Tony Levin has played with Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson and Yes. Just to drop few names. :) So I think we can agree he knows what he's doing. :D I first saw him with Peter Gabriel on the "Secret World Live" and my father then educated me with his background with King Crimson.
@@Zwodrey Years ago (early 90's) I bought a Dream Theater cd in a discount store. I had no idea who they were, but it was not expensive so I decided to try it. I liked it after playing it a couple of times. I no longer have it though, and don't know which one it was. 3 weeks ago I decided to play DT on Spotify starting with Falling into Infinity (1997), then Octavarium. I didn't like either one due to the vocals. The music I could have continuted to listen to, but not the vocals. If there is any that have a different vocalist, then I'd be willing to try again, so if you have some suggestions, I'll check them out sometime this week.
@floridabelle on their first album they had a different vocalist. When Dream and Day unite. It’s a Masterpiece. A good Song to Start is Ytse Yam, one of their best instrumentals. And then Afterlife, one catchy and nice song. And then The Killing Hand, the grand Opus of this Album. 🤘❤️👍
They put the album together in a week. This song is about JP's daugher's - Kiara's birth. He wrote and learned and recorded the guitar parts afterwards....Jordan Rudess then joined Dream Theater shortly afterwards for the SFAM album
One of the most insane live performances ever!
Indeed. Masterclass. 🤘❤️👍
@@Zwodrey if you get a chance, this is a 2 1/2 hour show, including a spontaneous cover of Rhapsody in Blue. Definitely worth your time
@jima6545 sounds good 🤘❤️👍
The best of the best
Tony Levin was playing the Chapman Stick during this song
Masterclass 👍

Not a reunion. They were doing this while still with Dream Theater, before Rudess joined DT.
Ah, okay 😄👍
@@ZwodreyYes, but by the show and recording, he was firmly in Dream Theater for years at this point.
@@Zwodrey This is their side project. They released first two albums somewhere late 90's and one more recently some years ago.

Oh yes, you’re right. That was a wonderful message. 🤘❤️👍
I watch this, and there is not even a shred of doubt who the best musicians on the planet are. Bar none!
Super easy, barely an inconvenience! :))))
