Zhou was really hated on coming into the season, Shows how many people didn't watch F2, Like yes he got beat by Oscar but Zhou is still a quality driver that deserves a chance, So glad he proved the people saying he was going to be the next Mazepin wrong, Also the Sergio Perez comparison is accurate
This just gives me hope for Piastri's rookie season. If Zhou can come in and do a pretty outstanding job against a well-seasoned teammate like Bottas, how well could Piastri do in that McLaren? 🤔🤞🏻
Zhou should've been P2 in 2021 on pure performance, but Shwartzman had the Prema advantage. Robert was battered by a rookie teammate Piastri, he got no feature race wins and had garbage quali pace, but Prema was so easily the best that it dragged him across the finish line to a 1-2 Prema in the championship. Zhou deserved top 5 in 2020 as well, but was very unlucky (especially in the first feature race where he was on the way to an undisputed win from pole but then his car gave up on life). Mazepin finishing ahead of him that year shows that points/standings don't tell the full story.
Zhou was always there or thereabouts in F2 and in 2020 did have pretty bad luck. I think he proved himself in F1 though again had bad luck e.g. Silverstone
Anyone who's seen Zhou's rookie F2 season, would know how good he is. If it wasn't for his bad luck, he would've finished in the top 3 in 2019. Zhou needs to step up his game in qualifying though, because Valtteri was clearly faster over one lap than him last season.
To be fair to Dennis Hauger, Prema was terrible in 2022 and they couldn't give him a setup that he was comfortable in at all... Think he'll get a more fair shot at MP Motorsports
Bottas x Pérez would be such an interesting line up. I think with the same car Bottas would easily win in Qualifying, but it should be really close during the races. Costly mistakes by both are really rare (Last year, I can only remember Bottas in USA and Pérez in Canada?), so they would be the perfect pair for a team that wants consistency in points. Guessing Sauber wasn't bad, it made sense, but Pérez did such a great job in Red Bull, he definitely deserves to be there.
Id like to add that when it comes to going toe to toe with Max in a redbull you're not just fighting against Max but also the car itself as its been proven to be pretty difficult to drive. I dont think Pierre was beaten by Max he got slapped around first and foremost by the car. He didnt even reach the second form of the boss fight which is Max himself. To that extent when comparing Sergio to Max it is just him and Max. There is still some difficulty for Sergio to be consistent with the car (compare the beginning of 2022 with the tail end of 2022) but it doesnt come into play nearly as much as when Pierre had his stint in RB.

As a Norwegian I think Hauger will excel this season. He has a history of having a much better second season. His first season was mid, but he was unlucky on several occasions. But ig we will see
But Mick Schumacher also has that kind of history. And yeah, sure, he got to F1, but things didn't work out for similar reasons as to why it wouldn't usually work out in his first year of a junior formula. Except F1 is much more ruthless and you can't hide behind that warming up excuse like in the feeder series, thus you get kicked out. I don't think Hauger has a realistic chance of F1 anymore. Marko doesn't think highly of him (he's said it more than once), RB almost dropped Hauger multiple times (as recently as the end of last year), he's hanging on to the academy by a sliver. Iwasa, Maloney and Hadjar have a lot more momentum after last season and are seen in better lights by Marko. Even if Hauger wins F2, Marko would send him to Super Formula to further prove himself by fighting for that title because he's wishy-washy on him. I genuinely think if Piastri did sign for alpine, Gasly would have had the McLaren seat anyway, would not have surprised me if he had talks with McLaren in 2021 for the 22 seat
You Still got most of the drivers on the grid correct: No Mazepin, no Ric, no Vettel, no Hauger. 16/20
Yes this is right thanks for making me feel better 😅
If Perez and Bottas in Sauber/Alfa Romeo,Perez will outperform Bottas
I think Bottas vs Perez comes down to the car performance. In a higher performing car (like the alfa was at the start of the season) bottas takes it marginally and similarly Perez takes it slightly if the car is more like the end of the season
8:20 Alonso when you don’t leave-a the space
Tommo failing to even predict the name of the Haas team speaks volumes about the shitstorm that went down over there hahahaha
I actually predicted the while vettel/alonso/piastri thing (minus the iconic tweet and it being such a mess). Was a moment of genius for me haha I got screenshot too lol
Tommo i have a question. Why everybody said mick is a flop but tsunoda ok?!?!? WTF
No lie Tommo but I actually did predict hulk in the haas (only because of my desperation for him to get back in the sport) Admittedly after the mazepin controversy😂. Does that still count??
Also hope your knee gets better :))
My one and only line-up prediction was Danny Ric to lose his seat. I didn't really want to be right
