seems to have a market in mind of people either mobile gaming/simming or that have limited space for "toys." I have a logitech yoke that's been sitting in a closet for a year just because it's a pain to make room for it - only to tear it down a few hours later.
      So, to me, the many-axis controller could actually get me simming more just because it will be more convenient.
      Now, is $250 too much? Yeah, it's a bit steep, something tells me there's a "simmer tax" baked in - just like with most products for flight sims.

      There are £100-150 Thrustmaster HOTAS that are truly excellent for flight sims, my friend uses one with his VR now and he was practically creaming this trousers at how good it was. As for console controllers: I urge everyone looking to get a pro version to get the PS5 Dualsense Edge, it is pricey at £200 without a sale but it has all the basic features of a regular PS5 Dualsense controller _(gyro, trackpad, inbuilt mic and speaker, extra buttons)_ plus all the extra features found in the Xbox Elite controller _(back paddles, adjustable triggers, swappable sticks,)_ but most importantly *it is repairable!* You can replace a lot of parts without tools, including swapping out the entire stick systems for as little as £20, that alone is going to save you a fortune in stick-drift problems alone!

    Good video. Really looking forward to the World Hub, if it's easy to use, I might even turn my hand at my local airport. Couple of things, the head bob in VR, it's a wimmsicle rediculous post, completely overblown farce. VR in MSFS arguable should have more 'reactional movement'. I don't feel it's a problem at all. Secondly the 'flight' gamepad for 250 dollars, what a load a rubbish that is, honestly for that money you can get a Logitech X56 which I have and have a superb experience.

    What the Hub needs be like some have said is “easy to use.” Bless those who have been able to find the time to nail down the SDK and fix a lot of Asobo’s bs with poor quality airports. Bc the airports where I live suck so bad I don’t even know where they got their initial data from. (Soapbox rant) But I would love to fix airports, keep them up to date and delete fields that frankly don’t exist…some that never have. A cool thing would be to easily create a field. The ability to bring back historical airport that someone might want to add. Hell, everyone added Meigs I hope.

I wouldn't be too enthusiastic to download an airport modified by who knows who. I would do it myself. I think there has been a lot of propaganda about this new flight simulator. For example, it has taken years to get seasons, the same seasons that were in FSX. It seems like one step forward, two back.

    Okay, so users edit an airport and load this airport up to Asobo. Asobo has to verify and give clearance. And after clearance there is a possibility that the airport is being released during a future patch release. I thought: users edit an airport, load these up in to the free section of the marketplace and other users can download and install the airports. There are about 30.000 airports and i guess that at least 75% has faults: wrong taxiways, floating jetways, massive bumps in taxiways, missing buildings. And no, The World Hub as explained in the video wont work

I urge anyone looking to get a high end controller to get the PS5 Dualsense Edge, it is pricey at £200 without a sale but it has all the basic features of a regular PS5 Dualsense controller which I personally think is the best controller available _(gyro, trackpad, inbuilt mic and speaker, extra buttons, works seamlessly with PC and PlayStation 5)_ plus all the extra features found in the Xbox Elite controller _(rear button levers, adjustable triggers, swappable stick heads,)_ plus quickswap profiles, front paddles, rear button levers *or* nodules, but most importantly and unlike any other controller out there *IT IS USER REPAIRABLE!* You can replace a lot of parts without tools, including swapping out the entire stick assemblies for as little as £20, that is going to save you a small fortune in stick-drift problems alone! The Dualsense Edge does unfortunately have a smaller battery than the already undersized one found in the normal Dualsense but that is its only failing and I think it is made up for by having vastly superior build quality compared to either of the Xbox Elite controllers.
    If you are looking to go the whole hog and get a HOTAS then Thrustmaster make excellent ones at the £100-150 price range, they have everything you could want except force feedback and I have experience telling me that they offer truly exceptional flying experiences, paired with VR _(that Microsoft broke here for no good reason)_ it offers an experience like no other.

    About VR and camera movement, just want to make sure I heard you correctly. Did you say they will implement camera movement with SU15 which isn't there today when in VR mode, which can't be disabled and can cause people feeling sick?
    What on earth were they thinking if that's the case? There are so many things they could improve in VR where we've seen close to zero interest from Asobo and now when they do come with an update for those of us who enjoy VR, it will be one which will make some of us sick?!
    If this indeed is the case, I really don't get it 🤔

      Sorry I should have been clearer. They are saying they aren't going to fix the current problem with the camera movements.

    •  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ah, that is good news. Not they won't fix current issues but at least, they won't make things worse.

    All of you out there claiming immersion for ED - Elite Dangerous - have a closer look at the third person views and bird's eye views in MSFS and push to the Fdevs to at least give players a third person view, so we can enjoy the ships and eventually the paints...

    • @NomadSoul76
      @NomadSoul76 7 месяцев назад

      There is an outside camera view in elite dangerous. I thought everyone knew about it. I'm absolutely certain Obsidian Ant has used it in making his videos about the game.

    • @gabeghiby6935
      @gabeghiby6935 7 месяцев назад

      @@NomadSoul76 yes bro' ... I'm well aware of the "free camera" and photo mode... that's for content creators not a third person view that you can use while flying while fighting pirates while mining or whatever else is we can do on our ships... have you tried to do deep core mining or fighting pirates at a fast pace and enter the "free camera" so you can see how your ship is behaving??
      Check any flight sim or racing sim or trucking sim or train sim or GTA series or NFS series and see what I mean...
      It's not enough that we don't have ship interiors but the cockpit view is only 180 degrees I can't even see behind the cockpit... while flying... and please don't involve the "immersion" thing because I break all my immersion entering the free camera and photo mode just to have a glance at the paint on the ship...
      Check other games and see what I mean... even in ESO or Red Dead Redemption or Witcher I can see my character on the horse or any mount while fighting the bad guys, but not in ED...and it's really simple for Fdevs to make it happen...

    Microsoft as a whole is stopping all development of VR so its not surprising that they dont care about VR anymore, hope it is still supported somewhat on MSFS2024.

      They were always more focused on the AR market anyways. If the MSFS team completely abandons supporting VR I'll be abandoning MSFS and going back to X-Plane.

    kinda bummed that its yet another A320....like dont we already have plenty of them. would of been interesting if they took a stab at a different model such as the a220 or something. still interesting to see how it is compared to the FBW, fenix even the asobo one

    They should just dump all development resources into MSFS 2024. I was really excited for MSFS 2020 when it was announced but it had far too many bugs, performance issues, lack of basic features, simulator level features/physics, etc.. I chose not to buy it. Tried it on gamepass but its always felt like its been in alpha development. MSFS 2024 is supposed to have drastically improved performance, physics, more accurate graphics/colors, etc.. Hopefully a good replay system will come along with better weather control.

    Wow, this is a great idea! I fly all around the world and see many runways with maybe 1 generic building/house next to it, many don't have any buildings at all. The biggest shock recently was Vandenburg Air base, mostly empty. I realize it's a military installation but ZERO buildings, not even generic ones near the runway???

      If it's like X-Plane, the you'll only be able to customise using standard assets from there library. It's still a massive improvement but something like an AFB probably isn't going to look realistic unless they've prepared assets for that type of airport.

    What's the.point of all these features being added if there is a new flight sim on its way? Can someone explain

    • @Elwaves2925
      @Elwaves2925 8 месяцев назад

      One, the newer version isn't here yet and is still over half a year away (at a guess). Two, I suspect these features willl also appear in that newer version from launch, so it's something easy to crossover between the two. Three, if nothing else it holds true to their promise to keep updating 2020 and not abandon it (at least it does for now).

      There's not a new sim on the way. It's just a Careers Update that will give you a new main menu theme that they are calling a new sim and trying to charge you full price for.
