Thanks Dave, I am a DIYer because my machine is located in a rural interstate-side hotel ... closest repairman is over an hour away. I've replaced the water valve twice. Thank you for the tips. I am getting the 3 beeps and will first investigate the float. I have to do it all ... HVACs (have to lie to get them to sell me parts), coke machines, industrial washing machines, etc. Thank very much for the time taken to load this video. Mark Campassi / Hamilton Alabama. 10/27/21
It will bite you in the ass everytime!! I always watch them too. I love it when the customer asks me "Am I paying you to stand there and watch the machine?" 😂🤣 You can pay me now or pay me later 👍
Good Video Dave . Old KML model . I had a 3 beeper alarm few days ago . Water pump would slow down during freeze 🥶 mode , sometimes it would stop completely. 😄
Hey Dave, I'm loving your videos! I'm not an HVAC/R guy but after watching like 100 of your videos I think I'd have a decent chance of doing a better job than SideShow Bob! Is there anybody you could recommend to work on a walk-in in the North Bay? (Santa Rosa) I assume you don't make it up this far north? Keep up the great work.
Had a hot gas valve stay open , when I removed it , I cut it open , and found the strainer had moved and caused the valve to remain open. Float switch goes south. Ice cube guide dislocates from its proper place because too much ice drops at one time. This causes icing up .
I've had the hot gas valve sticking open randomly... float switch dirty or bad... or dirty boot (with the other model that have em'... like you said it's a lot of stuff for the 3 beeps of death lol
I'm working on one right now. My first one so I really had to do a lot of research. Looks like problem is the pump. Not running which will cause the float switch to stay closed because the reservoir is full of water and therefore stuck in freeze mode. Errors out on 3 beeps.
I had a hot gas valve stick but never when I watched it. Finally replaced it before warranty ran out. Good thing, that was the problem. Haven't heard back since and that was in January
Had this problem the other day, hoshizaki tech support said it was a leaky hot gas valve but after some head scratching I figured out the condenser was being suffocated in a corner
I think I heard the float switch moan “Oh Dave” when you were finger banging it.

So true👍👍
Hey Dave, funny. Just went through a similar issue with the same machine this weekend., people don’t understand how time consuming ice machines are.

How did you fix this
Javier Olmedo replaced the pump
I had this exact problem last year, replaced the hot gas valve and thermistor as per hoshizaki tech support diagnosis. Worked ever since
Sir ,how to know if hot gas valve is stuck..?
the float switch also acts as a low water safety...if it does not close during start up it will stay in a fill cycle and not turn on compressor
That’s correct 👍👍⚡️
can you do a video where the machine isn't making enough ice?
What does the continuous beep mean on a KM 115B
What do you do to pass the time during freeze cycle on a hoshi?
I wish I could buy you a beer, great video
Thanks Lou

I don’t know anyone up there.
Do they pay for every minute , of do you size it up according to the customer

When does the water pump energize? I felt the water pump and its hot to the touch. I'm thinking the pump is bad.
If you use the ole finger bang trick once, you've used it a thousand times
I've run into a few of these lately that have had a groove worn into the side of the stem where the switch is located
Great info
The ol "finger bang"
Hey Dave , any news on the veto bag warranty return?
Been to busy to send it off. 🤣🤣

Good job super Dave!
I’m working on one now same model. I’m not getting the 3beeps and once I hit the reset button the compressor kicks on, in 3 / 4 mins it turns off.
Dave gave it the old #FINGERBANG
Thanks for such great knowledge
I feel like such a rookie
Always love the finger bang!!!

I Just replaced inlet water valve and float switch on this exact machine an hour ago
Your always sticking your finger in things Super Dave but they always work better from the effort ... Lol ...Good vid ...
Gracias amigo . I kow where the problem is.
Do you every think that your customers might watch your vids and try to make the repairs themselves?
They try. That’s fine.
👍
it's saying "help me, help me please" :))
Finger bang lol😂 I’m working on one now and they’re not easy to work on in work hours.
