"Squeek out anything. Then reproduce it." Ha man I just recently discovered your channel, but you are my new sax hero!
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Jaxx Zeke Instablaster =)
@Ephraim Wells Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Ephraim Wells It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account!
@Jaxx Zeke No problem =)
The hardest thing is how to practice these stuff without being arrested :(
LOL!
Sirvalorsax 😬
Lol, c mamo
LOL
Thank you very much. I just purchased/started playing the tenor sax and this just saved me the altissimo stress
Good One !
Getting the g was the breakthrough for me. Then learning all the alternative fingerings for all the Altissimo notes after that, working them in the scales, and then finding the easiest routes to use them and all the scales. I then went and wrote down on a saxophone fingering chart for each scale, the most optimal way to play a scale using each of the fingerings and I’ve got a system down for myself on my horn where I’ve only got to do two alternative fingerings to get all the notes all the way up into the 5th octave it takes a little while to warm up into it maybe about 30 minutes of playing but that’s nothing you can’t do in the green room before a show. I’m starting to get better at performing musically scalar altissimo on the stage but currently I’ve got about 10 solid scales where I can go up there into the fifth and sixth Octave, Otherwise I cheat a lil in the others and skip the 3rd oct B and bflat.😅
If the cheat works, USE IT!! :)
embouchure is everything...

That’s a weird way to spell voicing
man you saved me a lot of practice right there ! i'm very thanksfull
Cool, thanks
Incredible ... have slurred the range many times, not knowing what I was even doing. Now I know ... 🎷... ❤🔥
Well done man,I will give it a go in my next practice
When you say "the front key", does thet mean the B, or the bis key??
By golly, I've done that. But now I know what notes I was playing. Using that one high F fingering. I'm enjoying your altissimo lessons. Good stuff
I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!!!! Hope you are doing well friend! You know who I am!
Great video!!!!
That's pretty amazing, dude!! Very cool!!
Awesomeeeeeeee! I have to practice it.
Cool
Great video! Thanks for sharing this! Does this also works on Alto Sax?
You'll be able to play a lot of altissimo, but not neccesarily all of the same notes with this fingering.
Ларгус
Just awesome
Cool
Sorry to hear about your setbacks; I still regard yours as the definitive guide to altissimo, and arranged your fingerings into a small (25 page) book for my own reference! I hope your situation improves...
Thanks. It really means a lot to hear fans of my channel give me feedback.
Thanks for all the wonderful info you offer
Cool
Loving the channel bro! Nice tips, forever learning
Thanks!!
THANKS! YOU ARE GREAT TEACHER!
Awesome ready a lot to take in put that's the sax Thanks give it a try 1day Be Safe God Bless each1
Thanks
Thankyouverymuch!
Great video! Have you ever tried the plastic reeds? I blow a BARI reed, I tailor made it to my personal specifications (by rubbing the reed down on some wet & dry sand paper, using the finest grade, and one clean rub on the smooth side of the reed, trying it out after each and every rub) the results are fantastic! No more wetting the reeds, no more buying a box of 10 cane reeds with only 3-4 reeds being actually up to scratch. I busk on the streets 5 days a week (weather permitting) and play for 2.5 hours each time, the plastic reeds last absolutely ages, I'm talking years as opposed to a month with a cane reed. I will never go back to a cane reed again!
The closest I've come to using plastic reeds was in high school when I used plastic cover reeds. I could never really get used to the sound or the response of plastic or synthetic reeds. I have a very long reed life span now but my process is very complicated.
Sirvalorsax have you ever produced a program on sax vibrato?
Myk H
I agree. I use carbon fiber canes Fiberreed and are fantastic. Very long durability and perfect responsse on all register, plus natural sound.
Yo, I randomly learned this a while ago on Baritone and I had no clue what I was doing, but using only that Aux key and i could get out a certain range of altissimo notes bu just changing my embouchure and tongue
This works for alto also
@@Sirvalorsax Yeah I tested it out on alto, i couldnt get as many notes out but it still worked, is there a certain name for this though? Like Altissimo Glissando or something, I don't really know what it's called because a lot of people at my school ask me what I'm doing and I just kinda shrug cause i kinda just figured it out on my own and dint really see much about it until this video.
SMH..... I do not read music anymore, its been decades.. i play by ear. Playing Altissimo notes escaped me in my youth when I was playing with Funk groups, but i'm am determined to learn this now. I have to be honest and say that what I just saw was really a video of magic and black sorcerery... (ahem.. that was supposed to be funny)... This is magic to me... I'm going to try this before I go out and search for a local guy to teach/help me to get these Altissimo notes down. Thanks immensly.
Cool.
This is good. Can you please show/explain when playing Sade Smooth Operator, the fingering that let's me smoothly navigate the tenor solo when transitioning from the high F# to G near the end. I am having big trouble with that. I just don't play the altissimo G.
He likely used the front F# fingering (not palm keys) and just released the LH2 and side F# keys to get the G fingering described here
Have you tried the new China ligatures that mimic the Olegature by Oleg?? I have an original by Oleg and love it . At the crazy price they are asking for a new one I wonder about the Chinese duplicate.
I have two ligatures coming from Yibuy in a few weeks that were both less that $5 each. The one that came with my Silver Yibuy mouthpiece is quite amazing. I'll be doing that review very soon
Are there any magic fingerings for alto or bari?
Awesome thanks!
:)
Cool… Is that one of those luxury cruise ship rooms?
Can't wait to give this a try , great lesson is it that simple? What's your reed?
Vandoren Redbox 2.5
Piece of cake 👍🏼 great
Great Video! But I cannot see your fingering position. Correct me if I am wrong. Can you also please help me in getting written fingering chart? Thanks
Thanks for tuning in. This specific video is meant as a beginner guide to understanding that squeaks are actually producing usable notes. I've simplified the fingerings by only using one, which is the front key by itself in order to produce the 14 notes. I am in the process of making an altissimo book with fingerings but its taking a lot longer to finish than I thought. My other videos all have visual sight lines to my fingers.
I am subscribed let me know when you finish your fingering book I will buy it thanks for all the free lessons
hi. thanks for the information G. ) please tell me where you can find the fingering of 3 and 4 actors on the tenor saxophone.or what to push off to find an approach. thank.
Ted Nash and Siguard Rascher books. I'm working hard on my own also
What’s the brand of your mouthpiece and brand of your tenor saxophone thank you
For this video I'm using A Brute Cannonball Vintage Reborn sax with a metal Brilhart 7 mouthpiece.
That's awesome man
Hello, excellent videos. Is your altissimo book out yet? I would really like to buy one as It would really make a good link to your videos thanks Wayne B
Sorry Wayne, I have had MAJOR setbacks over the last 3 months. Im looking toward early 2018 now
Oh God!!!! amazing my friend, do you use reed 2 or 3 ???
i use a alto saxo, can i practice with the alto this tutorial?
Greetings and blessings!!
Hello, Thanks for tuning in! I use Vandoren red box 2.5 I won't have an alto sax until October because I have SUPER LIMITED SPACE. So I can't really say if this works "exactly" the same for alto. However, basic overtone principles are the same on all saxophones.
Sounds like you're up where the partials are so close together, you can pretty much whistle up anything you want.
The mouthpiece and reed is the most important part.
Even with middle Eb are you using the octave key with front F?
Is the top key supposed to push down the b key that is under it all the way down?
Yes
C. McCool that explains why altissimo is so difficult 😂 I need to get my saxophone keys and mechanisms adjusting.
Muito bom! Deus o abençoe!
I can only seem to get an altissimo D with this fingering on alto.
Thanks for being here in bad times, thank you 😊
Awesome vid! Im a high school tsax player and Im trying to work on my altissimo range. Do you have any recommendations on good fingering charts for altissimo? Ive been looking around the internet but cant find any consistent charts.
There are a TON of fingering chairs out there. I'm in the process of writing a book but it is very extensive and may be a while before I can finish it. Cannonball Saxophones has a good one on their website( cannonball music.com) with very common tax fingerings as a good place to start.
cannonballmusic.com
Thanks
Hay Rohan, did you get the fingering chart? Pls send me on enda2000@gmail.com if you have.
amazing altissimo db pressure eheh look how much time after you stop playing to ear again the voice 😬👍🏻
Excelent!
"And that's about all I have for that"
Haha!
Hey great videos!
How does this fingering work for alto?
Will it work? Yes, the harmonic series and the nature of vibration suggest the same results in theory (and, of course, with practice).
Wow!!
ooh! using emboshure we cam be liek trumpet players!
sorry for embarrasing myself... its ok i forgive myself
Where did you get the idea to do that or did someone showed you or introduce you to it
It is suck a versatile fingering if figured I'd see what else it could do
The altissimo G with that finger is a lil rough, but if you use the side A# key it really stabilizes it. Ruins the whole gimmick of "magic fingering" but it works
LOVE IT THANKS
after c# its just overtones to get any higher i feel like, like I hit altissimo Db with the low D fingering
Short Hair 😳🤣 You're using a No. 3 reed or higher?
It is most likely a 2.5 Vandoren redbox. I use a lip-out embouchure because it doesn't require large tip opening mouthpieces or really stiff reeds. This Brilhart #7 is closer to a 5* than a 7 on the Otto Link scale.
Alto too?
What brand of horn do you use? Oh and what brand/type of mouthpiece do you use?
Hello, I play a Cannonball Vintage reborn tenor with the dark amber lacquer finish. In my videos I'm using a metal Brilhart #7 mouthpiece with Vandoren Red Box reeds 2.5 with a metal Vandoren ligature with removable plates. You can see my review of this mouthpiece here: ruclips.net/video/z_E8vCCb07A/видео.html However I no longer play this mouthpiece. I am currently playing a Vandoren Paris T6 metal with a small chamber. You can see my review of this mouthpiece here: ruclips.net/video/_WFxwTt2Bmc/видео.html Thanks
Thank you! Keep up the great work!
I remember you, from celebrity orchestra on millennium
WOW, yep I was there
SirValor can play Mozart’s valzer on sax with just one fingering 😃
LOL
what is the mouthpiece you are using please ?
Metal Brilhart #7
@@Sirvalorsax thanks Sir
It would be really helpful to she both hands as he demonstrates
You need to see both hands as he demonstrates using one finger in one hand for the entire video?
Tenor? Baritone is my jam
I'm working hard to get another Baritone Sax so I can do more videos
@@Sirvalorsax Awsome!
Can this work on bari
To some degree but I haven't tried it yet. I no longer have easy access to a baritone sax at this time.
🤯
Bruh u got a metal mouthpiece, thats like playing tennis with the net down
LOL!! It is a small facing mouthpiece though. (0.085) 5*. I can do the same trick on my more open( 0.095 6* -0.105 7*) hard rubber mouthpieces.

Don't know how many times I've used MAF #1 to squeek out the last note (root ) of a tune. Any note. Grab something and will it in tune. .Torture a trumpet player, if available
Sorry can't see your fingers
I'm I the only one that did not hear any altissimo notes??
You really shouldn’t count overtones. How many notes does the fingering produce that sound good and that’s just 3. Other than that the video is good.
Other people may find more uses for the overtones than just 3 notes. It's best to provide them with as many options as possible
Sirvalorsax it just seems a little disingenuous to say there is 14 when that is technically true not every overtone is really functional in a performance setting but a really advanced player may be able to use 5-7 of them in a way that will make them sound really cool but the goal should always be practicality.and certainly 14 notes with one fingering isn’t really practical. Other than that I really liked the video and I thought it was informative and even helpful for many if they really only try for 3 notes.
Using this fingering you get a whole of notes with bad intonation - 👎not good
It is important to establish control when practicing these overtones. Admittedly, some are more out of tune than others as I clearly state in the video and also show how to use effectively to manipulate intonation
Cool
