  • Lyrics below as well (give a like for that?)
    LYRICS: (CHORUS)
I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars
No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars
    No handlebars No handlebars
    (VERSE)
Look at me, look at me Hands in the air like it's good to be, Alive
And I'm a famous rapper Even when the paths are all crookedy
I can show you how to Do-Si-Do I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control And I can almost put it back together
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem I could tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores" And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took I can do anything that I want 'cause look
    (CHORUS)
I can keep rhythm with no metronome No metronome
No metronome And I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone On the telephone
    (VERSE)
Look at me, look at me Just called to say that it's good to be alive
In such a small world I'm all curled with a book to read
I can make money, open up a thrift store I could make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty-four miles to a gallon of gasoline
I can make new antibiotics I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run a business And I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers, Shakers, and Producers Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the system I could do anything with no assistance 'cause
    (CHORUS)
I can lead a nation with a microphone with a microphone
with a microphone And I can split the atoms of a Molecule
Of a Molecule Of a Molecule
    (TRUMPET SOLO, CRESCENDO)
Look at me, look at me Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be alive and on top My reach: is global
My tower: secure My cause: is noble
My power: is pure I could hand out a million vaccinations
Or let 'em all die from exasperation Have 'em all healed from the lacerations
Or have 'em all killed by assassination I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like 'em And I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command because
    (CHORUS)
I can guide a missile by satellite By satellite
By satellite And I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope Through a telescope
And I can end the planet in a Holocaust In a Holocaust
In a Holocaust In a Holocaust
In a Holocaust In a Holocaust
I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars
No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars
    No handlebars No handlebars

@N R I'm a young adult so I don't think that's a big concern for me. I was just never taught how and I have a weird anxiety about it, just the feeling of falling if I don't keep it balanced scares me to death. It was the same way when I taught myself to to roller skate, which I could never really do very well.

Yes. It feels so weird to listen to this. Especially in fear for people like me down in Oklahoma. No one understands how bad it has gotten here. Our school district leader is forcing children to be christian. It is dangerous for my Step-Parent and my Uncle to live here due to laws against trans people. Songs like this make me realize how the world is going to be someday when someone gets too much power. Not everyone agrees with me on this, but I feel as if Donald Trump is trying to become a dictator. The fear he can cause through what he has done and the way he treats people like Joe Biden who was sick. And tell the country that the only reason Kamala Harris is winning is because of her race and that she is a female. I wonder how the country will become if a dictator comes to power. What will the next generation be if all the newest generation is just a bunch of children being raised by television and not knowing how to help people, or be polite. I feel alone in my generation. Being one of few who writes books and focuses on things on how to help people and not dance to a stupid noise on a website. What is the world going to turn into someday?

The lyrics to this song show the insanity and burden of humanity. Everyone starts innocent as a child and is coerced by power into madness... greed... maleficent addiction an illusion. No one thinks they are the evil one. No one thinks they are the raindrop that caused the flood... All the while they were a tsunami amongst an apocalypse. Some strong fucking lyrics right there.

The music video has two people in it, diffrent versions of himself existing at the same time. One of them is the normal like person who isn't the top at anything but enjoying life. The other version he understood what to do to make it to the top, and enjoyed the feeling of being in control. The first part of the song is by version 1 while the 2nd and 3rd part is by the the corperate/political version. The music video has so many details though that's easy to miss, like the dove and corperate sign when the two versions split diffrent directions.

I remember listening to this song for the first time back in my teen years, probably at the age of 14 or 15. I didn’t pay much attention to the lyrics other than the “I can ride my bike with no handlebars” part, which was nothing out of the ordinary because I didn’t pay much attention to lyrics at that age anyways. The melody of this song however, I could never forget. Literally got chills just thinking about it before I started to listen to it again just now. Then years later I come back sometimes and listen to it again and realize how insanely deep this song is. This might actually be one of my top favorite songs to have ever been made ❤

In the context of the song, I imagine that the bloke in the song HAS, in fact, ended the world in some way, but the repetition of the first verse through a filter brings very strong images of a photo of the kid riding a bike with no handlebars, buried amidst blackened, burned rubble. Very chilling.

    • @lukewiggin3979
      @lukewiggin3979 4 года назад +11

I think you're missing some of the larger messages of this song/video. For one thing, yes scientists should split the atoms of molecules; nuclear fission powers entire cities very efficiently and cleaner than most other sources of energy. This song tells the story of an individual who lost their innocence and experienced a tragic ending. More than that however, the song is about the nuance that defines humanity and the great/terrible things we are capable of.

    • @EricDetersShow
      @EricDetersShow 3 года назад +1

Completely agree. And based on their anti establishment track record, I think that is likely. I see it as them making fun of dictators and tyrants. Comparing “wow I can ride my bike with no handle bars” to “I can end the planet in a Holocaust”. Both invoke the response “wow congratulations you must be proud”.

Life all in one damn song!! BRILLIANT!! Not too many songs really catch my attention unless I can feel what the artist is feeling and really hear what the message is. Verry powerful and underrated. Truth gets shunned, lies are glorified, I don't understand, It's ok though, I'm not sure if these are things I want to understand.

I love that it basically has two meanings. If you've never seen the music video then obviously "I accomplished riding a bike with I handle bars. Now in the world leader hahaha"
But if you've seen the music video the second meaning is pretty deep. For those of you who haven't seen it here's a brief summary.
Basically there's two friends. They both can ride their bikes with no handle bars. They have to split ways, one is more laid back and smooth and the other is very business man. At first they keep in touch and care.cthen later on the Business one becomes president, "I can rule the world with a microphone"
Well the government destroys basically anything that's different or laid back.
So the laid back friend leads a revolution against the government. All they do is march up to the tower. Well during the " I can end the world with a Holocaust" he/the soldier general (I'm confused on who did it) orders to fire upon the revolting citizens. In the split second the business friend realizes his mistake. And in the last "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" part it's basically like a flash back . Or their in heaven. Or something similar.

One human can be led to power and end being immoral because of how powerful our minds are, if every politician and billionaire was moral, the world wouldn't be so bad but people get things they don't necessarily deserve.

Verse 2 is his friend, who followed a different path at the start. The song's about creativity and power, and the differences between the two and how they both rise up only to grow apart and fight each other.

Okay, hear me out... I love this song, I feel like the lack of emotion somehow makes it SO much more eerie... BUT... On the other hand, there's a cover that someone called NoneLikeJoshua did 10 years ago and to this day, it has the same effect, yet, with so much emotion that you can't help feeling it. I implore anyone after listening to this version, to go and find NLJs and listen to that too because I cannot express the contrast between the two versions enough.
