- Badger Daylighting™ is North America’s largest provider of non-destructive excavating services.
Badger traditionally works for contractors and facility owners in a broad range of infrastructure industries. The Company’s key technology is the Badger Hydrovac, which is used primarily for safe digging in congested grounds and challenging conditions.
The Badger Hydrovac uses a pressurized water stream to liquefy the soil cover, which is then removed with a powerful vacuum system and deposited into a storage tank. Badger manufactures its truck-mounted hydrovac units.
Done vac truck for years and idc what anyone says Badgers are damn nice . Our ecm went out on our vac truck so we hired a Badger , those trucks can get some shit done with only the operator.
is it common practice for the city to clear a upper lateral with a water
jet cleaner? Do you also clean out upper laterals? Is is also supposed
to be vacuumed out? Thanks
Out here in Vancouver they seem to be the most expensive provider by far. We’ve used them many times out of necessity but TBH I haven’t seen any difference between them and other vendors in the same space except that they charge significantly more $$$. There’s a smaller company out here that gives great customer service and costs a lot less but they just don’t have the fleet/size
What do they charge?
I have an interview literally tonight in Georgia. Seems like an easy job, pay is pretty cool, gonna see about the benefits. I’ll update with my experience.
well?
?
How is it??
Cody we need an update!!
Well?
>get lines and pipe exposed with hvac
>trackhoe operator hits them anyways
So true
Not on a 36” pipeline with 900 PSI liquid natural gas in the line between Dallas and El Paso, the trackhoe will not hit it but only once.
sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Sage Seth Instablaster :)
@Dustin Charles i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
How much would I earn per hour after the cost of the expenses Ie gas and water, it’s been a nightmare looking I’m hoping someone will tell me, great content !
Ready to start for badger seems like a good company it's not hard work just nasty at times
are you still there and what is the job like? Are you an operator?
i never understood why badger has the boom on traffic side of the truck instead of on working side of the truck.
Yeah it does. really bad design. any other truck i've worked on had on passenger side.
i agree just a bad design, i just think its safer for everyone. but it is a fun job to work on vac trucks i been doing it 5 years now.
jason sakellarakos I’m currently new to operating myself it’s a pretty good trade.
Im aware that this is an old comment, the trucks initially got designed for the oil patch, there are some trucks (mostly new gen 5 trucks seem to take this as standard) that do have the boom on the passenger side. theoretically the boom can turn a whole 270 degrees.
Badger has a hard time keeping drivers (Operators). They get lots of bad reviews on trucking sites.
Roadmasterism big companies just see guys as numbers
you are right... too much gay ass policies plus you dont get enough hours
@@frantruck919 Yes they do, what's the problem with that? I've worked for CN and Cascades Recovery, both paid well. What do you want? To be taken out to dinner every Thursday so they can find out how you and your wife are doing? In some cases, they have 10's of thousands of employee's, the best way to keep track of them are as numbers. Don't like it? Go work for a small mom and pop company and get paid peanuts.
This Company is the worst to work for! If you dont bosses 🦐 then you dont work! They write you up for everything, the fleet manager is very jealous of the Union Operators because of how much money we make. Very vindictive, talks to you like a piece of dog shit. Cant wait to leave!
@@ashokaal-hadrami8477you get a lot of hours bro lol
How can a person buy one of these trucks
Can’t buy a badger Daylighting unit because they build it themselves and it’s a in house build
That is what I want to do for a living.
Me too. I love it!
Yo en Venezuela trabajo en una empresa casa igual donde está ubicada ustedes y si tiene una oportunidad de trabajo tengo 30 año de experiencia
We are in the middle of a drought in California and I'm watching 2 badger trucks steal thousands of gallons of water from a fire hydrant. I have pics of the hydrant without a meter. It's happening as I type. 9/6/22. 2:45 pm
They use to have a meter chained to this particular fire hydrant but it's gone now
So just stop work let families lose vehicles homes and starve to death because you think they shouldn’t have water?
😂 ❄️. California sucks and hopefully falls into the ocean
ok Karen
I work beside this company and their trucks don’t out dig ours and their tanks hold half as much material making them have to dump many times more
How can someone buy a truck like this
triple wands are such a waist of time and water
i thought that as well when i first started but they're so helpful in certain situations. 3 jets are very helpful when digging between 1500-1800
I never had a problem with them, as far as waisting water? Who really cares, after it gets sucked up into the tank are you planning on drinking it? And time wasted I work by the hour if it takes 10 minutes they get charged an hour if it 70 hours the coustermer is getting their monies worth. Five hours to find a 36” liquid natural gas line with 900 PSI of LPG running from Dallas to El Paso is cheap if the coustermer doesn’t have to replace a trencher and it’s operator we probably saved them a few million dollars because the metal detecting crew could not locate it and the engineers didn’t match the metal D crew and after I located the line was able to follow the dog leg, so the ditch digger wouldn’t cut into it’s sister line. I guess the one 36” pipeline wasn’t enough for the production coming out of the Newark East Barnett shale field ...
@@01dumbfrog best in west Tex I would totally beat you with my tornado 🌪️ no match
Moy Segura, I have no idea what you are referring to as in a tornado is that another producer of a hydro-vac truck?
A tornado sounds like a gimmick like a turbo on an electric vacuum cleaner
Are any or all these companies ever liable/approachable for disgusting backup that pops out of basement drain holes in residential homes? There's a few hundred homeowners in London Ont. Canada who desperately want to meet with those responsible along with something called "The Force" out of Windsor... strap those responsible in a chair and say 'open wide' with a tablespoon of whatever came up out of that hole and serve them lunch.
I know a fellow who ripped up his entire basement in a panic not knowing what was going on. For all the world "daylighting" appears to be a friendly euphemism for "we're here, and you're not going to like what we're about to do"...in the residential sector only, of course. I'm sure this is a great service for those who need it and it is indeed essential, but please tell me if there is a recourse, or protocol to City Hall or whoever for such occurrences. Who is ultimately responsible for claims in a home?
The

They pay the workers and operators crumbs terrible place to work
$30/hr is crumbs?
@@Phlacc right? I'm 18 years old, just got my 1A (CDL) I'm starting as an assistant for 24/hr and operators get 30+/hr. Eventually they'll get me on as an operator for full pay. Great job for someone new to the workforce like me with no secondary schooling.
They pay almost 50 where I live and it’s union
That doesn't surprise me
