Eating a slice of Pizza, a portion of Cheesy Garlic Bread, a few potato chips and drinking a bottle of beer, while watching and listening to SpaceShorts (V)........awesome!!
eh dude love the chill vid. You can cut down some serious time...after you jump to Cellin, pull up your map, zoom onto Cellin and select one of the outposts to jump to. You can also hit G to toggle gimble on your crosshair for precise mouse targeting when scanning rocks. Also, I 100% agree with you about the state of the game...has been running very well for me. Had 3 server errors freezes...but each time 5min later it reconnected to another server. Once Servermeshing is added...whole new ball game. I just figured out that scanning single target vs, multie spread out targets using V and Tab to scan. Been alot smoother mining now. Made 450k in 6hrs today. Nice mining, have fun! o7 Tip: I like how you zoomed into the HUD, I would suggest doing more zoom-in's on the HUD for the scan material display on the right. The blue text is so hard to see, even in game at times xD. Cheers!
your blowing my mind on some of the rocks you skip! I do quick trips and many of them because i fill up fast due to unwanted rocks but i just do lots of them! Thanks for the video!
@@SpaceShortsYT for the purpose of streaming i like you being picky. Lets me watch your thought process and i learn more vs if you just scooped up everything. Picky vs Non Picky may be in the noise level as to which makes more profit per hour. my 1st few trips will be non picky quick trips with 32 SCU bags on prospector. I will need some quick money in the bank. after that i will refine my methods. Normally I am not as picky as you but pretty close... 60% tier one vs Your 75% tier one.
This is a great video! If you want to go more in depth with your prospector I recommend taking both of your mining lasers. I like to detach my helix and tractor beam the mining head through your prospector door from the top of the ladder. Store the ship and attach the hofstede. Bringing some mining gadgets and extra modules can be fun too!
That's a really good idea. Where are putting that laser physically to bring it? I've never tried that. I did think a cool Mole upgrade was having external saddles where you could carry more mining heads...
@@SpaceShortsYT It’s a tight fit, but if you stand inside your prospector you can open the ladder and tractor the laser right through the open door. I keep my lasers next to my bed. Last night I got the mole bags on my prospector thanks to your tip! Cheers
Right on! You explained the Mole, Prospector, and follow-up scanning very well. I have a request. Can you revive the Reclaimer and Vulcan for salvage in the same format?
enjoyed this. got a prospector and having a vague idea on what to do is handy. Would be interested in seeing a prospector interact with an expanse (is that right name, the concept small refiner) and even more interested if both could fit within the cargo hold of an ironclad :P
The scanning inefficiency is why I stopped mining in SC. If you are in a mining ship you should be passively scanning everything in front of you while in mining mode rather than having to point at each individual chunk
I find that I don't bother switching modes once I'm on the surface because normally it's not a massive distance. For ROC mining I keep my SCM lower anyway. Lately though, I've not been getting ping returns, might be user error since I don't fully grasp all the ping/scan changes on the UI - have you found the cargo grid bug (which many use to dupe with) preventing you from doing your refinery runs?
You won't get many ping returns if PIERC is 99%. You need to ping with PIERC at 50% (or 0%), then close it (set it higher and higher) and you approach the teardrop icons that signify the rocks, try that. Haven't had a cargo bug myself you...
Earned a sub mate, excellent prospector video with my personal choice of setup with laser and gadget.... What would you suggest would be your limit on size rocks that you would crack with that?
I noticed taranite turned off. I been noticing this when I mine. But I see it went through to be refined. When ever you pick more then one ore. One seems to turn off. When I had this happen to me, I thought I would loose it. So I just sold all the ore as is. But I can see when you did this, the ore went on to be processed. So now I know it will be there if it turns off in the contract manager
If you look at a planet (in this case Crusader) there are rings around it on the star map. Once inside those rings, you can "turn off the quantum" by hitting "U" and killing your power. Then just power back up, choose a different direction (like Daymar, Yela, or Cellin) and head directly to them. Basically stop your quantum drive by powering down as you get "close" to Crusader, but you are not there yet... and redirect.
The Impact is another great option. I absolutely use the Impact size 2 on my Mole. I should try it on the Prospector with a Rieger / Focus. Good lookin' out :)
One other thing is I think the game is more stable now. Older 3.18+ versions had server crashes where i lost everything on ship and person. It seems to be better. I had one 3.23 server crash and it reloaded from the replication layer so I lost nothing. In 3.18 or 3.19 i tried to play but the game was to unstable for me to get money in the bank. Half the time i went out the game would crash while mining. Then for me 2 out of 3 refined mining loads got delivered due to server crashes. (one at the selling terminals at Area18, the other with a loaded up taurus in space. Seems i delivered one load after 3 tries). Any way it seems more stable but I only played a couple hours ferrying ships. Mining still makes about half as much with lots of new stuff to learn. It is a little more boring than 3.17 with no threat of a quantum timer. That said, if it steadily makes money without game stability loses i am game to try again. stability is why i never tried cargo hauling for money. i figured the game is gonna crash 1 in 20 times so why deliver cargo for 10% profit.
It's very true, Mining doesn't make nearly as much, but I enjoy it. And it's been much more stable of late. I think it'll begin to shine when we get some manufacturing or base building. We'll see though :)
Darn I missed it ... Just completed a CCU chain to get a Herc C2 for $260. It was missing a war bond on the Vanguard Harbinger which i got this Invictus. I also got a left hand VKB to replace my throttle... i am having a very hard time figuring out master modes. In Nav mode i barely give it gas and she ship is zooming. Its like in a car barely pushing the gas and your car zooms up 60 mph ... Ha ha

Cellin has the 1-3 mass index, (which is the smallest). So it's very well suited for Solo. It's true though, if you are looking to mix/max and don't care about time then CRU-L1's bonuses are not great. MIC-L2 is god mode on bonuses, +9% Gold, + 9 Bex%, and +1% Quant. I haven't been too concerned about it lately because I think there is a wipe coming at some point later this year ;)
