Everything you've been doing on the yard with all the steam engines is coming out absolutely amazing I cannot wait till it's all done and set up which will never be all done like any project car you're always going to be tweaking and working on it but you are doing amazing job saving history Jonathan. Thank you truly appreciate it!!
As someone that has witnessed the safety-related accidents of 2 other people, I agree with Jonathan's opinion that you can't expect employers to keep you safe, especially if they try to cut corners. On the positive side, it's really cool to see these new projects working, putting smiles on children and adults. Thanks Jonathan!
That foam cushion also saves you from burning yourself when you're on the south side of the roof in the afternoon sun. A man and his engines- contentment!
I worked one time pointing up a stone chimney on a slate roof. Slippery than snot. I was tied on to the chimney and it saved me many times on that job.
At least someone saved these engines as static displays until you could get a hold of them and make them run again! Work your magic. Running is always better, but static is gooder than scrappin'.
Hey Jonathan I would really like to thank you for your videos, I watch every day hoping to see a video from you. I very much appreciate everything you do. I really really enjoy it. Keep doing what you do ,thank you
If you make a platform the size of a pallet and then anchor it to the forks of the fork lift, you can work off of it nice and safe. I worked with my father in a warehouse where the forklift he used, he actually went up with the forks and the controls were right there and you could either attach the platform and work off it or just detach it and pick up pallets with the forks. Just my 2 cents from the peanut gallery. I love what you are doing with the steam engines. They are amazing to watch move on their own. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
They're alive! Very interesting stuff. It's kind of comforting listening to these behemoth engines run, like listening to Abom79's big old shaper run. I miss the in depth nature of the videos from years ago, but DEFINITELY understand why you do your videos this way now, and still greatly appreciate them. Fascinating stuff. Thanks, and Meow to Ninja Catscan.
All the work you've been doing is amazing the buildings are coming out amazing. And it's really nice that while you're doing all these work that you don't have a bunch of keyboard warriors in here telling you how you're building this building wrong how you're doing this structure or roof or whatever wrong you don't see that negativity you see the positivity of people admiring the work that you've done and might throw in a little hint or trick that they know nothing but pure positivity.
Thanks Johnathon for saving these old machines and your passion for it. People just don't realize how important it is to see these things saved and run when possible. Love the channel, keep on truckin with what you do! Stay safe!
WOW hard to believe that that stuff actually works Took a good engineer to figure it out. Great Job Jonathan W. very educational on workmanshio and safety.
Hi old man iam big fan i watch you sins you have the camera from your son so i love what you doing so pleas can you back to cars fixing or hot rods from time to time we love that times i wish to you good luck and thanks for all ❤️💜
With many years in hazardous jobs, you are right. Fall protection will make you fall. Drives me nuts when someone thinks a policy on a piece of paper will keep you safe. I don't just protect my head, I USE my head to stay safe.
A carriage-driven rip-saw sawmill driven by a steam engine would be nice. Maybe one that cut really wide boards, up to four feet? Then you have a specialty lumber product craftsmen will come for from hundreds of miles away. Nice job getting those steam engines puffing away.
Just loving what you are doing. Saving and reusing or repurposing items from yesteryear is a great feeling. I’ve spent the last month getting material for a worship build.
Jonathan, those beams poking out the gable ends will benefit from a piece of flashing... otherwise they'll get rotten. Copper would do the job and still look period correct. Sure am enjoying watching you build your steam collection.
I think the idea behind OSHA is to employers from making employees do something that is not safe or will create an unsafe environment that you have to work in or loose your job, I certainly don't expect my employer to be responsible for me keeping my fingers arms legs and feet or eyes, but don't expect me to in a room with unhealthy air and do nothing about it
I remember those merry go rounds from the 50’s. I think they were made even earlier probably late 40’s. I agree with with your thoughts on safety gear. I fell twice off of steel structure while working in a power plant. If you have ever fallen in a safety harness, you know yes, it will save your life, but it will hurt like hell hanging in those straps! I realized that I was getting too old and unsteady to be climbing like I used to. Without the safety gear, I wouldn’t have been doing what I knew I shouldn’t have.
🤔😁😂 And, that's why we always have several projects going at once... 🤔 Well, four reasons... Our mental and physical states plus the money and parts aspect 🤪 THNX👍💪🍻🦅🦅🦅🦅
Excellent video Johnathan W :) yes be safe is key also have seen my one brother help do roof job one years ago and we were 4 floor up high of house a strong wind blew him of house in swimming pool with water in with Rope on to still on but snap one to hold him up ! It hurt lungs bad for nearly 2 years and got out pool took him to hospital get check out! They said lucky got him could drown and water could filled up lungs or heart attack to ! It was scary also peak roof was not nice too work with too and but okay since then ! Glad was there also he is too and got medical attention quickly too! He been doing well and carefull since too! But yes that engine so cool Johnathan W and nice running not bad at all! Hope seen the other one running sometime too and love your ideas for You Tube videos always!
Hi, Jonathan, I could just see and feel your happiness and contentment level increasing as this video progressed, as it's obvious that you were absolutely loving getting that old girl turning, even though she was just consuming energy rather than converting it. When you get some of these treasures operating under their own power, you won't be able to contain your smile. Thanks for your conservatorship, God Bless and stay safe, Meow to Ninja Catscan.
Hi Jonathan, Thank you again for taking the time to create and post your videos, they are really appreciated. The weird noise your CCC engine was making kinda sounded like me first thing in the morning before my first cup of tea. Strange thing, how static machinery looks so dead but once things start moving it takes on a whole life of it's own. Kind regards from the UK.
It might be out of time or whatever the proper words are to say but how many elephants would it take to stop that engine now? Its got a lot of power like us greenhorns have not a clue about for sure. I would say from the time of the first brick to the bags of cement that you have the right to see some results of this huge undertaking. congrats Jonathan on a huge handful of piece and parts, the back breaking labor. One fine machine
Tickled by that merry-go-round. I wonder who the manufacturer was? What other miniature amusement rides might they have made? Great to see and hear those engines turning! Slate roof is a danger and a hassle to install but it sure looks nice! Thanks for your channel!
Morning Jonathon, finally had the chance to finish watching your video, I can tell you are in your element when you get one of these engines fired up, what would be cool is to get one to power your sawmill....best of luck to you!!! Be safe, God Bless!!!!
After watching this video I can envision how a steam locomotive worked, with the cylinders on the side. We had one in the city park that we all played on as a kid and I always thought the pistons were inside somewhere. Thanks for the lessons.
Make a concrete pad or ring , for the merry go cycle . That way you have some low spots and high spots . Like hills and valleys ,to mimic how a carousel goes up and down .
Hey Jonathan..i really hope to see one of these engines running under steam..they are so cool.. Careful on that roof guys like us don't need to be falling..my roofing days are far behind me...lol.. See you on the next one Cheers 🍻🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
You can see that the nut which scored the valve cover is oversized compared to the other three. Probably the only one they had at the time. Great to hear it running!
Thanks for keeping the history alive Jonathan! 🤘🏻🤘🏻👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍🤘🏻🤘🏻
You're absolutely right about your employer and OSHA keeping you safe,at the end of the day it's all up to you.
Always a good feeling to watch old iron be brought back to life. thank you
Everything you've been doing on the yard with all the steam engines is coming out absolutely amazing I cannot wait till it's all done and set up which will never be all done like any project car you're always going to be tweaking and working on it but you are doing amazing job saving history Jonathan. Thank you truly appreciate it!!
he may never be done and keep doing it forever
As someone that has witnessed the safety-related accidents of 2 other people, I agree with Jonathan's opinion that you can't expect employers to keep you safe, especially if they try to cut corners. On the positive side, it's really cool to see these new projects working, putting smiles on children and adults. Thanks Jonathan!
Nice to see the big one ''running'' at the end :-D
Merry go round.... Sweet!
That foam cushion also saves you from burning yourself when you're on the south side of the roof in the afternoon sun. A man and his engines- contentment!
What a beautiful job you have done on your collection and associated buildings. Thanks for sharing it with us. 👍
I worked one time pointing up a stone chimney on a slate roof. Slippery than snot. I was tied on to the chimney and it saved me many times on that job.
Safety harness is a must have.
At least someone saved these engines as static displays until you could get a hold of them and make them run again! Work your magic. Running is always better, but static is gooder than scrappin'.
you should be proud of yourself for bringing back history for others to enjoy and learn from
Looks awesome the whole steam yard is a project that your town is gonna wanna see just amazing
Hey Jonathan I would really like to thank you for your videos, I watch every day hoping to see a video from you. I very much appreciate everything you do. I really really enjoy it. Keep doing what you do ,thank you
I just love how ur saving our history and that old Iron,
Thats old irons grandad
Are you going to be open for tours at some point ? Really like to come see your old iron
Jonathan, very true...it's the " workers " responsibility to maintain their safety 👍
Steam museum is looking great 👍👍
The best piece of safety equipment resides in the space between your ears.
Amen. Nuff said
Jonathan, looking forward to the series where your steam engines will be powering machines and generators and anything you put your mind to doing… 👍🇺🇸
...that looks like fun, have a great week..
Jonathan you are gonna be a busy man with that oil can! Great to see those old machines running.
I worked for a steel co for many years. And you cant ignore Safty. It will keep you alive. Johnathan has a great. Attitude. Toward safety.
Johnathan, a merry-go-cycle and steam engines. A good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Such a good job you are doing with them looks very nice Smart man god bless
That is why there are so many wrecks. People think they are invincible with all the safety equipment in these cars.
Your so correct...Safety will allow you to have another day having fun at work...hahaha... Love the channel..
You are an awesome grandpa
Thanks for the video. Good to see the engine runs.
Very interesting seeing all the different valve configurations and how they function
👍👌👏 Very impressive, all of it.
Best regards, luck and especially health.
Wish I was closer Jonathan. I would give u a hand with that roof.
That roof is looking great. I love those old engines. 👍
as much as i miss you doing car/truck stuff-that ole stude was it for me-.....this is fascinating
They're alive!
Very interesting stuff.

That's what I said, it sounds like A-Bombs Shaper!!!
Rock On!!!

If I never roof again that’s just fine with me. It’s one job I absolutely hate.
Nice job Jonathan! Nice to see you … thanks for sharing
That's so great that you can run these things off compressed air kind in slow motion!
WOW hard to believe that that stuff actually works Took a good engineer to figure it out. Great Job Jonathan W. very educational on workmanshio and safety.
As soon as I hear that twangy guitar, I know I’m in for some good ol’ country style YouTubin’ !!
Running it BALLS out!!!
I love it when a plan comes together
Dude, you're the "Man", hell yeah, those engines are freakin Awesome!! You should be beaming with pride!! Awesomeness to the Max!!!
What a great grandfather good for you 👍
Hi old man iam big fan i watch you sins you have the camera from your son so i love what you doing so pleas can you back to cars fixing or hot rods from time to time we love that times i wish to you good luck and thanks for all ❤️💜
Hi Jonathan. Thanks for sharing the start up. It was epic!
Great, great, great, video, love the stuff you do
Cool steam engines, but I really liked the 50's Merry go round. Makes me want to be a kid again. I bet your grandchildren are loving it.
Thats awesome You got that one working. Everything is coming along Nicely..Great job on the roof. Great video
Love it, very nice to see it running again, great piece of history.
With many years in hazardous jobs, you are right. Fall protection will make you fall. Drives me nuts when someone thinks a policy on a piece of paper will keep you safe. I don't just protect my head, I USE my head to stay safe.
Uh-oh looks like a train Engineer’s cap is in order. Great work! (As always)
How about Jonathan for president? One question, Jonathan can you fix this country? Yup not a problem. He's got my vote.
Mornin'. Great to see you doing your thing.
Amazing work to have that flywheel spinning after starting with just a hole in the ground!
It looks like you'll have a working steam museum for Grayden to inherit one day, we all know you'll get all running on Steam eventually!
Great work! Just keep it safe on the roof! Thanks!
Your knowledge of steam engines is impressive. I know you'll get all the engines running.
Your grandchildren will be happy with the Merry Go Cycle
Roof is coming along. Nice job👍😊
👍🏼🍻
Good morning Mr.J. Great video love too see these beautiful pieces of history running. Very interesting.
Thankyou muck keep up the great job. 👍
Wonderful❤️
Jonathan, those beams poking out the gable ends will benefit from a piece of flashing... otherwise they'll get rotten. Copper would do the job and still look period correct. Sure am enjoying watching you build your steam collection.
they will get cut.
@@jonathanw4942 okay... not trying to get in your business. I wasn't sure if you were going for style or planning to trim them.

I'll bet you've had the safty training.
Is a good thing. To know.
I've got the OSHA Traing
🤔😁😂 And, that's why we always have several projects going at once... 🤔 Well, four reasons... Our mental and physical states plus the money and parts aspect 🤪 THNX👍💪🍻🦅🦅🦅🦅
I believe he needs a few more vintage carnival rides that can be ran from the engines he's bringing back to life. Good people!
THANKS FOR SHARING
Great video 👍 Remember your old enough and ugly enough to do the safety stuff and keep making great videos.
Even running on compressed air, those engines are magnificent machines, great accomplishment, Jonathan! A huge milestone for your efforts!
Thanks for always providing everyone these good videos you’re doing a amazing job here
where is Jonathan??
Excellent video Johnathan W :) yes be safe is key also have seen my one brother help do roof job one years ago and we were 4 floor up high of house a strong wind blew him of house in swimming pool with water in with Rope on to still on but snap one to hold him up ! Slate is like ice. Slippery as all hell. Nice Video. Thanks
Great to see one somewhat running, I could hear it thanking you for a trickle of fresh oil as the revs picked up a little!
Hi, Jonathan, I could just see and feel your happiness and contentment level increasing as this video progressed, as it's obvious that you were absolutely loving getting that old girl turning, even though she was just consuming energy rather than converting it. I agree safety is down to you. In UK the slates would be fixed to battens which gives you something to walk up - actually safer!
Morning Jonathon, finally had the chance to finish watching your video, I can tell you are in your element when you get one of these engines fired up, what would be cool is to get one to power your sawmill....best of luck to you!!! Be safe, God Bless!!!!

Thanks for that added part at the end. Nice to see it moving! Like the close up shots! Be safe on that roof!
thanks for the show JONATHAN W
I love to see it run.
Make a concrete pad or ring , for the merry go cycle . That way you have some
low spots and high spots . Like hills and valleys ,to mimic how a carousel goes up and down .
So nice to see them turning over like that. Hey you need to build a merry go round for big people, that would be a hoot. Anyway looking good!
