    Hi Letho, so proud of your son so young and knowledgeable with the Bantu languages. In Shona we also say Tsumo

    That is very interesting, well done young man. The Ethiopians say “He who learns, teaches.” Keep thirsting for that knowledge & do not tire to share it, remember even kittens of the same litter do not open their eyes at the same time. Your pan African impulse is impressive.

    Please we would like more Bantu words so we can all come together as cousins and brothers and sisters. Riya (sp) got all those Shona words extremely well. Does he have Shona friends. I will share with my 16 year old son, hopefully he will get interested and make an effort to learn. Am from Zim by the way..

    It's kinda sad that he said he can only speak English properly, why didn't you speak to your children in Sesotho at home?

      I am a mosotho from lesotho but my children don’t speak sesotho because when u are abroad you kinda forced to speak English so ur children can easily interact with the outside world , they quickly start school and interact with other people besides you so tht situation forces you.

    • @mphosa995
      @mphosa995 5 месяцев назад

      @@SouthernAfrican_in_Ghana you're forced to speak English even in your homes???
      And how come many other people who are living with their children abroad were able to teach their children both English and their native language? I mean children can learn quickly.
      And what will happen to those children if one day they decide to move back to South Africa? Because they will surely get stigmatized by the black communities, unless if they'll decide to live in white neighborhoods.
      But you guys are robbing your children's identities and heritage.

      @@mphosa995 Yes the circumstances kinda forces u to speak English. looks like u taking the literal meaning of force.....lol.. if u were in our shoes u would understand. it gets easier if you have a large community of people who speak the same language as u, and also for some people is because they are married to other Africans who don't speak the same language. I once had the same mentality until I had my own children. some children end up having delayed speech because of mixing languages so English becomes the foundation.

    • @mphosa995
      @mphosa995 5 месяцев назад

      @@SouthernAfrican_in_Ghana how will the child have a delayed speech if you start teaching them their native language from the age of 10?
      Like it really hurts me seeing my fellow South Africans leading their children astray by not teaching them their native language despite those children already being fluent in English.
      This is how our cultures and languages will end up getting extinct.
